  1. I've used the balloon hand pumps a lot when the kids were young. They work without much effort and wouldn't take up much room. Probably get one for $5 or less.
  2. If they say bring it, then I bring it. I would assume the digital vax card is acceptable.
  3. Huh. One person in the cabin should be one package charge. Seems very odd and unfair to me.
  4. We set up our phones for wifi calling. Basically we can call any US number at no charge as long as we have wifi access. Your phone would need to have wifi calling capability and it looks like you need to activate it with Straight Talk.
  5. Travel requirements for Saint Lucia say a WHTI document other than a passport is OK for people coming on cruises. Seems the question would be if a DL and birth cert presented together are WHTI compliant. I read it the same as you -- they are good for reentry to the US. I think the best advice for the OP is in Post #3.
  6. By the hi-lighted item, do you mean when you used your spouse's medallion, they didn't bother to confirm identity? That would seem to be a bad practice.
  7. Everything of any value is locked in the safe. If, God forbid, some thief did access our cabin, I guess they could steal our clothes. Maybe the luggage and charger cords. Pretty slim pickings, IMO. I guess they could order up a bunch of stuff or make an international call on the cabin phone at $$$/minute, but that seems kind of iffy. I wonder how often thieves break into cabins. I guess the targeted haul would be laptops, tablets, & cameras. And maybe jewelry and credit cards if folks leave them out. If the thief got lucky they might cover their cruise fare. It just doesn't seem worth it to me. If it happens I would think it is more of a dishonest person taking advantage of an opportunity as opposed to a pre-planned crime. But, what do I know.
  8. I agree with both of you. The OP admits to their carelessness. I think the OP was correct in notifying the ship personnel. It then becomes appropriate for them to investigate.
  9. I have a digital record of all vaccines & medications. I was asked for that kind of info once at a medical facility while traveling outside the country. As far as I know it currently is not required to have it and hopefully never needed for anything serious, but it is there just in case.
  10. Well, that isn't an obstructed view cabin anymore.
  11. If you just turned them inside/out, you would only need to wash every other night!
  12. We were lucky in that respect. Both the state and our healthcare provider provide digital copies with QR codes. I've had them scanned earlier this year, but not for any travel since mid-year.
  13. You say it well. Clearly COVID hits us older folk harder. That has been pretty clear since the start of the pandemic.
  14. Same here. In the digital wallet. I stopped getting the paper copy a couple boosters ago.
  15. Especially if some of the posters on this thread show up.
  16. I agree with the other poster that the policies outlined in the link look outdated. I think you made a reasonable assumption seeing "updated Dec 2022". I likely would have done the same. Sorry, but I just can't see any sinister conspiracy to mislead the cruising public here. 😀
  17. Cutting down on flu and colds is a pretty darn good reason for wearing a mask. I've said before I hope to see a cultural shift in our country for people to voluntarily wear masks in public when they are sick.
  18. Most all med facilities around here require masks. That includes skilled nursing and senior care facilities. There are not general mask requirements for hotels. An individual business, including a hotel, may, and sometimes must, require masks. All per public health mandates.
  19. I totally agree. Why get chips on the shoulders about someone else wearing a mask. I had my vehicle in for service earlier this week. Everyone in the service dept was wearing a mask. I don't know why and it didn't bother me (other than I kind of wanted to wear one too 😀).
  20. Same experience here. Well, not calling your Mom, but with using wifi calling on Princess without issues.
  21. Well, that is true. No thing is impossible if the "thing" can be arbitrarily changed to something that is possible. Me, I would take the cruise I want and the same day flight that makes it possible.
