  1. From someone currently on Jewel: Reporting in from Jewel. The ship is in great shape. Everything is going great. Internet is not great, but ok. So delighted to have Captain Michael at the helm. He is, by far, one of the best. We have been pleasantly surprised by the new menus. So far our group has ordered a variety of items and there are no complaints. Looking forward to going to Chops this evening and Chef’s Table a little later in the week. So glad to be back on one of our favorite ships!
  2. He just booked the Jewel Greenland cruise from Cape Liberty. 😮
  3. "it all" consists of walking to a spot and having someone scan your phone. Oh, the horror.
  4. Then why did you write this: "another life boat drill probably for everyone again"
  5. I have. Negative. Fewer choices. No flexibility. Cold food. Apologetic staff just trying to do their jobs, while being squeezed from above and below.
  6. I just went on the RC website. Since I booked all of the cabins, I have the invoices which have their reservation numbers. Since they are members of my family, I know their names and birth dates. That is the data that you need to link them online.
  7. To save your vouchers for more costly drinks, e.g. BOOZE.
  8. That is a HUGE number of cabins. But that is why they give you a discount on the dining. If you want to make your reservations before your cruise, you must pay the full price in the Cruise Planner. Want a discounted price? You are trading the price factor for the flexibility factor.
  9. Changing Name That Tune actually would not be cheap, since the orchestra, singers & dancers all participate. But I agree that it would be nice. Now, the Quest and trivia are up to the Cruise Director, and a GOOD CD (and I know many, and some of them have been on the Anthem) DOES come up with new Quests (and new questions for the Love & Marriage Show.) A GOOD CD will instruct his staff to get new trivia questions. That's not a result of Anthem having been in Cape Liberty for 8 years. That's laziness on the part of CD & staff.
  10. Call the C&A number that is listed on the RC website: 800-526-9723
  11. CocoCay things certainly get more expensive. True supply and demand there. So often you see things like the Beach Club and cabanas increase in price. I'm cruising in two weeks. Cabanas were $899 when I first booked the cruise last spring. I asked my family if they wanted to go in on one. "Nope". Then the price went up to $999 and has stayed there. Until two days ago. Two weeks to go, and there were unsold cabanas. Result? $499. 😄
  12. There will always be a medical refrigerator for those who need one. Drop an email to special_needs@rccl.com
  13. Longest running show on Broadway is Phantom of the Opera. Second is Chicago. Third is The Lion King. Cats clocks in at 4th. 🙂
  14. No need to pack laundry detergent. The stuff in the shower dispenser is actually EXCELLENT for doing laundry in the sink. After soaking and rinsing, squeeze out all excess water by hand, then lay flat on a towel, roll up the towel, and walk on the rolled up towel. Unroll and hang up the clothes to dry. It's a good method, perfected over many cruises. HOWEVER, I participated in a "discussion" on fb recently where a few people insisted that they write on their laundry bag things like: "cold water wash, warm dry" and their clothes are treated accordingly. Believe it or don't believe it. It was more than one person. I haven't tried it.
  15. The only ships with Coastal Kitchen are those in the Oasis class (Oasis, Allure, Harmony, Symphony, Wonder; soon, Utopia) and Quantum class (Quantum, Anthem, Ovation, Spectrum (sort of), Odyssey), and soon, Icon. There are no 'equivalent' things on any other ship.
  16. Example: In my closet on the Enchantment this week, the hangers are those annoying things that don't have their own hooks, but have little arm things that you stick into plastic holders on the closet rod. They don't move those. So in this instance, you have to put everything in your suitcases. This may account for some of the different reports.
  17. They ARE directly across the hall from each other and the doors DO open directly across from each other. (their interior backs up against another interior which likewise faces ITS hall across from ITS balcony cabin.)
  18. No filet or lobster. Save your money for a splurge at another port or on board.
