  1. Carnival allows each passenger to carry on one unopened 12 pack of soft drinks does NCL allow that or has anyone put some in their bag and what happened. We will be leaving from Tampa and live in Tampa.

I thought Carnival had changed policy to forbid any carried on drinks? Are you sure they are allowing soda?

  2. A court of public opinion really means a hill of beans in the end, when accusing a company of illegal actions.

I just feel if someone is going to throw around bait and switch around, they should back that up. Too many people use that term on here and I've never read anything that would fall under that category.

You will find that the court of public opinion actually means quite a bit more than legal action when it comes to these big corporations. Look what happened to United Airlines when the court of public opinion got a hold of video footage of a passenger being dragged unconscious down the aisle, after refusing to give up the seat he paid for, when ordered to do so by an Airline employee. They lost Millions and possibly billions due to losing in that court of public opinion. While I don't think that the OP is correct in their complaints against Norwegian, you cannot reasonably dismiss their complaints, here at Cruise Critic, as being worthless in their effect.

  3. Prior to my cruise on Norwegian Pearl last week I tried to find some pictures of the cabin I would be occupied without much success so I took a few photos so maybe others searching will find these. The cabin was comfortable except for the lack of seating. The only chair in the room I was at the vanity and had no arms which tends to make a chair less comfortable to sit and read in and also more difficult to get up from if you are Mobility impaired. The cabin is an accessible obstructed ocean view cabin.b3cedf13751f9ece49ea21b3ada24e9c.jpg1f483a62d319db114e33ed7441bf0ff4.jpg840aadc922b35094caa881d2548b22a4.jpg2bc78cdeff1270f1d4153bd1a7ea9432.jpg89f8fd0298df37868965d9964a20c8d4.jpg8f24d6928ad978c68e32c171981b6dc9.jpg

  4. Carnival and NCL handle B2B pretty much the same. You will be escorted off the ship, through immigration and then back on the ship when boarding opens up.
A person above said that you can't re-enter your NCL cabin until they say all the cabins are ready. If true this is VERY different than Carnival! On Carnival if I was staying in the same room I've never had any restriction on my access to the room other than during the 15 or so minutes that it took the staff to hand out the new sail & Sign cards and walk us past customs. When staying in a different room my room steward transferred my belongings to the new room and the new room steward had put a rush on getting the room ready so there was only a very small amount of additional lack of access.

  5. If you think it is bait and switch, take them to court.
He is taking it to court, the court of public opinion that is!!! That is sometimes more effective than paying massive legal fees and trying to combat a large corporation in the legal arena. That being said, the onboard credit given by travel agents is based on the actual dollars spent on the cruise and if part of the price is a cruise credit and not dollars the travel agent does not get paid for that portion so they can't afford to give onboard credit for that portion.

  6. Exactly and this should be the end of the discussion......PICK ANOTHER PERK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY THE BAR SERVICE CHARGE. No, I'd rather whine and complain.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
I agree! NCL has the cheapest solo Sail Away rates in the industry so if you don't like the service charge of the drink package snag yourself a super cheap balcony cabin and count yourself happy!

  7. Here is the breakout for 2 people booking through these crooks

    Down payment = 17.98

Receipt shows down payment plus balance due of $70.00

Belize excursion charge to my Cc 110.97

I apologize for rounding to 130.00

Shore Excursioneer are crooks and the good thing about all this, I have proof of the charges and it's only a little more than a week this happened.

I understand that you were charged more than you expected to be for the tour but indeed that charge was by the tour operator itself not by Shore excursioneer who are more of a booking agent for the tours. More than likely the extra charge on your credit card was probably a foreign transaction fee rather than a service charge. In other words your credit card company may have been the ones who charged you the fee rather than the tour operators or the booking agent. Unless the deposit you paid to Shore Excursioneer was a larger amount then what you had been promised you can't really blame them for the credit card charge entered by the tour operators. Oh and in case you did not know Viator is also a tour booking agent and not the operator of the tours they represent.

  8. I've used them many times and indeed have three tours booked with them for my next Cruise. They have within my experience been trustworthy but they don't have control of what happens on the tours since they don't run the tours they simply act as a middleman to book the tours. If it ends up that you don't enjoy a tour or there's any problem with the tour then you simply need to report back to shore excursioneer the difficulty because I'm sure if they received enough complaints about a particular tour they would exclude it from their site.

  9. On my recent "turn around day" during my B2B, a lady who needed wheelchair assistance almost got mixed in with the B2B'ers and get right on before normal boarding. Later saw her running across the deck with burning feet to get to the pool. She was never in a wheelchair again.

There may be people who abuse this service but the vast majority truly have a need. I use a cane to walk any significant distance unless I want to endure significant pain. When on our recent cruise I did get wheelchair assistance to get on board and to exit the ship. I used my cane when in Port to get to the shuttle for my tour but had great difficulty with this. When going to karaoke I used my cane to make it to the lounge where this took place and then found a seat 10 ft from the mic. I then went without a cane to the microphone to sing because I didn't want to perform with cane. Lots of people who require assistance don't necessarily use there assistive devices every moment. It is extremely embarrassing to have to use assistive devices and know that others are staring at you and judging you! Until you live every day of your life with pain don't be so quick to judge.

    Francis,

My family all refer to me as positively grim when it comes to sense of humor and I am known for taking everybody absolutely literally but even I knew within five seconds that this was all a joke! You really do need to lighten up!

Alternatively you can think of it this way,

When they destroyed all those people on the deck they did away with most of the chair Hogs!

  11. If you require a wheel chair, why are you not bringing your own? Celebrity (and all other cruise lines, that I know of) do not provide wheel chairs. Some may help you to board, but that is it and it is very difficult to snag one. If you cannot board a ship on your own, then IMO you need one for the duration of your cruise. (how do you get from point A to point B during your cruise). I truly have never understood this question from anyone. Yes, I am disabled and have my own.

That's not true. All Cruise Lines that cruise out of a US port provide wheelchairs at embarkation and debarcation. Indeed it's to their advantage to do so since otherwise the ramps leading to and from the ship at those times would be crowded with very slow moving disabled people using walkers.

  12. Has anyone on this board actually managed to get a refund of their future cruise deposits with this sort of argument?

Besides, the most they will do is refund your money (taking into account the OBC you already got), so you will have gone to all the trouble for nothing. On the other hand, if you know how to sell, you can end up $50+ ahead for your efforts, per certificate.

In fact most people do not pay $150 for their future Cruise certificate when they buy two of these. When you buy two at one time you get them $250 for two certificates. So this guy probably paid $125 each for his two certificates and was sort of hoping someone here would want to buy them at face value giving him a big profit.

  13. I was on this cruise. Once the bombardment started, the line at guest services quickly swelled and was all the way around the atrium of people wanting to remove tips. That is, until seawater swamped us.... but I was lucky. I held my Iphone above the water.

I didn't have to wait in line to remove tips. I'm Platinum! In addition to having a priority line at the information desk, we also get a priority line onto the lifeboats hence my survival!

  14. We were able to book a last minute girls trip on the Breeze for next weekend and are so excited! I have been on 3 previous cruises on 3 other cruise lines but each seemed to have their own way of doing certain things. However this is the first time that no one in my party has had prior experience with the line.

    1. Room Cards - how do you carry your room card around? Do you use a lanyard with a sleeve/punch a hole/just carry it? And once you are in the room are the lights/ac turned on by putting it in a slot?

    2. Bubbles - I have read several boards and am a little confused. Is this a fountain drink/bar drink gun or is it purely poured out of cans? Can you use this to get drinks in the MDR? Does everyone in the room have to get the Bubbles package? (My cabin has already decided that we do not drink enough to make the Cheers package worth it and I am not a soda drink - it looks like this can be done online, but I don't want to find out later that it was automatically added on.)

    3. Dining - We are listed as 6:00 (confirmed) and Your Time (waitlisted). If we are busy (port activities) and do not have time to get ready in time for the 6:00 time, can we still go to the anytime dining room or should we plan on eating at the buffet?

This board is amazing and I have already gotten some great information. Thank you!

    Above is a partial quote.

    1. Room cards- I use a lanyard and recommend that you do the same. It's so much more convenient then carrying a purse or wallet around with you.

    2. Bottomless bubbles gives you Unlimited juices and soda pops. For me it's worth it but it's an individual thing. I have often purchased a bottle of Vodka from Bon Voyage Department and then carried vodka in my Carnival Tervis mug around in the evening to spike my juice. If you do not usually drink anything other than tea, coffee, or water then you probably don't need to purchase this.

    3. You can request a change to my time dining when you get on board the first afternoon but if you are new to Carnival Cruise Line you may not receive it. I'm Platinum so I always get the dining time I want because that's one of the perks. If you are assigned to fixed 6 p.m. dining and you can't get ready in time for that dining time then you will need to eat at the buffet. But you will not be in Port when dining time begins since the ships final boarding time is before the earliest dining time. The only exception to this are cruises that are staying overnight in a port.

  15. It is called scamming but feel free, since most people on this site thinks scamming/cheating/smuggling is ok, since rules don't apply to them. Why should you use the service on all your luggage that you did not pay for? I suppose all the people who actually paid for the service can have their luggage delayed so you can use the service for both cabins.

I could be misunderstanding but it sounds like the OP is saying that he tried to buy faster to the fun for both rooms and just couldn't get it. So I don't think he was trying to get away with not paying the fifty bucks.

  16. My husband doesn't eat breakfast and I am a major grump in the morning so I am thinking it may be best to order room service each morning. We would probably want coffee for him and eggs, bacon, toast, and juice for me. How long does it typically take to arrive? Is there a charge? What is a good amount to tip?

I don't know if it's still available on the room service menu but they used to have a BLT sandwich on the free room service menu. I would order continental breakfast and then order a BLT sandwich and have them hold the tomato lettuce and mayo. It comes with chips but if you bring a little ziplock baggie with you on vacation you can stick the chips in that and have them to munch on in front of the TV later.
