  1. I was on Vista on the New Years cruise and almost cancelled Embers due to negative comments. I’m glad I didn’t as food and service was very good, I also liked the understated decor very much. We were seated in a side section and that seemed to be less loud than sitting in the center.
  2. There’s no advantage about not getting a travel agent that gives you a rebate
  3. Absolutely, and if Regent starts doing this more frequently people will vote with their wallets and move to another cruise line or different mode of travel. Until recently Regent, as a matter of course, would apply the $100 administrative fee to a new booking. That they wont do this in this case seems intended to irritate the customer
  4. I think that level gives you some status, I just got Avíos tickets with them and read if I cancel it’ll cost me $55 to redeposit my Avíos as. I have zero status with them , just lots of Avíos 😃
  5. Were you not penalized by BA on your cancellation because you have status with them?
  6. I have been to both cities on my own, specially Madrid, which I love. One thing Ive noticed is that the Regent add on tours in Madrid treat it just as a base to go to places like Toledo and Segovia. Dont get me wrong , those destinations are very special, but Madrid is a fabulous city which deserves several days on its own. Both cities are very different, Madrid is the quintessential Spanish city IMO. I think that to hit the highlights in each city you need at least 3-4 days days in each. Travel between Barcelona and Madrid in train is very easy on the fast train, about 2.5 hours
  7. I don’t know why some would consider this a hardship 😂😂
  8. What ship are you sailing? Our routine on Splendor last month was to go to Observation Lounge for a drink around 7 pm and then go to Compass Rose around 7:45 to request a table. 99% of the times we were told there’ll be a short wait. So we went to Splendor Lounge , right next to CompassRose, and they came to get us when our table was ready. Sometimes the wait was 5 minutes, sometimes about 15 minutes
  9. No availability with Avíos on Iberia on their Madrid to Chicago flight?
  10. Would it be a problem for you to give your actual cabin number? I’ll be on deck 7 on Grandeur and would like to avoid that. I must say that’s very odd, in none of our close to 200 nights aboard Regent ships, in all ships except Grandeur yet), we’ve heard even a whisper coming from our neighboring cabins.
  11. IMO Destination “Services” is the Achilles heel of the onboard product, it’s shocking how little they know about any of the destinations they purport to serve
  12. Thankfully I didn’t go through that , I’m not in the Mariner, and thanks to pax reporting on it not planning to be until Regent does a dry dock ( and hopefully a permanent fix ) which based on your reporting won’t be until late 2025
  13. Outrageous. I hope you’re duly compensated
  14. When you’re the statistic the problem hasn’t been solved
  15. Disappointing??? But other than that, Mrs Lincoln ,how was the play?
  16. Too bad its not the same but sounds pretty good!
  17. I thought of you several times and thought of going around deck calling “pingpong anyone” but thought people would think I was nuts 😜 Now that we canceled our Mariner 2024 our next cruise is also on Grandeur 2025! We have booked a back to back starting in Southampton on June 11, 2025 and ending in Reykjavik on 7/7 . Is that by any chance yours?
  18. Do you know what’s the date for that?
  19. So sorry you’re going through this, I would be very upset. Several passengers are also posting about it on Regent Facebook page. Mainly due to this we have just canceled our June 2024 Mariner cruise, don’t feel like dealing with this risk. I hope you’ll get some sort of compensation and give one of the newer Regent ships a chance. We just go off from Splendor, 21 days Med/ transatlantic and it was almost flawless
  20. I just did an onboard booking and was told that what you describe is still the case
  21. Ohhhh… I’ll have to go back to Sette Mari to try the Carbonara!
  22. I also have Verizon. If you’re using this for more than 10 days it’s more cost effective to use their one month for $100. That’s what I do when I’m traveling in Europe ( not cruising)
  23. Thanks Flgreg. I’ve done some checking and right now the Barcelona Port website has the Splendor on November 20 at the Adossat pier terminal B I attach copy of calendar and map
