    D726 is on the port side of the ship where no smoking is allowed on deck 7. D727 is on the starboard side where crew and passengers are allowed to smoke on deck 7.

    Be aware that if you’re non smokers, you may have a problem with this cabin. Crew and passengers can smoke all the way aft on deck 7. The smell of cigarette smoke often wafts up to the balcony and sometimes even into the cabin of D727. We sailed the Discovery in D727 on our last cruise, and our balcony was unusable.

    We will be first time cruisers with HAL in April of 2024. Does anyone know if smoking allowed in the casino of the Westerdam?

    On the Discovery the first part of October, they were included in the plus package.

    We just got off the Discovery Princess. The court is for pickleball.

    On one of our cruises, there was a Halloween display in the piazza. Some of the crew dressed up, but not many passengers.

    We reported it to the suite manager and the hotel general manager.

    Deck 17 starboard aft has an outside smoking area. There may be others, but that and 7 aft are the ones I know for sure. Indoors, the Casino and Churchill’s allow smoking.

    We’re on deck 9 starboard aft. We can smell smoke on our balcony from the smoking area on deck 7 aft. Sometimes it’s so bad, it makes the balcony unusable.

    We went to the Rock Opera and thought it was fabulous; one of the best shows we’ve seen on a Princess cruise. Choreography and lighting were really top notch, and the performers were very talented.

    We have an aft corner suite on Dolphin deck. The balcony is huge and partially covered. The cabin appears to be the same size as any penthouse suite we’ve booked, but the bathroom may be a bit larger. Shade on the balcony depends on the position of the sun. We’ve had zero soot on the balcony.

    The International Cafe has BLTs, Chicken, and Tuna sandwiches without cheese. The server working there said you can order any sandwich without cheese, and they’ll make it for you.

    We are also on this cruise. I had the “ Chicken Waldorf Salad” from the International Cafe, and it was cubed chicken with celery and cashews and a mayonnaise dressing. Blah! I didn’t notice a shrimp salad nor if there was cheese on all the sandwiches, but I’ll look tonight and report back.

    We’re visiting Vancouver overnight before a cruise. There will be a couple occasions where we will be tipping in cash. Since the exchange rate is favorable for US citizens, would those we are tipping prefer we use US dollars?

    Yes you can. Everything gets delivered at once, but it’s a great benefit if you don’t want to go to the dining room.

    Only once the ship reaches international waters, I believe.

    I emailed and faxed my request on Aug. 13 and received a reply three days later that my $250 credit has been applied. This is for a cruise in April of 2024!

    I discovered the Toasted Almond martini at the Good Spirits bar. It’s a sweet drink, but has become one of my favorites.

    If you have the plus package, you can call room service and order a latte, cappuccino, or whatever you want. Brewed coffee can be ordered black or with cream or a container of warm milk.
