  1. I have stayed in the Aqua Sky Suites on Solstice, back when they were just Sky Suites.

Other factors to take into considerate. Some of the forward Aqua SS are under the carpeted area. (like 2114 and 2115) Less noise from OVC. Other factor is Sunset Sky Suites on deck 12, you might hear noise from the outdoor area above. Aqua SS are in a great location. Right out to the pool and just one deck up to bring food from the OVC back to your suite.

Also 2 of the Sunset Sky Suites have the window washer equipment. I dont remember what deck. Not deck 12.

  2. I had a CS booked for Sept 2024 Alaska 7 night sailing. In my eyes the price was to high. I ask our TA to see what she could do. One conference call with X. We got no where. I got a call the next day from our TA. I dont know who she talked too. In the end we now have our 1st RS booked and saved $3000.

Thank you @bikerunner. I am leaning towards Silhouette. My only concern is that the sky suites are under the OVC. Appreciate your insights.

The Aqua Sky Suites are under the carpeted area of the OVC. They were my favorite SS location. I wont spend the extra money for Aqua SS. The further back you go the more issue you may have with noise from above.

I have not. I’m in a SS so I didn’t know if they would assist with any pre-boarding stuff but I’ll give it a shot! Thanks

I have only called the number once. We were in a CS. When I called there were 2 options. One option was for SS. All they can say in no. X does save space for retreat guests.

I’m interested in booking a specialty restaurant for dinner for the first night of my cruise on 4/22. I have a couple other specialty restaurants booked but last minute decided I want to book another. There is no availability in the app and ship appears to be full. Is there a chance I can get a reservation upon embarkation? We will be in retreat, is this  something to concierge can assist with? I’m willing to be flexible with time. I just don’t know how likely it is to get reservations once on ship. But I assume they have to have some spots open for people with dining packages?

    Have you called X?

Simply call 1-877-RETREAT, and The Retreat Concierge will assist you with your booking and help plan and arrange every moment of your vacation before you even set sail.

If you "reset" making your your new password the same as the old it isn't an issue. The system allows for the re-use of an existing or previous password.

X would not let me reuse my password. It has 1 cap, 2 numbers, and 9 characters. Does X password need to be only 8 characters.

    but why would you???

    lol

(I can think of some reasons, but lumina is SOOOO good......)

My MIL and her sister were in a non suite cabin. I informed the Maitr'D and our butler. We went on prime rib night. I was great. Other reason is limited food option in Luminae on the Edge class ship. I saw what Jim said on #17. I'm crossing my fingers that I might be able to order off the MDR menu on our June Apex cruise. Friends picked Apex for Iceland.

I think some of the confusion is Sky Suites were not allowed into Michael’s Club until late 2015.

Yes, the more I think about it, it might have been MC.

We had a Sky Suite in 2015 in the Mediterranean and ate every dinner in Luminae.

I might be wrong, but I remember sky suites and Celebrity suites had limited access to Luminae in the beginning.

Luminae was introduced in April 2014. I dont remember how any months the access was limited, but it was. I want to say the limited access was less than a year.

Around the time X introduced Luminae we were doing 3 to 5 cruises a year, mostly in AquaClass. So I looked into suites.

I don’t think that bigBenboys was trying to say that sky suites had previously been excluded. Simply that they started sailing in suites when Luminae began

Yes I was. This is what I remember. When Luminae was introduced sky suites could have breakfast and lunch in Luminae, but not dinner. That changed at some point. I'll do a search.

  11. Seems like X is still spending money on M Class ships.

    19 MARCH 2024

Celebrity Infinity has returned to service following refurbishment and will spend the 2024-2025 season sailing European itineraries.

The Celebrity Cruises vessel now has, in the rear of the ship, new Sunset Suites that include large private balconies designed specifically to give passengers the opportunity to watch the sun set during their cruise.

The Retreat Lounge (formerly Michael’s Club) has been given a refreshed look and new colour palette for a warm and intimate atmosphere. The private restaurant Luminae at The Retreat has been expanded, giving more space for suite guests to enjoy the complimentary beverages, gourmet bites, live entertainment and more.

“We strive to exceed guest expectations, from elevated service onboard and thoughtful amenities through to interior spaces designed to make guests feel at home in their surroundings,” said Keith Lane, senior vice president of hotel operations at Celebrity Cruises. “The enhancements to Celebrity Infinity, particularly the transformation of The Retreat Lounge, epitomises our commitment to providing an unmatched experience for our guests, ensuring that every journey with Celebrity Cruises is memorable.”

  12. We have done many Alaska cruises on Celebrity, Princess, Royal, and HAL. We are booked on the Solstice out of Vancouver BC in Sept going to Icy Strait Point and Hubbard Glacier.

Icy Strait Point I do the 2 trams to get to the Ziprider, great fun. I also eat some raw oyster if the month has a R in it at a café in the shop area.

As to what glacier to see. I just dont see what people see in Glacier Bay over Hubbard Glacier. That is when it comes to seeing frozen ice. The scenery going into Glacier bay is nice.

The following photo of Hubbard Glacier. We were on Millie 2 or 3 years ago, Seward to Vancouver BC.20220604_151210.thumb.jpg.7409bbb0ccb578768414ebdb73347b95.jpg20220604_153522.thumb.jpg.d13ca1f4efc02fb3d02e72a1745f540b.jpg

So nothing for the minions 😉

Yes, that might be so. But on the positive side X is starting to spend some money on updating a older ship.

I myself like the M class ships updated or not over the décor and layout of the E class ship. I like the layout of the S class ships. But the décor seems more outdated than the old M class ships.
