  1. The reason we like it is when you walk into the room it feels bigger and you have more space. Also we like laying in bed and looking out in the morning. But either configuration is fine with us.
  2. Same here. If I had know, then it's up to me to pay the premium price for Celebrity. But, I booked and made my final payment... then they changed it after I paid in full. That's not right. They sold me one thing and took full payment then changed what I bought......
  3. If they want nightlife it's not for them. Any of the places mentioned above is hit or miss. Sad to say there is a tradeoff..... Nice ships like Celebrity or nightlife. We have talked many times about there isn't much to do at night on Celebrity especially if you don't drink.
  4. Been on all 3, mainly Carnival since Covid due to price. We didn't experience any of the negatives you mentioned so we must have just gotten lucky. Love their food options and overall entertainment. But, we don't travel during kid vacation times either... makes a difference Anyway, been on 12 ish Celerity cruises and heading back in a few weeks. If I was a 17 yo I'm not sure I'd like Celebrity. Definitely not as exciting as Carnival. Royal or Carnival would be my choice but have fun whatever you decide.
  5. Remember those days. Wall to wall people. Even being Elite had no bearing. I think suites were the only ones spared the wait.
  6. It's not that..... they have so many, say 11:30 times. If a bunch of people ignore their check in time and show up at 11:30, that is not fair to the people that have that time slot. It's just rude, that's all. And if people are OK with it.. fine. Fits in well with the "all about me" society we have
  7. The good part is workout clothes wash and dry easily since they are usually light and quick dry...... Many times I just use the sink..... takes 10 min.
  8. Ha ha, agree. Many times we don't even take our fins. Not usually needed so much less space.
  9. I have the exact same thing and I live in Florida. Not going to fret.... used this TA many, many times.
  10. Agree 100%. Carnival has some great daytime foods! MDR isn't bad either. And I get 2 lobster tails..... lol
  11. See what jean posted above. Was trying to find my review but don't have it. If I find it I'll come back and link it. Go see the turtles first before anyone else gets there!
  12. We only sail the Caribbean because I don't think a cruise is a good way to visit 'cool' places. We used to take Celebrity all the time but the value isn't there for us anymore. They have pretty much backed themselves down to mainstream but haven't reflected that in the price. Although, we found a pretty good deal with some nice OBC on Good Friday, So the ABC on the Equinox in 4 weeks is on tap. Otherwise we have pretty much been sailing Carnival. I know, some on here wouldn't set foot on board.... And that's OK. And I'd agree with the older ships and weekend sailings... ehhh. But anything over 7 nights on a newer ship..... hard to tell the difference. We like the 4 comedy shows every night in addition to the main show. For other trips we like to spend time exploring. We don't want to go to Greece and get off the ship at 7 and back on at 5 with 3,000 other people. To me those places are made for land based vacations. For us, sailings are pretty much Caribbean only . We only take maybe 2 sailings a year also take at least 2 other land vacations.
  13. Just heard about Surfside Beach near the pier. Not as nice as Palm or Eagle....
  14. Rent a car on Curacao and go snorkeling. Lot's of great places. We do it every time we visit. Going to do it again in a few weeks. Better snorkeling than Aruba. Besides, Aruba has some very nice beaches...
  15. Hey all, Going to be on Aruba Easter Monday, a holiday on the island. It's my understanding that the stores are pretty much closed and the beaches are kind of packed since everyone has a 3 day weekend. Lot's of people set up tents for the weekend. Never been on a holiday so not sure but, that's what someone on our roll call said. We wanted to go to the beach but we don't get in until 11 so getting to the beach early isn't posibile. Afraid it will be packed by the time we get there. Anyone have first hand experience being there on a holiday? Also thinking of a snorkel tour but we are snorkeling on the other 3 islands so just wanted a chill day. Thanks
  16. I think she meant that she had some OBC that was being refunded and they just had this refunded too. Some OBC is refundable.
  17. Not sure the issue but.... I was in the Emergency room on a Thursday night and sailed on that Saturday..... with a lot of drugs. lol So don't rule out the cruise..... Again, no idea of the issue so it might not be feasible...... My thought was if I'm going to be in some pain, I might as well do it on a cruise then sitting at home. Wish you the best
  18. Agree... we made final payment before they changed room service. We have it every day for breakfast so for us it was an important benefit. I convinced my wife to try Celebrity with the lure of a hot breakfast delivered to her cabin. lol Now its another $25 a day... not the end of the world but for 10 days it adds up. More importantly it's what I bought.
  19. we used to sail exclusively on Celerity. Not as long as many of these folks but we remember the last M ships and when the S class came out. Talk about excitement!!! lol Since Covid we have pretty much sailed on Carnival. Started because we were getting $60 5 day balcony cruises and $150 8 night balcony cruises. Kept checking Celebrity but the prices were just more than I wanted to pay. Recently found a decent 9 night ABC cruise on the Equinox with $550 OBC so I jumped on it. Thank you Black Friday sales..... lol But along the way, we enjoyed Carnival and will go back. The entertainment is very good. At least 2 comedy shows a night which we like, sometimes 4. Decent shows for the most part. Food choices, Carnival is way ahead. For lunch they have the MDR, buffet, Guys Burger, the Mexican place, a great deli, the Italian eatery (pay at dinner) and a very good BBQ joint.. Since no more free room service and a scaled back MDR on Celebrity, the difference isn't that great anymore but the price certainly is. Going to enjoy this cruise as we have a very large balcony, free Elite drinks and we are going to the ABC's... how could you not have fun. But will probably go back to Carnival for price alone.
  20. Thanks. We were going to have a beach day but it's going to be Easter Monday which is a holiday in Aruba and I hear the beaches are packed so looking for a snorkel tour
  21. I think just the opposite. Love the freedom to get drinks from any bar and be able to walk around with them. have never been to the Elite breakfast as we’ve always gotten room service… well… we used to anyway.
  22. Assumed..... we all know what that means....lol . That stinks but I think I would have went ready to snorkel.... I wouldn't have wanted to take a tender back to the ship then back to the port...... Next time.....
  23. Ditto... want to snorkel but don't want to go to Stingray City again. If we can't find anything we will just walk over to Eden Rock and go from there
