  1. If they would use to fee to increase the food quality, I'd be okay with it
  2. We signed up for a 4 hour “chocolate making” tour, comically, they put all of us to work…While one employee supervised we performed each of the following tasks for about 20-30mins…Planted seed pods, sorted the good cocoa beans from the bad while one employee watched, then we poured melted chocolate into molds, wrapped the cooled molded chocolate and finally stuck on labels. What was even more comical, those who signed up for a highlight tour were at the chocolate store for a 5min tour to watch us perform each of the tasks
  3. Math is WAY off…Some bullet points of why it makes very little sense to charge luggage fees: 1) If RCG announces luggage fees and the competitors do not, expect a large % of cancellations in protest along with a % people no longer booking future RCG sailings in protest 2) Expect a huge reduction in bookings for sailing longer than 7 nights 3) Expect many people to greatly ration their baggage with many simply carrying on 3) Like airlines, RCG would most likely give a free luggage allowance for those with loyalty status 4) Since people will reduce what their clothing items so expect a more relaxed dress code or else the crew will need to deal of blitz of people going to guest services to demand an OBC since they were unable to get into the MDR 5) expect those with status to fully utilize their laundry perk which does cost the cruise line $$$ You can imagine the RCG/CCL/NCL bean counters explored all sorts of price reduction strategies including new fees like luggage fees over a decade ago. Management’s strategy seems to be to not add any new fees but rather to increase existing fees while reducing services provided for non-suite staterooms. Doing so allows them to say “we didn’t eliminate the XYZ service, simply book a suite to receive that service”. What sucks is this has been noticeable in complimentary food on board
  4. I believe that’s what they want…”want twice a day cleaning? Book the retreat today with our best offer of the week!”
  5. Probably extra charges for ordering more than two entrees and/or more than one lobster tail...Also, probably premium items with up charges added to MDR
  6. My satire joke, the marketing dept poached the IT's dept's budget again...lol
  7. Totally agree, they also seem to underrate you on the tables, either that or they’ve fudged the theo’s “game played” number
  8. Correct…For many on a casino deal where you do not receive free Wi-Fi you may be able to get away with paying for less devices. You also don’t need to bother with buying and setting up a travel router
  9. Yup and to my understanding, RCI awards you a discounted/comped offer on the last day based on your current sailing play. X bases it on your last sailings play. Perhaps if there are changes to X’s BCC program it will follow RCI’s path
  10. Thanks. Pre-pandemic my last CCL sailing was 2018 and they cleaned my balcony room twice a day without me asking
  11. You would have to imagine if they go to once a day service, assuming they’re still giving out chocolates and daily printouts they would leave them in the room regardless the time of day. Perhaps the only difference between early and late service would be whether the curtains are opened or closed
  12. GoGreen is grossly misunderstood, assuming the ship and the attendants follow the GoGreen protocol, turn down service is almost the same, they just skip vacuuming and skip cleaning the bath/shower. They still will replace your towels on the floor with clean ones
  13. Fair point yet I do not specifically know if there's a difference between "early" service or "late" service. Reportedly on RCL, attendants are going from 15 rooms twice a day to 25 rooms once a day. Therefore it would appear you might even get your preferred time
  14. It was brought to my attention that if you connect a laptop to the ships premium wifi and turn on the laptops hotspot then your phone can make phone calls and send/receive SMS texts. Occasionally the ships internet works fine but for whatever reason, the SMS and wi-fi calling capability go offline
  15. CCL paved the way to eliminate turn down after the restart, RCI announced they'll eliminate turn down several weeks ago and it just announced that NCL will eliminate it as well. Unfortunately, turn down service's days are most likely numbered on X, only question is when they'll eliminate it. Do you care?
  16. If folks didn't read the OP's post #14, they probably didn't read your post either...lol
  17. Another possible alternative is to look and see the cost of staying the night and taking the early flight home the next day. This can be far cheaper if disembarkation falls on a Sunday. I’ve made a total of 3 flight between 845-9am with plenty of time to spare. Disclaimer, I have airline status, global/pre-check and Clear. Assuming one is mobile enough to self carry off and head straight to the taxi line (Uber/Lyft can have issues since they need to SUCCESSFULLY get through the checkpoint), odds are the biggest hold up will be dropping off your bags. Curbside is an option but if there’s a huge inside line for baggage drop, curb side will also usually be long. Most airlines have a 45min prior to boarded bag drop deadline. Most planes stop boarding 15mins before take off
  18. It’s a pointless debate to determine when others should get off the ship. Some have major anxiety to be in the hustle and bustle of being one of the first off the ship while others have anxiety until they get off the ship Simply do what brings you joy, whether that’s being the one of the first or one of the last off the ship
  19. If you do it, book a backup flight, on the day of, cancel the flight you didn't fly on; will be a credit, not a refund
  20. Been on several ships including the 'Nox as of three months ago, they do things a bit different. You line up your luggage in the theater and that should be the line yet people also create their own line ignoring the luggage line
