Where the ship docks in San Francisco can we walk to anything interesting? Do we have to take a tour or is there something close by?

Sorry about the confusion. We will be on a major cruise line that offers a one day tour including a Nile experience. Choice of tour is sailboat or tourboat. It is being called a "cruiseboat". Trying to decide which may be best. Although most our cruises have been on Princess and will be for the future, it is not offered at this time. I have asked this question on another board without helpful response. For years I have received help on this board. Know I can depend on it. Thanks to all!

Thank you for responding, it helps. This is our first Carnival cruise in years, not sure where we can have lunch since we will not board till after 1:30. It has been very time consuming to find times for most of the eating venues.

Can any one tell me which food venues are open on the day we arrive? And times they are open.

Can't get straight answer when I read about the Italian venue. Has anyone recently eaten there during lunch times. Is there acost as there is during dinner times. Website for Carnival reads $16 for dinner. Other guest have written excellent lunch no charge. Thanks for your help.
