  1. Maybe many here would disagree with me, but if this is your first, and maybe only trip to Europe, I would not recommend a cruise. If I was in your situation I would pick the countries in Europe I’m interested in visiting and find a top shelf tour company that has a tour covering those countries. Tauck Tours comes to mind
  2. I’ve been on Navigator several times, last time November 2019, that was probably one of my best cruises! I would have no reservations, except I never book an aft cabin because it vibrates in that area
  3. Boy, do I appreciate you chiming in, we have a NY to Iceland booked on Mariner for next year and I was about to cancel after reading the OPs comment!!
  4. I was in your cruise and agree 100%, although I sometimes saw chairs in the sun being “ reserved” as well
  5. On my 11 night Splendor cruise that just ended we were told the ship was 96% full
  6. Maybe it’s time to go do something else and give other people a chance
  7. Interesting… I disembarked Splendor yesterday and our cruise was plagued with passengers blatantly reserving lounge chairs. I spoke to the GM Mr Galzy about this, and he said they couldn’t remove passengers belonging as that could result in a liability issue , plus they didn’t have the staff to monitor how long things were unattended on a chair. Time will tell if they indeed enforce this policy, it’s not the first time that they have instituted it.
  8. I enjoyed very much the Lemon Duo on Splendor this past cruise. I had the opportunity to chat with them , they’re a sweet couple from Argentina. They’re very eager to please and play a wide variety of music, even tango!
  9. If you think this is the only chance you’ll have to visit Sevilla then do that. Cadiz is in its own right a charming city. I would not even consider taking a tour to Gibraltar, went there years ago as a stop on a cruise and was mildly interesting but imo not enough to warrant a special excursion to it
  10. You will not feel any “cabin vibration “ if you don’t book an aft cabin. Voyager’s cabin vibration is also on aft cabins
  11. The Navigator started service in 2000 , I last cruised on her in 2019 and was surprised how well kept up she was. Sorry for your troubles, you were not aware the Navigator vibrates in the back? It’s been the case from day one
  12. For your sake I hope they correct the problem on time
  13. Really? Quite brazen to say that to a guide I presume is a local
  14. No!! Enough already! Imagine living with this level of paranoia
  15. Please, could those of you that have been recently on Splendor comment on the availability of Fever Tree tonic onboard? Last time I was on Regent ( 3 years ago) they only had Schweppes Ugh!!
  16. That’s fine, and they should, but this board is called Cruise “Critic” for a reason. I welcome hearing the good with the bad, specially since I’m going on the Splendor in a few weeks. Hope they don’t run out of Fever Tree !
  17. Glad to hear this, but I find it horrible that Regent never contacted you , actually seems like they talked you into returning home!
  18. Sorry you decided to do that, from what I understand the ship hasnt left yet
  19. I think it would be very difficult, if not impossible, for cruise lines to continue to exclude non vaccinated persons when the CDC has in essence now said there’s no difference between them and vaccinated persons as far as infection and transmission. I for one I’m glad they’re doing it even though it doesn’t impact my situation.
  20. Yet everyone jumping ship , so to speak, due to the change in policy are ok with sharing close quarters in planes for hours with people with unknown vaccination status 🙄 Makes sense…
  21. It’s been my pet peeve from the beginning. On a side note, I would love for them to not give us so many “free” excursions but lowered their pricing
