  1. Hopefully not because it seems for most folks a Covid positive situation isn't any worse than a common cold and even less than the common flu. Haven't heard of them checking and stopping people for that.
  2. We don't know if the Elite tea service will continue to be free or not.
  3. Nice to read you are going to sock it to the Covid.
  4. Do you want to go? Do you love the itinerary? Is there another option? If Y, Y, N, I'd take the chance.
  5. If you're on Premier, everything is free, free, free!!! Whee!!
  6. Right. That is fine. You will randomly get a 6-top or 8-top with random guests. Hopefully you can assemble at least a partial group that wants to stick together. Good luck with the people-match.
  7. How did you ask for a "full table"? No such thing in DMW. All you can do is request "Sharing" and you have no choice as to the table size. Also, DMW cannot possibly match-up and retain the same diverse group at the same sharing table. Just not something possible in the software. If you want to stick together, I suggest you discuss with tablemates on night one and see if all there are interested - or enough to make it worthwhile to you. Them, speak to DR Host or Mgmt and see if they cannot "lock you in" there or perhaps a different table. Remember that you could end up at a Sharing table with ad hoc walk-up guests and perhaps no one who booked sharing wanting to do what you want. It's a sad thing for folks that do want the same group, but PCL just doesn't have that option available unless passengers can organize themselves. PS - You and any like-minded tablemates could agree to meet at a specific time and DR and then ask to be seated together as walk-ups. Table location is not important - I mean in terms of you not caring if same waiters. That should work as well since I expect one of your three DR's isn't even loaded in DMW App.
  8. Correct. Why did they add this as it is not something waitstaff are made aware of. Just let them know in person. Also, for those sharing, someone who wants fast service could easily be seated with someone who doesn't care and someone else who expects to spend at least 2+ hrs in the DR.
  9. Get in line. Have you seen other threads with the same theme? Sorry you are having this issue, but DMW is obviously still buggy and temperamental. Some folks accomplish the task and others not. Have you tried the web version of the App? It includes DMW booking and you might have better luck there. Otherwise, suggest you ask right away on Day 1 of DR Host or Mgmt and they should be able to accommodate. There is likely one entire DR on your ship that isn't even loaded in the App right now, so there ought to be space. PS - It's tedious if a longer cruise, but book one night at a time and see if that helps. DMW will never guarantee anyone the same table and waiters each night. You need to get with DR Host or DR Mgr in order to secure that. It should be possible. Remind them if necessary that PCL still promises the TD experience.
  10. All reports indicate that if you book the balance of the voyage, the rate is $15/day. Less than that would be the single day rate - which may still be $20 (uncertain if went up to $25, say). The Elite/Platinum discount always applies.
  11. Did they completely remove ShoreEx from the Cruise Personalizer? Have you looked there? Try calling early in the morning, but not Mondays.
  12. No cost to you with the new Plus at $60/pp/day rate. Software changes obviously not all implemented as yet.
  13. If interested in coffee growing and farming, this is a nice family-run place that we visited many years ago. Tour info was nice and I found a lot of parallels to grapevine growing and such for wine purposes. Greenwell = https://www.greenwellfarms.com/
  14. Ship and date, please? I seem to recall having an explanation for this in a couple of past cases.
  15. Hi again. I am willing to bet that @RLK33853's story is the one I was thinking of as similar to yours.
  16. Just for you, my friend. I was kind of thinking this and it was the Hilton Waikoloa Village. We weren't staying there, but went to see it and at least had a drink. It think it was sometime in afternoon or later. It doesn't matter. I looked up the hotel and pulled up the menu for the Lagoon Grill. Darned if it still isn't on the menu and this could be 30 years ago pretty much, so I am sure the drink didn't cost nearly this much. But you have to factor in the setting into the cost. LAVA FLOW 18 light rum, coconut cream, pineapple juice, strawberry swirl I am sure I would have asked for amber rum. I would hope it is still the same size (generous, IIRC) Hope you make it there some day. If you go, I can recommend a great coffee farm to visit and of course there is the volcano park. I am now gathering these have become de rigeur in the area. Here is a photo (not me):
  17. I used to have success with asking (firmly if needed) to be transferred to Guest Relations or Solutions. It depended on who I got. But I confess have not needed to do this since the Philippine call center became big player. I do agree that best to have that final statement in hand to verify against the email. I do think part of the delay in any dispute is they have to go back to the ship's purser's office and make inquiries, etc. But anyone in PCL accounting at HQ ought to know what the "$$COMPUTER" means.
  18. Just remembered one of the most memorable drinks we had was a volcano pina colada on Hawaii (Big Island) on west coast at one of the hotels, looking out over the ocean. This was a long time ago, but that drink not only looked great, it tasted great.
  19. If you call early in the morning - avoid Mondays - you should not have a big wait time. Make sure you select book a new cruise. Don't just default to the regular phone reps. This option should get you an actual sales person. You can also elect to get a CVP if you want to deal directly with Princess. They can help book you over the phone quickly. CVP's are PCL's inside sales agents (like a TA). CVP - Cruise Vacation Planner if you have not heard of them yet.
  20. Booking on Princess is not like booking Rolling Stones or Springsteen or Taylor Swift. Especially if off hours when TA's in North America are not working, you should have no problems booking two cabins in a row. You just need to put them on courtesy hold and deal with deposits later. But I do suggest finding a TA that will get you something more than PCL offers.
  21. I am not all that familiar with their booking engine other than what I posted above. That said, if you can find a 3rd party website (or agency) that sells cruises, you can see all of the eligible fares with many of these online agencies. They will get you to enter Name, BD, Captain's Circle Member Number and then they can display all the eligible fares. Perhaps that BB place doesn't do that and you need to talk to a rep to book what promo you want (just like you would need to in order to book a Standard Fare). For a 3rd party website, you can try the agency that has a whole lot of little boxes, plus online - if you can deduce what that one is. They have a 3-day sale each summer. They will have both a Canadian and US website. Another idea is to try the national air carrier and they will be showing fares in CAD. Otherwise, I don't have a way to tell you about two other US sites because it would involve naming my top two travel agencies. But at least you might find something to give you various fare options. Princess.com only shows you one fare code and it is supposed to be the best deal for you based on your residency in CC Member profile (such as if there was a special deal for Canadians like earlier this year when cruises were being sold at par).
  22. They only appear more expensive because they present Plus and Premier fares and hide the Standard. Not that I am interested in booking with them anyway, but was just looking at this in respect of another thread post. Canada makes no difference in terms of Princess as we are in the same market sector as US. CAD fares are 1.35X USD fares (and then often "fiddled" with by a few cents one way or the other). I would recommend a US-based agency that gives cash discounts that you can't get in Canada.
  23. I have read one or two stories the align with yours. The person (sorry, don't ask me who now) had a major loss of Ref OBC due to PCL re-allocating monies in some strange way. I cannot recall the specifics, but sounds like what happened to you. I have never walked off a ship with a credit balance. And I have no plans to do so in the future. I do think you are owed an explanation for their calculations. Have you tried calling in and asking to speak with Customer Relations? And I'd ask for a senior person there due to your lengthy wait for answers. "$$COMPUTER" may equal PCL Creative Accounting.
