  7. I guess we'd better watch while we can before Zuiderdam ducks behind the Dream. Roy
  8. Thank you for the Thursday Daily, Rich. It seems appropriate that we have a Mexican port on Cinco de Mayo. I haven't sailed to Topolobampo but visited there briefly on a 1999 rail trip to the Copper Canyon spending New Years Eve deep in the canyon where any issues with the millennium would have no effect on our operations. I like the Rowling quote. Cartoonists have a talent for getting sensitive points across in non-offensive ways. Museum's are a great part of our heritage and some of the best are outdoors. Midwives provide an essential service. Despite it being Conco de Mayo I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is a classic Dutch Apple Pancake which I enjoyed for lunch May 5, 2019 after disembarking the Nieuw Statendam in Amsterdam. I expect many of us will be watching a funeral this morning. 9. I sense a bit of pioneer spirit here. This will be Zaandam's first sailing with passengers in over 2 years. The ship had quite an extensive drydock in Cadiz recently and whenever I've seen her checking in at Fort Lauderdale for supplies and crew she's looked absolutely pristine. The crew may require a few days to get their stride but will be ever so attentive and willing to make this great itinerary even better. Bon Voyage to Zaandam - 9-Day The Atlantic Coast: Larrycoons Bon Voyage Larrycoons !!!!!! Have a great cruise and a WONDERFUL time !!!!! Roy (pinch-hitting for Jacqui)
  10. @luvteaching, I see both a crisis and opportunity for DH. I'm sorry that it took him going to the hospital but that therapy could almost be a blessing in disguise. Roy
  11. My dilemma is that I don't think she expects me to do any after tomorrow. She can't decide when to take the Bon Voyages back unless she knows the offer is on the table. The question is when I should make the offer. Roy
  12. I'm wondering if the dailyites have an opinion on this. I've been Jacqui's backup on the Future Cruise List/Bon Voyage project although I've had a long hiatus. With the hiccup in the software that runs the future cruise list I won't touch that but can do Bon Voyages. I know she's going to have a LOT on her hands and thinking I probably should do that beyond the one tomorrow (the next one after that is Sunday). I'm wondering when I should broach the subject, tomorrow afternoon, perhaps Friday, or some other time. Jacqui took over the care and celebration lists when I was in the hospital a year ago and for some time after I got home. I both was relieved at the lessening of my load but also craved a return to normalcy, and giving the Bon Voyages back to her should be based on what's best for her. Any thoughts on when I should raise the subject? Tomorrow several hours after the funeral, perhaps Friday or perhaps some other time? Opinions? Roy

  16. Thank you for the Hump Day Daily, Rich. I biked to school a number of times in my youth. We have some VERY avid birders in my church. I'm not quite sure what to think about the Meyer quote. I see Zaandam will make a final pre-service appearance in Port Everglades May 6-10. I've been to Maui a couple of times on Crystal and also a land trip. I'll pass on the candied orange peel but the meal suggestion sounds interesting. My alternative is Classic Caesar Salad, Broiled New York Striploin and Peach and Berry Crisp, my final dinner on my Nieuw Statendam May 4, 2019: Today’s care list: RIP Jose 5/1 and strength, peace, and healing for kazu cat shepard grieving cousin RIP Norm Manetta JazzyV and 1Angelcat facing expensive medicines Lady Hudson SIL back in hospital with infection Dfish continuing pain From the rotation: St, Louis Sal with weakening legs and panic attacks Cruising along niece awaiting a kidney Marshhawk offline until 5/10 Ukraine Celebrations and Shoutouts: Volendam housing refugees 8 BHB with guests Dismomx5 in Cairo meeting new toddler and baby Bon Voyage baltic7 (Zuiderdam to 5/11) Sea Viewer brother visiting until May 12 Aliaschief and DW in Hawaii NextOne on River Cruise Welcome home Horizon Chaser 1957 4 days for Lady Hydson (Oasis OTS 5/8 to 5/22) Cruzin Terri (Nautica to 5 /5), oceansaway17 (Symphony OTS to 5/7). rsldonk (Eurodam to 5/7), jawhawk66 and sailingdutchy (Nieuw Statendam to 5/8), and leafsnation (Noordam to 5/15) at sea Koningsdan Staff Captain Sabine - Our first female Staff Captain and HAL’s likely first female Captain(I know this is a repeat but she’s worth it) Roy
  17. I sure hope it isn't the CV joints, as it sounds like you will need tires in the not too distant future anyway. I think some cars are designed to use very specific tires and they are often the expensive ones. I hope you do have a suitable affordable tire. Roy
  18. To me, all you posted was that you found it and did not disclose a bit of personal information. I see no problem with that whatsoever. Roy

  21. Thank you for the Tuesday Daily, Rich. Lumpy Rug day sounds kind of whimsical. I don't really do much garden meditation but will definitely salute teachers. I like the Green quote. I was booked to visit Tasmania in 2020 but the call was cancelled due to storms rather than the pandemic. The menu sounds a bit too spicy for my tastes. My alternative is Classic Caesar Salad,Linguini Russo, and Vanilla Ice Cream as served on MS Nieuw Statendam May 3, 2019: Today’s care list: RIP Jose 5/1 and strength, peace, and healing for kazu cat shepard grieving cousin JazzyV and 1Angelcat facing expensive medicines Lady Hudson SIL back in hospital with infection Dfish continuing pain From the rotation: Marshhawk offline until 5/10 Ukraine Heartgrove older sister in hospice msmayor’s daughter struggling with motherhood Celebrations and Shoutouts: Volendam housing refugees 8 BHB with guests Dismomx5 in Cairo meeting new toddler and baby JAM37 settling in at new house Sea Viewer brother visiting until May 12 Aliaschief and DW in Hawaii A lovely marriage for Jacqui and Jose NextOne on River Cruise Cruzin Terri pacing herself and getting to cathedral 6 days for Lady Hydson (Oasis OTS 5/8 to 5/22) Horizon Chaser 1957 (Zuiderdam to 5/4), Cruzin Terri (Nautica to 5 /5), oceansaway17 (Symphony OTS to 5/7). rsldonk (Eurodam to 5/7), jawhawk66 and sailingdutchy (Nieuw Statendam to 5/8), and leafsnation (Noordam to 5/15) at sea Koningsdan Staff Captain Sabine - Our first female Staff Captain and HAL’s likely first female Captain(I know this is a repeat but she’s worth it) Roy
