  1. I have done the British Isles cruise 2x in August.  We tried watching the outdoors movie on the sea day, we were only able to sit for 10 minutes with jackets and a blanket as it was cold and windy.

In May 2022, I sailed out Southampton for a Norwegian Fjords cruise.  On the sea days, it was EXTREMELY COLD and WINDY, no one was sitting out.  Passing the open outdoor automatic door at the buffet, you could feel the COLD air.  I am from Canada, it felt worst than our winter weather.

I would not spend money for the sanctuary chairs.  If you want a sanctuary chair, go on a sea day, and see if any chairs available.  British Isles cruise weather is not like a Caribbean cruise especially May weather.

What is included if you do not have the plus or premium package - if you just have the most basic option. Is it just the buffet and the normal dining rooms? Or can you still get some grab and go things from the pizza place/poolside cafes/ice cream parlor?

    Thanks!

Free - Main dining room, if your ship has International Cafe, on Lido deck - pizza slice and hamburger/hot dog/chicken burger/fries and ice cream and buffet.

  3. While on a ship excursion, a couple with a small baby brought a car seat.  They were not able to use the car seat on the bus.  The driver put the car seat in the stair well and at every stop, he had to remove the car seat each time so we could exit the bus.

  4. I was on the Island in Nov.  One of the specialty restaurants Bayou Cafe and Steakhouse was used for the causal dining - one day the Salty Dog Pub and the other day Alfredo on a sea day. No reservations needed.  Check the activity paper on the back under dining for the times and place.

Coffee was at Good Spirits deck 5 and Explorers Lounge deck 6.  Good Spirits had a trolley with breakfast items - muffins, doughnuts, croissant and later small sandwiches..

Had to dig this up from page 26. I didn't want to start another thread.🙂

Is the mini bar a onetime set up or does it get refreshed during the week? I'm looking to have the liquor swapped out for coke and sprite.

    Thanks

A one time set up. If you have -

    - 7 day - one time

    - 14 day - one time

    - B2B - one time for each cruise

In Feb, I asked my cabin attendant who I call to swap the mini bar items.  He said he could swapped my items.  I told him which items to swap with what I wanted

We just booked the Regal, August 13, 2025.  No excursion for the tattoo so far.  I will probably purchase tickets directly.  Can anyone recommend the best transportation from Glasgow to Edinburgh?  I see some recommendations to used the train, is that for both to and from Edinburgh?  Looking at the tattoo website, the tattoo starts at 9:30pm, and lasts a couple of hours.  Was that cutting it close using the train?  Would hate to miss final boarding call.

Tattoo tickets usually come out around November.

  7. I did the boat excursion 2x with Princess in 1) August 2) June.   Princess excursion stops on the way to have  Norwegian waffle and coffee.  Highly recommend. I stayed on the top deck for the whole trip.

FYI - wear warm clothes- jacket, sweater, hat, gloves, scarf, wind can be bad when moving.

  8. I stayed in L301 on the Sky.  I loved the location.  I would take this cabin anytime. The balcony is angled so bigger than a regular balcony, the cabin is the same size as regular balcony cabins.  Balcony is covered.

You are only a few steps to the elevator, Lido automatic door to hamburger, pizza, bar, lounge chairs, ice cream, pool/hot tubs, buffet.

The first night, the door to the hallway was closed so we did hear people letting the door go and the door would slam. People hold the hallway or cabin doors so they don’t slam.  After the first night, when we returned to our cabin at night, I would leave the hallway door open.  We did not hear any noise after leaving the door open.

We rarely heard any people going down the hallway.  If people talk in any hallway, you would hear them whichever cabin you had.  We did not hear noise from people walking to the Lido doors or above us.

    here are some pictures -

#1 & 2 - looking left to Captain bridge (you can see balcony space of regular balcony)

    #3 - looking down

I did this in the Universe Lounge on Coral Princess. Someone had "reserved" seats by placing a can across them. They had been "reserved" for more than 30 - 40 minutes when I saw a couple fruitlessly searching for seating. I told them the cane had been there for quite a while and reserving seating was not allowed. I moved the cane to the side and invited them to take the (good!) seats. I don't know if anybody ever showed up to try to "claim" the seats as I didn't give it another thought. I know I never noticed any disturbance in regard to the seats.

While in the Explorer Lounge, we saw a couch with 2 empty spaces.  We started to sit down, a woman said, “we are saving those seats for people in our group”.  I said “you are not suppose to save seats, you should listen to the announcements”, she replied “ the bar attendant said it was ok”.  A man in the group was ready to get up to face my husband.  We sat there the whole time.  When we left, the woman made a very rude comment.

  10. I have stayed at Premier Inn Waterloo 5x.  Premier Inn Waterloo’s entrance is street level. Hotel has A/C.  The restaurant is in the basement.

I take the breakfast meal so I don’t have to go and find a place to eat.  The breakfast is buffet - eggs, sausage, bacon, tomato, mushrooms, beans, cereal, yogurt, bread, juice/ coffee/tea.  We ate dinner out before returning to the hotel.  If we were too tired, their restaurant was there.

Premier Inn Country Hall’s entrance is up a couple of stairs.  This hotel is closer to London Eye.  There is a  street/court yard/small plaza between the two Premier Inn.

Both hotels close to restaurants, pubs, HOHO, Thamas river, London Eye, Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, grocery store, stores, regular bus, Waterloo train station.

I would take whichever is the cheapest.

  11. I used a car service Just Airports from LHR to my London hotel - Park Plaza Westminster and Premier Inn Waterloo (a block behind Park Plaza Westminster).  Put in your hotel’s postal code to get a quote.

It is nice to be met after baggage area to be met and driven direct to your hotel after a long flight without dragging your luggage all over the place for transportation.

On embarkment day, check out International Friends from certain London hotels to Southampton dock with a stop at Stonehenge.

On one of the cruises we were on, one couple had a set of loungers saved in the sun by the pool, a set saved in the shade, a set saved in the smoking area and a set with a table by the window at the pool and they bounced between them all day.

I saw a couple on 2 loungers in the sun and saved 2 loungers in the shade.  He would come to check on the shade ones.  An older couple, keep going around looking for 2 loungers. After they had walked around 2 times,   I mentioned to them, about those 2 loungers in the shade and told them to get a pool attendant.  The pool attendant removed the items and the couple sat down.

My Canadian agent was able to refare and keep my EzAir price.

My sister’s USA agent is saying that she can not refare and keep the same EzAir price.

We are on the same cruise.

My sister’s USA agent went back to Princess and talked to a different agent who knew what to do and was able to refare and not loose her EzAir price.
