Let me repeat, that I am sure most Pinnacles aren’t like that. But we did notice that Pinnacles seemed to announce their status to staff and other passengers a lot. I have yet to witness that behavior from a Zenith on X.

We have met 4 Zenith's in MC. Very nice and very knowledgeable about cruising. It was nice hearing their stories. Last year on a sailing from Vancouver BC to LA we had to go through customs in Seattle. Well it was a disaster. We were in suites, what was to take under 2 hours, took up to 6 hours. X had to bring down water and sandwiches. While DH was getting water and sandwiches. I could hear was women say I'm Zenith let me through. I want back on the ship. You know I'm Zenith.

Many of us that cruise, know that X must zero out the ship before they can start reboarding.

Hello, we are staying in your exact sky suite at the end of the month.  Do you recall if the hair dryer is a wall model or a stand alone that you can use anywhere in the room? If it’s a wall mount I might bring my own.  Thanks for the great review of the cabin!

I only remember seeing stand alone hair dryers. The hair dryers are the type you need to hold the switch down for it to work.

Could someone who has recently sailed advise about their experiences with bringing wine on board? Is it two bottles per stateroom or two bottles per guest? Going to try and call to get info but would like to hear from someone who has recent experience.  Going on the Eclipse in September to Canada/New England.  Thanks in advance! Gram

This is from our Cruise Documents for next month.

"Guests are not allowed to bring beer or hard liquor onboard for consumption or any other use. Guests wishing to bring personal wine onboard with them on embarkation day may do so, limited to one (1) bottle per guest, but when consumed in any shipboard restaurant, bar or dining venue, each bottle shall be subject to a corkage fee of $25.00. A corkage fee does not apply to guests with a Classic Beverage Package or Premium Beverage Package."

Here is the floor plan of Celebrity Beyond Celebrity Suite and it does have a balcony and not an infinite veranda.

Check out this video. About 30 sec in you can see the balcony divider. Small round hole for the allen wrench and the hinges to swing the divider.

  5. Through Viator
We have 12 hours in Reykjavik so I've reserved 4 spaces on the 6 hour Golden Circle tour which takes in the geothermal area and the Gulfoss falls.  The geysers are nothing like "Old Faithful", but interesting never the less. It still leaves us plenty of time afterwards to look at the city as well.

I've left Isafjordor free, nothing appeals too much tour wise there so we'll probably just wander or see if we can find a whale/puffin watching trip.

We have 11 hours in Akureyri so I've put a reservation on a tour to Lake, Myvatn, Hot Springs & Godafoss falls (apparently a "do not miss" for this port of call).  It's similar to the Reykjavik tour in that we see the much of the countryside, but takes in the volcanic landscapes and the lava fields (old ones not the current ones).  This is another 6 hour trip and picks up from the port.  We should have 3 hours left at the end to look around the town.

The Golden Circle is £56 per person
The Lake Myvatn is £123.21 per person
The Golden Circle we met our bus at the bus terminal in town. The Lake Myvatn tour we met the bus at the cruise terminal.

  6. While I do remember getting a pager once for Blu. We were on Apex out of Southampton recently during the UEFA European Championship. After the game I went directly to Luminae to get a table for 4. The other 3 said there was a long line of guest wanting to dine. It is called timing and planning.

we thought you had to go up to the buffet  for waffles..

but the French toast is amazing!

It has been a few years since we ate in Blu. We were on Solstice Class ship. DH ask about getting a waffle. The staff in Blu went to the Oceanview Cafe to get the waffles.

I believe Beyond and Ascent do have a bar there, just no seats..I ordered drinks on Ascent there to take to the cabin.

Apex also has a bar with no seats. Sky Aqua Suites do not get champagne, it is sparkling wine.

  9. We were just on Apex last month. We ate at Fine Cut Steakhouse and Eden. Both were over priced. We had a ton of OBC. My meal in Eden was not good. The filet Mignon was ok, but the mini short rib wellington was just bad. Dry with no flavor. I thought about Rooftop Garden. As we were in Iceland I was not interested in eating dinner outside.

That is my recollection as well.  Seems lacking to not have a truly full service bar in the Retreat Lounge.

How many people like hearing a blender crushing ice in a lounge.

  11. I dont remember seeing anyone with a blended drink in the Retreat Lounge last month on Apex. That being said. The E Class ships can make blended drinks at the Retreat Pool Bar one deck up.

  12. Through the app you can look at your ships current sailing. Our next cruise is on Solstice out of Vancouver BC to Alaska. I can look at the Solstice current sailing menu's so I can pre booking what nights I want to do specialty restaurant or to dine in Luminae.

Absolutely, the Alaska option wasn't cheap, $350ish in the summer of 2019, probably around $500 now.  With Alaska, the small boat picked up passengers directly from the ship.  As you're pointing out for Norway, the cruise ship could dock where allowed and then sell fjord tour executions on small boats

You are so close. X has the execution at Hubbard Glacier for $526.05 on sale 5% now $498.99 pp.
