  1. Thank you for the Sunday Daily Rich and the sermon, Graham. Happy Mothers Day to all our Dailyite mothers. Irises are beautiful, Red Cross and Red Crescent provide valuable services, and I believe @cruising single plays a valuable role in their work. Victory in Europe is a great event that we need to replicate today in Ukraine. Not sure what to make of the quote. Been to Lisbon many times. I'll pass on the meal. Since I've never actually been on a BHB on a May 8 I'll use a meal from a cruise close to the date. My selection today is Bahamian Spiced Chicken with Yogurt-Cilantro Sauce and Wild Berry Profiteroles, my embarkation lunch on the Nieuw Statendam cruise that ended May 5. 2. I only have one May 8 sunrise. It's from my 2019 Nieuw Statendam/Cunard round trip transatlantic. I slept late May 8 but caught this from my hotel window in Kiel. Roy

  4. No camera issue. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2002 and after perhaps 6 months on medication it has been controlled entirely by diet and walking for going on 20 years. For virtually all that time I've been maintaining daily spreadsheets of what I've been eating to plan my meals. Since I started blogging on cruises I've almost always posted menus for each of my cruises on the blogs. My tastes are pretty plain and I never really felt my choices matched the fancy dishes others posted. Readers started asking for photos and I finally succumbed to the request with the little collages in November 2016. I only have the photos for cruises after that date, and have not had a lot of HAL cruises between early May and late July in years since then, so there are no corresponding photos. I get the descriptions I use by comparing my notes on what I ate in days prior to November 2016 with the details on the day's menu. The next date for which I have such a photo taken on a HAL ship is July 18, 2018, although my choices with photos may include my train trip to the cruise. Roy
  5. My May 7 sunrise is from a 2017 Crystal Symphony Panama Canal cruise (San Diego to Miami). On May 7 we visited San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. Roy

  8. I sense a bit of pioneer spirit here. This will be Zaandam's first sailing with passengers in over 2 years. The ship had quite an extensive drydock in Cadiz recently and whenever I've seen her checking in at Fort Lauderdale for supplies and crew she's looked absolutely pristine. The crew may require a few days to get their stride but will be ever so attentive and willing to make this great itinerary even better. Bon Voyage to Zaandam - 9-Day The Atlantic Coast: Larrycoons Bon Voyage Larrycoons !!!!!! Have a great cruise and a WONDERFUL time !!!!! Roy (pinch-hitting for Jacqui)
  9. This will be a bit of a trial balloon, but I've been posting daily sunrise photos from my past travels on several other forums (HAL, Crystal, and Maryland cruisers) and wonder if that would be of interest here. Most will not be from Cunard ships, although it just happens that today's photo is. I sailed the Crystal Symphony to Antarctica in 2016, and rather than fly from Baltimore in winter, I chose to do a pair of Cunard transatlantics and fly from Miami instead (and do we really need an excuse for another transatlantic or two). It turned out to be a very wise decision as Baltimore was hit by 2 feet of snow July 15 on Queen Victoria was a sea day between Porto Delgada and Port Canaveral: Roy
