  1. The non-alcohol drinks are included in the package and do not count against a daily max. Only drinks containing alcohol (which would include adding a shot to a coffee) count to the 15 limit. You can spend up to $15 menu price per drink and not be charged extra.
  2. I am sure you will let us know about that evening - and it could be a lot different than other world locations. That said, it doesn't sound like there were enough participants to "blend in" rather than "stand out" on many voyages. Of course "standing out" is not an issue at all as folks should participate in whatever way they choose. It would be nice, IMO, if PCL has a variety of theme evenings as I think they used to have more variety in them in the past. Like a Caribbean Deck Party, a Sock Hop and I am not thinking of other ones.
  3. Come on... she (@LynnSD) didn't mean that at all. I know this can be a passionate topic, but let's not read into posts what isn't there.
  4. I have not been-there-done-that, but many members have reported here going through the process and then never seeing $10 hit the CC. Besides, you can always get the $10 back as Refundable OBC if you are charged. I certainly agree that the App shouldn't be implying a charge for those on Plus/Premier. It's pretty basic software logic.
  5. Well it must be a change of some sort. Last year I know I did one of my re-fares by calling into a PCL rep and having them create a new booking on courtesy hold (I called in so I could make it in USD). I then wrote TA who was off that day and gave him the info to do his thing. Sorry, I don't recall if he was able to do a re-fare with that one or it was a cancel/re-book (I made about 8 cruise fare changes for our four voyages last Fall that I forget how each one was done). I know I had a number of cancel/re-books and had to be sure our FCD's had not expired so they could be immediately re-used on the new booking.
  6. Not on your life. A year from now someone will post asking where did the Arrival Groups go in the Princess App (only they will call it the Medallion App). PS - We're still getting coffee card questions.
  7. I wore something just like that for Hallowe'en decades ago in my youth.
  8. Yes. But you don't need a PCL CVP. Just get a rep. What do you want to finish? Put down a deposit? If I have had to do a self-book on Princess.com, I just use a hold option and get it taken over by TA. Or, better yet, use the TA's booking page to make own reservation (if they have one).
  9. Can't do it that easily anymore. Have to complete a form to effect a transfer. Unless you meant to cancel and re-book?
  10. The time limit has been 60 days for some time now (years).
  11. I'd like to know if anyone on here has either asked their CVP directly or asked their TA (and I mean a TA who does a LOT of PCL business) if they have discussed with PCL. Is this something deliberate or another "feature" from our "friends" in IT Dept? ETA: Beating myself up here for not trying to slip that question in on the marketing webinar yesterday, but they don't like "difficult" questions. It's all rah-rah and shake the pom-poms time on those webinars.
  12. I can go after PCL IT with tooth and nails, but seems to me, they have always been very efficient at getting guests on and off the ships. It's a pretty smooth process and we certainly enjoy having the priority access as it can make a difference at times.
  13. Not arrival times. The ship has a check-in window and final time to be checked in (~90 mins prior to sail time). Same as ever that way. I am not sure PCL ever publishes the unofficial start of check-in (often 10am).
  14. Yes, that should be gone around August 1 with next software update roll-out. Of course, we'll still have priority check-in/boarding. I don't see any changes there. Some people were paying attention as there have been countless questions and threads on this forum about picking arrival groups and times in the App and every time some one of us or other would tell them just to arrive at their convenience. Even when you ran into the situation above, having priority check-in overrode the App groups (per Jan Swartz at the return to sea launch).
  15. It would seem they are altering the App to indicate Blue Lane if guest doesn't order Medallion to be shipped. ETA: Seems a silly move in a way since overseas departures will have many fewer guests with Medallion in hand. Not only with changed ratio mix, but there will be guests heading to Europe and such places ahead of cruise date and may well not receive them in time anyway. Was it just marketing BS that folks can elect any lane to check-in? We shall see. It is also a different situation for check-ins prior to boarding start and after boarding start. I don't see much change for us as we always arrive early and are in Elite waiting area ready to board.
  16. I guess it must have happened as I believe you by default, but it is very hard to believe. Sure, there is some change since 2019, but no way was jacket and tie required/enforced in 2019, so it must have been an isolated thing. It could have even been just that one DR on the ship. Who knows? Doesn't much matter now, but it would be interesting to know the ship and who the MD was at the time. You are the first and only account of a guest dressed as your husband was and almost turned away. I guess it is moot now as won't be happening today.
  17. I suppose it depends how much you wish to believe Carmen Roig who is VP Marketing (or similar title). I imagine we all will believe it when see it as it might be delayed. Who knows? And as I mentioned somewhere before, nothing was said as to anyone can order after August 1 (such as for a mid- to late-August voyage, or whether for new bookings after that date, etc. One would think/hope that anyone can order after the launch date. I'd look for a formal announcement since it is a good news item. Maybe they will email all Captain's Circle Members living in Canada.
  18. He's on the Plus fare from before the last price increase. The CA is locked in at $14.50.
  19. Not me, but did listen in to most of it as was curious what changes were coming.
  20. This is another bonehead move by PCL. It's all about charging guests more money - either for shipping or another reason to get them buying the cruise packages. If guest has done a Medallion order and its going to the pier for pick-up, that ought to still be Green Lane. Well, apparently we aren't stuck there. Carmen Roig herself got laughing about the colored lanes and confused guests and said just go to any lane and you get taken care of. (All I care about is getting priority access and first group to board and could care less what the lane is to hand me a Medallion and check me in). Yup, but shipping option is coming by August 1 (supposedly). I agree. Did not see colored lanes last Fall and picking up Medallion added seconds to the process. The delineation for check-in was more around priority and non-priority which makes sense to me. In today's seminar, there was nary a mention of Elite/Suite, etc, check-in.
  21. https://www.princess.com/learn/faq/pre-cruise/what-to-pack-for-a-cruise/ Under clothing recommendations, you can see the number of formal nights. They might label one on the ship dress to impress or white/gold. Note that formal nights are determined by the physical voyage and not necessarily what you booked. Example: You book a 14-night voyage (logical voyage) that is actually two 7-nights cruises B2B. There will be four formal nights and not three.
  22. I am sure the cruises showing $14.50 were booked prior to the CA increase date as PCL keeps the old rate for guests. You may elect to pay the additional $1.50. $14.50 is not an AUD amount. If not purchasing Plus/Premier, it may make sense to pre-pay the CA using Cruise Personalizer.
  23. Same thing could have been possible with a cruise card - if waiter just asked for cabin number. The old cruise cards had an account number on them which was not cabin number and that number was used to record charges, so perhaps it was more secure??? I am not sure. Not advocating for cards again, but guests have reported waiters picking up their medallion by mistake to charge a drink - perhaps just tapping the wrong one of multiple images on a tablet screen.
