  1. Wow, this thread is really going off the rails with unfounded speculation. 🙄
  2. Some years ago, the salad bar in Moderno was quite good imho. But it then went downhill, and that was even before the pandemic.
  3. Thanks for posting. It is interesting to be in the last of group of something. It certainly helped the check-in process at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal on Saturday (November 12, NCL Joy) for workers not to have to ask guests to produce a Bermuda TA.
  4. We always do a final check with a flashlight. We also put our smaller items (house keys, car keys, passports, etc) into one big ziplock bag. It’s harder to “lose” a big bag in the safe than it is the smaller items.
  5. I don’t think it’s worth paying for even if you are eating the meats. Just based on my own experience dining at Moderno several times (including on the Jewel), NCL just hasn’t been able to pull off a churrascaria. The meats are typically of poor quality, and usually cold. There’s just not enough volume in the restaurant to make the concept work. If you’re using up a FAS dinner, fine if you have a number of them, but Moderno would not be high on my list.
  6. Just to reiterate for folks, a year to “use it” means not only to apply it to a cruise within a year, but also to sail within that year. Not so easily done for all of us.
  7. Is there something in the terms of the CN certificates that prohibits using an FCC on the same cruise? If not, there shouldn’t be a problem.
  8. That’s correct, we just had a price drop after final payment on a cruise in February. We have been told by NCL that after completion of that cruise, we will be given an FCC in the amount of the price difference, and that the FCC must be used within a year from that date (applied and sailed). You can only make one request for this per cruise, even if the price drops again.
  9. May I suggest that since this thread is two years old, and is a review thread, you might want to start a new thread with a title like Looking for recent information on HOHO bus in Cartagena. Good luck and enjoy your trip!
  10. I doubt that you realize this, but you are using a font, I think probably Comic Sans, that, when viewed on mobile devices, such as a phone, comes across as very thin, italic letters, and extremely difficult to read. It would be great if you would switch to a different type face, so that the information that you have to impart can be readily accessible to everyone. Most folks have switched away from that type face for that reason. Thank you very much.
  11. And then, when you get to the cruise terminal (as we did on Saturday to board the Joy), you will often find that no one is checking arrival times.
  12. The elevator wasn’t running. Having given our bags to a porter, we took an escalator down to the check-in level. It was really an easy process.
  13. When we sailed on the Breakaway a year ago, porters were stationed on the parking deck, as they were on Saturday. I think this is a new procedure that began with the return to sail. I like it.
  14. You’ve misunderstood the OP’s question. They are asking about the situation in which *they* have to cancel the cruise – – what would NCL refund? OP: I asked my PCC about this exactly for the reason you are asking — what is not-refundable and therefore needs to be insured? My PCC said that if you cancel the cruise at the last minute (in other words, in the full penalty period), NCL *will* refund the taxes and port fees, gratuities on the beverage and dining packages, and (if you’ve pre-paid them) the daily grats. So no need to insure those expenses with your third party travel insurer.
  15. The check-in and embarkation process for the Joy on Saturday, Nov.12, was extremely efficient. Those who parked at the pier were able to give their checked bags to a porter on the parking deck, no need to go down to another level to do this. And since Bermuda has dropped the TA requirement for anyone arriving on or after Nov. 14, no one was asked to show a TA, which helped speed up the check-in process. Also, when we entered the terminal, no one was checking for anyone's scheduled arrival time. If NCL isn't going to do this, perhaps they should stop making folks get an arrival time in the first place. The security lines moved quickly, and then the actual check-in was divided up by decks. (E.g., one set of desks handled check-in for decks 12-15, etc.) At the check-in desks, those without embarkation priority were given a card with a boarding group number. Latitudes members in the tiers with priority embarkation (Platinum and higher) were not given boarding group cards at all. Instead, they called Latitudes members for boarding after those needing special assistance, and those in suites, and did so in order of Latitudes tier level (and our Sea Pass cards were checked for that). We've never encountered that type of boarding of Latitudes members before, even last year sailing on the Breakaway out of NY. Is this new?
  16. Closing the loop here, since yesterday was embarkation. The map app on our friends' phones showed the Lincoln Tunnel to be clear, and so they took that route. I had carefully explained to them, however, why and how they should go north on 10th Avenue rather than 12th. Nevertheless, they still went up 12th, and said it took them 15 minutes to make the left turn onto 55th Street. Nothing awful in the grand scheme of things, but totally avoidable. 😂
  17. While the credit is for the first person on the reservation, it’s no longer one credit per port. It can be applied to more than one excursion in a port, as long as they don’t overlap in time.
  18. The localized references happen wherever you see the show.
  19. We saw SIX twice on the Breakaway, where we fell in love with it, and subsequently saw the American touring company. It’s the same show, except that the Queens on the Breakaway, at least when we were aboard a year ago, were all Brits and thus had British accents. On Broadway and in the touring company, the Queens are speaking and singing in American English. It’s still a great and fun show; take your daughter! A month ago, we saw SIX in London. Absolutely the best production we’ve seen.
  20. If the tour doesn’t operate, wouldn’t you get your money back?
