  1. No clarity on any of the contentious questions like guests being grandfathered or not, Two visits no matter cruise length.
  2. LOL. So they did seem to be experiencing some server issues when seminar was on. Still seems to be TA-related. Anyway, I am quite sure they have server sync issues between POLAR and Princess Medallion App database.
  3. I'm into it now. I like seeing the POLAR stuff. I saw a session one time about doing booking maintenance on POLAR. It helped me being able to tell TA what could be done or tell Princess rep to do. I imagine there may be plenty of TA's not all that familiar with POLAR. I know a TA that likes to call PCL - despite waiting - and have them do the change because - if it screws up, it's on PCL and not the TA.
  4. Mmmm ... not quite. What happens is guest is subject to the airline ticket rules for the ticket type purchased (whether economy, premium economy, business). Guest may be able to make a change directly with the airline if the ticket category allows it. I do disagree with a blanket idea of negating EZ-Air flexibility. First of all, guests can save a lot on international fares. And once you see from observing fares that you managed to lock in a low one and now prices are well up, there is really no harm in ticketing the file. Perhaps guest wants to do seat selection if their airline doesn't allow prior to ticketing. Also, they are ticketed for sure and don't have to worry about PCL or EZ-Air not completing the ticketing process.
  5. Oh of course that is the answer. DOH!!! 8% of $150 is $12 and hence $162 total. But the Princess price he mentioned doesn't make sense.
  6. I should look for webinar replay. Missed it and not sure what sugary treats were being discussed this week.
  7. Don't follow the math as upgrading from Premier $75 to Premier $80 should be $75/pp for 15 days. The fact that a TA makes commission should not make you pay more. For example, my TA would have discounted the upcharge, just as I would get a discount on the Plus/Premier cost in the first place if I was booking it.
  8. If you are having trouble with preferred CC and you are otherwise good-to-go, you can present a different CC at check-in and that will become the one on cabin folio for charges.
  9. The finger-pointing could occur no matter when guest was ticketed.
  10. I wonder how many "afflictions" they do this for? What about Noro? What about the Flu? What about Bronchitis? What about a "hard" cold?
  11. I wonder if this is an issue because you are B2B and the friends do not even have a res for second voyage. Had you added them as Travel and Dining Companions in the App? If possible, cancel this out and delete them from your profile. Then try and make DMW for first voyage. You need to book it one night at a time and do not try and book entire voyage option because that encompasses the second voyage with friends.
  12. Actually, guest can ticket anytime after the flights are paid for - which could be prior to FP Date for the cruise.
  13. Lots of people were reimbursed during the pandemic, but IDK if Princess is still doing it or not.
  14. That is when Plus and Premier increased to the current pricing of $60 and $80. If guests have that, they get all the new stuff included without any questions/issues about whether something applies or not.
  15. Or better yet - think of it as nights. Each voyage is actually X number of nights paid for on the ship - just like in a hotel.
  16. Something wrong or missing in guest booking record it appears. Could be bad data between reservation system (POLAR) and Princess App. Different ships may be handling it different ways, but I don't see why a table could not be reserved on board in the "missing" DR. But it could also be geared for walk-ups. You would need to ask someone on a Roll Call who is sailing the ship soon or if someone is doing a live trip report.
  17. Agreed. Somehow I am out of context or typed poorly on another post, but the concern raised by other(s) was if ordering the free tea service will incur a $5 RS fee.
  18. Greenwell Farms. 81-6581 Mamalahoa Highway Kealakekua, Hawaii 96750 https://www.greenwellfarms.com/pages/big-island-kona-coffee-tours
  19. This sentence tweaked my mind onto the thing I have posted in the past a couple of time about how to fix DMW. Why not repeat it in some form as there are new folks have not seen it and anyone interested is welcome to voice opinions to Princess (or back at me, LOL) and maybe they will address. Since I did write this initially, I do feel that most of the DR Mgrs seem to be trying to make the best of it these days and help people out. How to Fix DMW and Try and Make Everyone Happy. The first thing to realize is that DMW software cannot possibly put shared tables together the way people used to like to do Traditional Dining. Nor can it slot a couple into the same table every night, despite you booking same time in that same DR nightly. DMW should first ask the guest if they want Traditional Dining (defined as Same DR Table and Same Waitstaff for entire voyage whenever they are in MDR for dinner). If the response is "YES", guest is then asked if they want a Private table for their Dining Party or if they want a Sharing Table for their Dining Party. If the guest has elected "Sharing", they are then asked for preferred table size (6/8/10). Next, the guest is offered the time slots and asked to select one. And that ends the DMW session. All of this information is gathered and sent to the DRO (Director, Restaurant Operations) on the ship just a few days before sail date. The DRO then utilizes this information (and they could also consider the speed attribute that is in the guest profile when matching strangers). The DRO puts together the TD requests and utilizes one or more of the DR's for this purpose. DMW should also be enhanced to feedback to the guest their DR and Table assignment which should appear in the Dining section of the App anytime after the DRO has organized the table reservations. In order to make this happen, one entire DR is kept out of DMW from voyage booking open date until sail date. Also, requests for TD are cutoff in the App as soon as the data is forwarded to the DRO and a message on the App will inform guests they need to book regular dining or do walk-up. For whatever reason(s), one of the typical three DR's is already not being available in the App for many ships/voyages it seems. Okay, so for those who want to book ad hoc, or not looking to lock down a set table, they would use DMW to book space as you see it now basically. Two DR's would be available and folks would select Private or Sharing (again I would add table-size as a parameter, subject to availability). Those booking in DMW this way (like current situation) would have no guarantee of the same table each night, nor the same tablemates if sharing. If a guest is not interested in booking times for dinner, they can ignore DMW - as is the case now - and be a walk-up. Once the DRO has completed table assignments for the guests requesting the TD experience, he can release any unused table space back into the DMW pool for ad hoc reservations on board or for filling walk-up requests (whatever makes sense). Any guest with confirmed TD spot will have the DR, Time, Table # appear in DMW App. It has to go back to the manual process in order to keep the same people together and at the same table each night. It's the only way, or only option is what we have today - guest needs to get with DR Mgmt or Host on Day 1 ASAP and get their request in (this is really for a Private Table because only guests can create their own Sharing Table group that agrees to stick together). A group that wants to stay together at a 6 or 8 top can always make this known to DR Mgmt now and hope they can work something out.
  20. I do know who Sheldon Cooper is, but never really watched BBT, so the joke is going over my head. I guess the joke was on me as I was not certain if you were serious or not. I should have realized better. It's all good and sorry I didn't "get it". Maybe someday when I am an old man in a rocking chair, I will watch that show as it will no doubt be playing on one of the nostalgia cable channels. I am with you in that we have not seen the final version of the rules & regs and I too am thinking there will be some adjustments.
  21. Pizza place meaning Alfredo's or Gigi's. Presuming they return Ocean Now ordering to the cabin TV's, then the 1-time $15 service fee covers that as well. RS fee is per visit/order. I believe you have the salient points. If you have $60 Plus or $80 Premier, you get the new stuff. If you purchased prior to Dec 14 and therefore on the $60/$75 (or was it $70?), you don't get the new stuff unless you upgrade to the new by paying the difference.
  22. I wouldn't call RS on cabin phone for cabin items like you listed. IMO, RS is for food & beverage. I would call housekeeping. Actually, I think what happens now when call HK from the cabin is the steward is paged/called.
  23. I disagree (on your spreading rumors point). Someone (@mellon1) was wondering and speculating in their post that Princess may be charging $5 for the free Elite tea service (an Elite benefit). I simply stated we don't know about that yet (AFAIK there has been no FAQ, or official word, nor a report from the only ship live with the new changes thus far). My thinking is there would not be a charge, but I do think it is true that we don't know for certain at this point. I am trying to avoid such a rumor growing. I happened on a FB thread and - if I can base a comment on that - it seems like more jumping to conclusions and such going on there than here.
