  1. The wifi is prorated by night, so if you want to try basic for a couple of days then can upgrade mid-sailing if it isn't to your liking
  2. According to an iLounge on the Edge back in the summer of 2021 (so non-starlink), they claim Premium is supposed to be at least twice as fast. Additionally, with an iPhone, with basic you can only text other iPhone users; finally premium allows you to make phone calls (basic doesn't). With basic there are work arounds to communicate with others using a 3rd party wifi app like whatapps but the issue (for some) is you miss out on incoming non-iPhone texts including existing group texts, incoming phone calls, etc.
  3. FYI for those considering booking a sailing to Asia, be sure to check out the shore excursions, they were pricey, one Vietnam port had a bunch of $300+ options
  4. Thanks. Didn't realize it's class specific, I just recalled some ships pools having warmer water than others
  5. X food has gone downhill yet some items were never speculator to begin with... CCL's Guys Burgers blows away the burgers at X's Mast Grill CCL's hot dog while not great are at least edible, not so at the Mast Grill CCL's melting cake and C-Bang cake (which is reportedly the same recipe as the melting cake with more flour) blow all X's complimentary desserts CCL's Big Chicken has better chicken than any chicken dish on X CCL's BBQ/P&A has better BBQ than many of the land based restaurants near me and is better than many of X's dishes With X, both the MDR and buffet are better than CCL but nothing to write home about. IMO, the MDR/buffet food quality is below a typical chain restaurant like the Outback or Applebees. X's food presentation and service are great and are a few steps above carnival, it's just the taste and/or textures leaves a lot to be desired and lately they're been overcooking things more often Just an example of X's food...Spanish (Barcelona) Veggie Paella isn't a super unique dish yet someone picked out this style of paella to "elevate". Coincidently, veggie paella is the cheapest style of paella to make while the traditional version with seafood is the most expensive
  6. Yes, there's two HGI's, I cannot speak on the SW location but have stayed twice in HGI Ft. Lauderdale Airport-Cruise Port. For a good value consider Ocean's One Grill which is by Hawks and walkable, 3 cocktails for $11 and nothing is over $5.99 for lunch. Dinner is very reasonable. They're known for their sirloin burgers ($5.99 for lunch and $8 for dinner) which is fantastic at that price. But...For the best burger around which is sold at a reasonable price, look no further than Le Tub Saloon which you'd need to lyft/uber to but you get a great view of the channel with yachts going by. It just so happens to be Opera's favorite burger, it's in my top ten burgers of all time http://www.theletub.com/
  7. This is why I provide specifics and now added a new data point. With that being said, FLL will be the most common port X sails out of
  8. During check in you select your boarding window; early times tend to go first. When they were enforced they would have different lines outside the terminal with assigned time signs and staff enforcing them. Even then, once everyone with that assigned time was let into the terminal the staff would allow others in which confused many. Those days are long gone and I haven't seen any staff hanging outside the terminal nor anyone in the terminal checking assigned times
  9. You'll receive a print out day 1 in your cabin that gives the details. Will also say HH excluded from the World bar and Craft Social regardless if the ship has them or not
  10. As of last month, the port to the FLL was $20 in a taxi but I can't remember if was per ride or per person
  11. Bringing this, it's unpowered so should be able to get it on, just in case I find the lawn clubs grass too tall for my liking 🙃
  12. Yup...However, this came from another poster and not princess so take it with a grain of salt. Not much info posted online about it
  13. I asked X on twitter the current starlink schedule, here's how they answered, I highlighted the ships that have deployed it *Starlink Roll-out schedule, subject to change: Beyond - 09/05/22 Eclipse-10/22/22 Edge-11/11/22 Solstice-12/03/22 Apex-12/17/22 Reflection-12/18/22 Silhouette-12/22/22 Millennium-01/27/23 Constellation-02/24/23 Equinox-12/22/23 Summit-12/31/23 Ascent-Delivery (to be announced yet) Infinity-01/30/24 Some good and bad news, particularly the Equinox being super delayed
  14. Very possible; I always self-carry off which means I usually get there before the rush of cruise pax arrive
  15. I know you're joking but let's put this to the test...lol...From X's viewpoint, what would be the silliest suggestion? 🤔 Got it, open the Retreat to everyone...lol
  16. We only get coffee and write on the slip "leave at the door", perhaps that's why
  17. Uber drivers may not want to go their either but they don't really have a choice once the ride is accepted; taxi drivers can refuse if they want to
  18. Like it or not, reality is no one is keeping tabs of alcohol bottles and you'll most likely get it through successfully. When the rule was officially 1/person, I had 3 bottles in one carry on and got it through. It was an accident as were had planned on staying up late the night before but were wiped out
  19. Other ships will leave it without even calling. Generally we only order coffee for breakfast room service as the container does keep it hot for at least an hour
