  1. All activity on my cc number is reported back to me. I've never used the card for a wire xfer and don't understand why that would be excluded?
  2. Princess says: "Formal attire is tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits for men and evening gowns, cocktail dresses or elegant pantsuits for women." I'm going to bet a large number of those complaining about rules not being enforced are not adhering strictly to this standard.
  3. How does someone go about enforcing a 'suggestion'. Stated requirements like no shorts, bare feet, etc. are easily enforceable.
  4. I am turning 71 this month. Oh yeah, I agree about handwriting. Mine is horrible. While my good friend Arthur Itus might be partially to blame, I also think lack of practice plays a big part.
  5. At my annual physical this year my Doc said they were required to do some kind of mental acuity eval because of my age. I don't know if it is a law or just their policy. Or, maybe something Mrs Ldubs asked them to do, IDK. Fortunately, I knew what day it was and was able to answer the questions. They gave me a clipboard and asked me to write any sentence. Good thing I get plenty of practice here on the forums. Haha.
  6. Good point. I'm thinking it is probably because the OP did not list cost or time as an issue.
  7. Yes, we will. The current option is because our governor extended the covid rule intended to protect us old folks (70 & up) from having to visit a public place like the DMV. That law says a DL written test is required for renewals at 70 years old. That is also waived through the end of this year. So us age advantaged folks can renew online without taking the test. Had me worried because I can never remember what the yellow curb means.
  8. I get a text and Mrs Ldubs gets an email for all charges regardless of size. Most of the time I hear the text "ding" before I've had time to put my credit card away.
  9. You keep repeating this. If this happened every time there was a complaint there wouldn't be any staff left. 😀
  10. The answer is currently yes for my state (California). I just renewed my regular license on line because getting the real ID required a visit to DMV and a test. I was too lazy to do that. The ability to still get the old DL's technically would not be a reason to stop implementation off Real ID. Of course, without widespread Real ID use, it will be the worst air travel day in history when they throw the switch.
  11. Wait a minute. Surely you do not expect me to believe a quote from TSA's site over what I read from strangers on the internet! 😀
  12. Thanks for pointing that out. My state's DMV says real ID will be required to fly. That simply isn't true for those with passports. I just had to renew my DL. My choice was to book an appt and go the DMV for a real ID, or renew my DL online. I did the online renewal.
  13. You seem kind of obsessed with this. Thanks for the tips, but I've been enjoying cruises and travel in general for a very long time. All within whatever budget or time constraints might apply.
  14. Come on now. The cruise I want is typically itinerary and price. For the OP, add available vacation days.
  15. National dress is considered acceptable .
  16. I have done so many times in the past and will likely do so in the future. Fly in same day as the cruise, that is.
  17. Without any details door #2 sounds better for the reasons you give. That assumes I would like both ships, both cruise itineraries, and the place I will be touring in between. A consideration for me, which might not apply to you, is the total length of the vacation. I personally do not enjoy vacations that are too long. So, if we are talking about two 10 or more day cruises with 7 days in between, then I would not do that. The nice thing about this decision is you either choice is good!
  18. I think the best approach would be to report the loss to ship personnel along, of course, with any pertinent info learned from the bank. Then, leave it in their hands. I think we all agree a valid reason should exist before any finger is pointed.
  19. So, just like the OP, you would say Oops that was a mistake and not do it again. Sounds good to me.
  20. Unfortunately thieves make out on charges made before they are reported stolen. In this case it sounds like the crook(s) made $1,000. I certainly would not accuse anyone without some solid reason. However, it makes no sense to automatically exclude someone because they have a lower level job.
  21. The OP already indicated they made a mistake leaving the cards out. The public flogging isn't necessary.
  22. Yeah, it seems just like you have to pay the single supplement for the cabin, you have to pay the single supplement for the package(s). I suppose they reason it applies to a double occupancy just like the fares are based on double occupancy. I guess the same fairness issue could be argued for a double occupancy where one of the occupants does not drink alcohol. So it is not just solos who are impacted by the pricing.
  23. Good point. I was aware of that restriction and thought it was about consumption of alcohol as opposed being in the lounge or sitting on a bar stool.
