  1. Blu varies by ship, E-Class you can see in, M class they have a huge sliding door and I think that's the same for the S-Class...When on the Millie they had the door closed until they opened for service
  2. You need to try a top burger recipe; the following is an easy to make (no grinding meat) and affordable (about $2 per 8oz patty) "99% burger" or a burger that's better than 99% of the burgers you've ever had...For the meat, you generally have the best, Japanese/Australian Wagyu, second best which is what we're using here American Wagyu and third, USDA Prime. For the patties, sams club and costo sell American Wagyu at under $7/lb, buy that and McCormick's Just 5 classic french onion, liberally sprinkle both sides of the patty with McCormick's powder, that's it...Some have called this burger "life changing", it really is that good
  3. Absolutely agree with the food downgrade yet just pointing out on X you can buy a specialty package in roll that into the price...Same for Royal and in addition, they also allow you buy a "premium" steak and/or lobster for a fee in the MDR which is something I'm baffled X doesn't do considering how hard it is to get a specialty dining reservation before 9pm once on board if a non-suite guest. Also when in port we eat dinner off the ship whenever can, you get a sense of the local scene and food, we find many ports with great restaurants we found on the tripadvisor forums. Usually the cost is less than the specialty cover charge yet if you're wanting expensive alcohol it would be more expensive
  4. No-no! We like errors such as the notorious $10/sailing internet upgrade voucher
  5. Can also use something like this which are affordable
  6. If you have a windows laptop it has a built in "wifi router" so you do not need to buy an additional router; it's also one single click to turn it on 95% they were asking if an ipad had a "wifi router" like a windows laptop, it apparantely doesn't Screenshot from a windows PC
  7. The problem is, even if X posted a crew member in front of the Blu entrance, folks will start lining up around the corner where the crew can't see The Millie's Blu did this, was scheduled to open at 530, they open for seating only at 5, if you were in line the line by 445 no chance of a window seat and you may need to arrive earlier It should be noted whenever you're at a restaurant, you should tell the host upon your arrival what kind of table you want such as a window, a specific section, a booth, a non-both table, etc
  8. From what I've seen, the doors are closed and no crew member is to be seen until they open the door. I cannot see X willing to post a crew member to enforce a no line rule
  9. If apple is to be believed, no, can only turn cellular data into a wifi hotspot
  10. I travel more than most, I want to share this should be a wakeup call to everyone: 1) Buy apple air tags or tile tracking devices 2) Never put anything irreplaceable in the luggage you're going to put outside your stateroom or will check on a plane 3) PRO TIP, while more geared towards traveling on a plane, its still good advice for a cruise...In your carryon, always have a toothbrush, TSA-size-approved toothpaste, deodorant and any other toiletries you may need if you have an unexpected overnight stay. If you have the room, throw in a pair of boardshort and Tshirt In 2019 I did have a missing bag, I didn't hear a peep until 7 days later on turn around day, it most likely went on another cruise or it was lost in the terminal. Filed a claim with X, was told if it wasn't found I COULD be reimbursed UP TO $250 yet because it was found I'm not sure how that process would work. They called me, told me they found it, confirmed my address and to my surprise overnighted it (not cheap) to me and didn't charge me
  11. Appreciate the detailed review! At the end I would love hear: 1) Your top five "hits" and "misses" 2) Best food item and worst food item 3) And the most important question, did you meet Capt Kate? Supposedly she was on this sailing as a passenger
  12. I did notice on the Beyond they had a hotdog rolling machine but I didn't try it as I'm still suffering from mast grill hot dog PTSD. I can't remember the ship I was on when I had a hotdog about six months ago but the mast grill crew grabbed the hot dog from a container filled with hot water...That hot dog was the worst thing I've ever ate on X, I haven't called anything on X AWFUL except for that hot dog
  13. I just want to be clear I'm not shaming anyone for their preference (including level of doneness) yet am saying if you load it up with toppings the taste and texture of the meat becomes far less important
  14. Supposedly starlink is a lot cheaper than past systems yet I do not see them ever lowering the internet price, it'll only go increase like gratuities
  15. No one would be surprised if this spring to summer sale was extended into the winter... If you truly want an exceptional sale, booking a lower occupancy sailing a few weeks before sail date results in an "fire sale" as they're discounting to fill the ship...However, it is specific the room type meaning there could be a big sale on oceanviews but not balcony as it's based on room type occupancy Textbook example, the next three Millie Alaska 7 night sailings are $299/pp for an inside and $399/pp OV...One of those sailings has a balcony for $799/pp, other two are over a grand
  16. Like I said in post #15, for those who load their burger with topping its "like a thanksgiving turkey, where the meat is just a delivery vehicle for stuffing and gravy, the burger meat is just a delivery vehicle for condiments and toppings"
  17. Do you have a laptop? Bring that if so, much simpler than a travel router. A travel router can be a bit complicated because they can have multiple modes to do different things. If you get one attempt to set it at home so you know what you're doing once you're on board. Watching Youtube videos on your router model would be incredibly helpful
  18. Correct on that info; in order to do wi-fi calling you need premium however with basic you can do 3rd party calls like FB or WhatsApp. I agree I wish they didn't charge for it as near all hotels don't
  19. If @jelayne's suggestion of managing booking doesn't work, email CelebrityMoveUp@celebrity.com as you have nothing to lose. Keep the email as short of possible, just say "please make booking # 123456 eligible for MoveUp"...FYI, they have replied to me that they can't do anything until I'm within 21 days of the sailing and (of course) they request I email them again once within 21 days
  20. Thanks for sharing...Haven't done Virgin and while we'd like to, we're not fans of their itineraries, seems they have more sea days than competitors such as X or are too short (B2Bs won't work either as a day is wasted in the embarkation port)
  21. Yup, chocolate cake...I'd actually say it's the best dessert in the Eden Cafe and this cake actually has some chocolate flavor unlike the buffet or Cafe cakes
  22. One can even save a step by not clicking on threads that don't interest them...Unlike many of other threads on here, my title crystal clear to what you're going to get by clicking on it
  23. Using Transeero (website and app) was able to get a private transport 100 Euros each way which includes tips; they even had free wifi. This is same price for one or two people and was only a bit more to add a 3rd person, didn't have a third person so can't specifically recall how much but was cheap. I'd argue even if you're solo, splurging on your own private ride where they're waiting to greet you while holding a sign with your names is well worth the extra $36 USD (100 Euros = $108 USD) to not be on a bus
