  1. While I haven't sailed on the Pearl, I have sailed on all of her sister Jewel-class ships. I love that class of ship; comfortable size, very easy to get around. Real promenade deck, excellent public spaces including the Great Outdoors and the Spinnaker Lounge. I've also sailed on the Celebrity Summit, after she was "revolutionized" in 2019. She's a terrific ship in beautiful, elegant condition. I don't know the exact itineraries your friends are looking at, but I might well pick the Summit over the Pearl. It's a hard decision and probably would be affected by the cabin category. Either way, they should have a great time!
  2. There are in fact cable locks made for luggage. (Not as heavy as bike locks.) Here’s one option. https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-Creek-Travel-Gear-Cable/dp/B001M0O0EE/ref=asc_df_B001M0O0EE/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312131029872&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9865212635424838691&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9008181&hvtargid=pla-338984803345&psc=1
  3. How long ago was this? After the return to sail, folks reported getting that OBC, but not recently. It seems that once the ships started offering the wine tasting again as a Lats benefit, they stopped giving out the OBC.
  4. Sorry I didn’t see your reply sooner. CC as you may know was having log in issues. Re the dry dock and the tub/showers: The GM might know, maybe the Concierge (for the suites). Engineering/plumbers? 😊 I just saw your Nutella-filled donut. OMG. I love Nutella, that looked amazing. Safe and fun travels!!
  5. I can't recall being bothered about the noise level in any Cagney's in which we've eaten. (It's really is not a fine dining restaurant.) My concern is the uneven quality of the service and the food that we've experienced over the years.
  6. This is a fascinating thread, thanks to all who have contributed. My passport has five years left on it, so like others above, I hope the technology is even better by then.
  7. Or, if you were a lawyer, you’d realize you’d go nowhere fast with that lawsuit.
  8. Thanks for taking us along on your cruise, I hope you have a great one! As I understand it, the Gem is going into dry dock after your cruise. If you have a chance to ask anyone who might know, there’s definitely interest here on CC in learning whether NCL during the dry dock will be removing the tub/shower combo in the staterooms that have them (Club Balcony Suites and some non-Haven Suites) and putting in stall showers (as it has on other Jewel-class ships). Thanks! We love the Gem, have a wonderful trip!
  9. If that kind of non-service happens (and if the butler service is important to you), you should speak to the concierge.
  10. Just curious as to who is telling you this? I'm just trying to figure out the best person/dept within NCL to find out the correct info for our port calls in Jan. and Feb. Thanks!
  11. Except that the aft-facing Penthouses on Decks 8 and 9 are in the same booking/price category. Also, the aft-facing Penthouses on Deck 10 do get butler services, and those suites are much closer to the Penthouses on the two lower decks than anything in the forward portion of the ship.
  12. Thanks very much for sharing that Disney video, it was interesting to see a transit through the new locks. A technical note: at the very beginning of the video, when the ship is starting her transit from the Atlantic entrance, the video identifies the bridge she is going under as the "Puente Centenario" -- the Centennial Bridge. That's not correct. The Centennial Bridge (as I noted in an earlier comment) spans the Continental Divide. The bridge at the Atlantic entrance to the Canal is the new Atlantic Bridge. (Disney video! 😂)
  13. NCL began inserting that language prior to the pandemic as it changed the categories of some of the non-Haven suites on the Jewel-class ships effective Fall of 2020 (for example, carving out the Deck 10 aft-facing Penthouses into their own [and more expensive] category; previously, all of the aft-facing Penthouses on Decks 8-10 had been in the same category). Then the pandemic hit and I don't think anything more has really been said about the "concierge and butler in SOME" language (which is absurdly vague). Most important, as far as I have seen here, no one has reported since the return to sail that those suites have NOT included butler and concierge services (although it is possible that the non-Haven suites may not have 24-hour butler services). Enjoy your suite and the Gem!
  14. Thank you to your and your team for working on this and keeping us updated!
  15. Just an update: my iPhone, after sending me into the endless loop of not being able to log on for the past few hours, just suddenly recognized me as logged on. Hope others are having the same experience!
  16. 1:15pm ET USA: After going through the mess of clearing the CC cookies and cache on my Windows PC, then being locked out for 15 minutes because my credentials still weren't recognized, and finally being able to log back in, I've just been kicked out again and had to log in again.
  17. That’s exactly what is going on on my iPhone. Same screen shots. You can’t get to a log in screen and the “log in or register” blue button is dead.
  18. My problem now is that I've been logged out by CC on my iPhone but NO log in box is accessible, I can't get to one, and the "Login or Register" box is totally unresponsive. (I've deleted the CC cookies repeatedly, so this is not the issue.) This has happened before, and CC needed to push through a fix. (see thread below) Flagging for @CC Help Michell
  19. Just to close the loop on my post above: early this morning, both my wife and I received our TAs for our Nov. 12 cruise. (We'd submitted the applications on Oct. 12.) I guess they are now getting to our cruise.
  20. Thanks for the prompt reply! I had in fact cleared the cookies, but was still locked out. Fortunately, after the 15-minute lock out, I was able to get back on. Same issue just occurred on my iPad.
  21. I read the green banner notice and know that we’d be logged out today and we’d need to log back in. I had no problem logging back in on my iPhone, which is how I’m posting this. But on my Windows PC, CC is not recognizing my log in credentials. I cleared my cache, but that did not help. My credentials were still not recognized. Now the screen says my account has been locked for 15 minutes. Help please. Thanks Flagging for @CC Help Michell and for @CC Help Jenn Edited to add: all I see now when I click on Boards is the Test Page for the Apache HTTP server. The page goes on to say that I should tell you I’m seeing it.
  22. Thanks for that info about St. Thomas and San Juan, very interesting.
