  1. I have done it on a pale pink and a slightly off-white and the off-white especially had a lovely pearlescent sheen. Better than I have achieved just using nail polish. I haven't tried it on a nude colour yet but that is my next experiment.
  2. He's younger than me and I am 63. Anyway age is just a number some people seem to get stuck, so let's just aim to have fun.🙂
  3. For any who might judge the above comment as elitist. We do our own laundry and house cleaning when at home but our cruises are an escape from reality and that is part of the joy. Julie
  4. 🤣You know where it is you just refuse to go there. Even Keith goes there to press a jacket or shirt at the last moment on the odd occasion. Hope all is good with you and your family. Julie
  5. Totally agree that this is one topic we avoid. We are happy with what we got and what we are doing so why look to make yourself unhappy comparing prices with others. Agree with many on here that July sailings of Norwegian Fjords is popular so best to book early and keep a watch out for bonus offers and see if you can negotiate to get the new offer.
  6. When I was onboard in July/August on Sojourn they didn't offer dipped powder only gel, acrylic and standard. I did find the choice of colours limited and generally conservative but that's just me.🙂. I am taking some chrome powders for my long Quest cruise and hopefully they are okay to use them and mix things up a bit.
  7. Hi Isklaar, we will be visiting Fort de France next March and wondered if you or your friends have been and enjoyed it? Thanks galeforce, we would enjoy that tour if we ever got to Deshaies. Unfortunately not on our schedule next year.
  8. My husband and I enjoy that show and have wondered where it is filmed. So thank you for solving the mystery for us.
  9. You do know you can order toast with the rest of your breakfast while seated at the Colonnade? As I said before, I am sorry your cruise was a disappointment and glad you have an alternative that makes you happy as Seabourn is obviously not the right fit. I currently have friends cruising on Sojourn, Odyssey and Venture and they are all happy on their cruises.
  10. A few years ago I had a Penthouse on Sojourn and after disembarking Sojourn went to Ovation where we had the Owner's Suite (#741) which is mid ship. Friends onboard Ovation had a Penthouse. In my opinion the Penthouse was much nicer and seemed more spacious on Ovation and we felt if we did this again we would just pay for the Penthouse on Ovation/Encore ships. The Owner's Suite while nice wasn't much different to the Penthouse.
  11. This is correct. You are asked to leave your suite by 8am though it shouldn't be a problem if it is soon after 8am. We tend to leave the ship by 9am as everything feels disruptive and crowded in public areas and the crew are trying to get ready for the next cruise, especially with extra cleaning they may have to do due to Covid. Think how many ask on here how early they can board the ship so it is a push - pull situation for the crew.
  12. The resort I am staying in at the moment is a One & Only Resort and definitely top level. The bottles are large pump bottles for the shower.
  13. Hi, Just letting you know we safely got off the island and as lovely as it was we are glad to be off from isolation. We are now staying at One and Only at Wolgan Valley 3 hours drive outside of Sydney. Anyone wanting a special treat post arrival in Sydney this is it. We have our own indoor heated lap pool, we look out onto the blue mountains where we have seen wombats and multiple kangaroos and birds. Staff are lovely, though young and from various parts of the world. We had a lovely long hike this morning. Julie
  14. I agree with SLSD. I am disheartened that this one member received such poor service but many others who have high standards are more than happy with the wine service. I don't know what went wrong with that poster's service and understand if they never sail with Seabourn again. However after multiple days, way passed gold level, we have never experienced this and we last sailed in July/August.
  15. My answer would be yes, I have unfortunately had my order lost a few years ago when written on paper and at a high end restaurant. We just didn't go back. So things happen whether high tech or older methods are used.
  16. Exactly right. So if the information is correct then this must be announced for all shareholders to be informed.
  17. No-one is stopping people writing positive things but those with a negative experience seem to take up a lot space on the board. When a post is positive it gets a "thanks very much and good to hear" which is nice to receive. But the negative experience is discussed ad infinitum to the smallest detail by others piling on with how they also had a bad experience even if it was awhile ago. I am sure that it makes for a certain anxiety and even expectation by newcomers and those who haven't sailed on Seabourn for awhile to expect the worst. I have a Grand Voyage coming up in a couple of months and I am looking forward to it. Whatever will be will be. Stuff happens. For example I am currently on Lord Howe Island. Because of high winds and small aircraft they have had to cancel flights two days in a row and people have fingers crossed for tomorrow. The people I have chatted to who have flights cancelled have remained upbeat and positive even though they have to rearrange business meetings etc. My return flight isn't until Saturday and the weather predicted is looking good. And yes I have blocked some people but some on here do write interesting blogs about ports so I have to try and skim through the negativity to learn about ports.
  18. Funny, however you prove a point. Anyone who dares to discuss they had a good time on Seabourn is labelled a cheerleader on this board these days. It seems to be a competition to see who can complain and find the most negatives to prove who is the more sophisticated critic for cruise critic. Thankfully when onboard those same critics are in the minority and coincidently seem to also have the most online presence on social media platforms. The rest of us get on with enjoying our holiday.
  19. Sorry to nitpick but Odyssey is 13 years old, she came out in 2009. I know I have seen a few people with small motorised scooters on the Odyssey class Seabourn ships. There is a mix of sliding doors and push open doors. For example on deck 8 out onto the pool deck the doors push open but to go out to the deck of Colonnade outdoor seating is sliding doors.
  20. Rather harsh and judgemental much 🤔.
  21. I hope you are right as this was one of the few glitches on our cruise. We ended up buying our own packets in Gozo but we made sure they couldn't blow away by screwing them up and putting them in a small bowl on the table.
  22. I ended up avoiding Cruise Critic for quite awhile part way through my cruise in July/August. I had a wonderful cruise. In our 35 day cruise there was occasional lapses but not anything important and staying in luxury places most of the time, especially for long stays, I find this to be expected. Obviously some on this board didn't have great cruises and I am sorry they didn't. However others like myself had thoroughly enjoyable cruises recently and are looking forward to returning. I received an email from a friend yesterday who is on Odyssey currently doing the Grand Voyage, they ignore CC. They are having a great time and said with the wine they are finding they have enough good choices in the included they are rarely buying revenue and they have a great wine cellar at home. They only have some minor complaints with some staff in guest services. They have sailed a lot on Seabourn pre-Covid and this is their first post-Covid.
  23. Sadly I checked their website today and they are closed for now with no indication when they will restart.
  24. Your TA is incorrect. We didn't have Seabourn Shield and we got all 10 days refunded back as FCC. We were told we had only a certain amount of time to book a cruise but that was easy as we booked a cruise for August next year that included all the ports we missed.
