  1. Even so, it was never a PCL term. PCL used to provide a Cruise Card (and now the Medallion). ETA: Had not read final most recent posts before doing the above, so pretty much a repeat duplicate.
  2. "My time" is not a Princess term, but you can show up and be seated as a walk-up, or you can make a res with 20 minute intervals offered (subject to space available). When booking in DWM, you can elect a Private table for your party for Sharing table. If you are a walk-up (which is what you may have been referring to), you can also ask for Sharing or Private. Even if you don't ask, they are going to ask you, because they want to fill Shared tables if possible. Note that unless a group gets together and coordinates a specific arrangement, if you do Shared dining on Princess now, it won't be with the same group of guests each night.
  3. Alright. There is always an exception to a "rule". Interesting that they blocked the aft DR for those ships. Perhaps they want to direct the walk-ups to the aft as more people prefer mid-ship (I know we do).
  4. I believe this is now an unannounced procedure/policy. PCL is keeping one DR "back" from the App. I am thinking they are now at least attempting it to be the one that hosts the Reserve section. That said, it may not be always well understood between each ship and HQ which mid-ship DR is going to be hosting Reserve (it is always one of the mid-ship DR's). The aft DR should be one of the two offered in DMW. I believe they are doing this to allow for better accommodating walk-ups who don't book a res. It also gives the DR Mgmt more flexibility in blocking a set table for those guests requesting it because it is impossible for DMW to do that. That 3rd DR (and for Diamond and Sapphire I am treating the split DR's as a single virtual DR on each deck) may be available in the App on board, but don't count on it as they may be directing walk-ups there. Nevertheless, rest assured that all three DR's will be in use.
  5. With Princess, it used to be "come back new" - now it's "come back later". And when is a sale not a sale? When it's on Princess.com.
  6. I don't see any reason why not. You could have paid for the cruise in advance of FP Date as well and that would not adversely impact whatever the insurance plan provides.
  7. Non-alcohol beverages are unlimited and none exceed the package upper cost limit AFAIK.
  8. I wouldn't call it a design flaw when the area was never intended to be used the way it is being used in recent years.
  9. True. No set times. DMW offers times every 20 minutes and typically seems to be offering up two of the three DR's in the App pre-cruise. You can make a res for the same time and DR location each night, but be aware that the App does not have the smarts to assign you into the same table and waiters each night. Upon boarding - say the DR during lunch period or early arrival for dinner that night - speak with DR mgmt or host and they ought to lock you into a table just like the old TD and you can arrive there are your preferred time (or may need to adjust to suit the DR) and have the same wait staff. Princess promised with DMW to provide the TD experience.
  10. Only beverages containing alcohol count towards the 15 limit per day.
  11. Who knows? Book the cruise today and then re-book if the new sale is better. PCL themselves in the sale campaign are saying score low fares by booking early. That has been the advice on here for years. Book as soon as you want the voyage and then watch for any price drops as time passes.
  12. It would be a fairly cheap replacement for Elites compared to some of the deductions that have occurred.
  13. There is a current issue (either system bug or some sort of new PCL policy no one can quite figure out) concerning Dx cabins. You can try booking for 3 people and see if you see a larger selection. If so, speak to a PCL CVP or your TA about getting one of them. Otherwise there is an extensive thread topic on here about this situation and some were suggesting book a third person and drop them soon after.
  14. Speaking of... has anyone reading this seen the new WMD mentioned on board or been to one? It was suppose to change to a way higher price ($140 - more than CTL) recently, but be pretty much the same thing but with Caymus wines of Napa, CA, region.
  15. You had asked me something the other day and thought you might write me about it.
  16. Yes, this has been posted before and IMO guests should complain about the following: If a guest orders steak and lobster, NP. If a guest orders lobster, they only get one crummy tail??!! That guest ought to be getting two tails since they aren't having the steak. It's only fair IMO.
  17. As someone who would never be booking a Suite (unless we won Mega or Power lottery somehow), I should think that guests booking a Suite ought to be able to have Medallions shipped for free and not charged a nickel-and-dime extra $10.
  18. Think again. You might enjoy a small group private road trip and tour of Provence and Luberon countryside and small towns. Very nice. You don't even bother with Marseilles and guide just drives you right out of town.
  19. If you are on the ship prior to FP Date for the voyage you want to book, then just book it now with best deal you find and then see what the situation is once you are on the next cruise. If there is a net better deal, just cancel and re-book - otherwise keep what you have. In the meantime, keep watching for any price drops. Waiting 3.5 mths is a fool's game IMO because if you really want to go, prices could be up, cabins sold that you want, etc. Always book when you have the voyage you want at an acceptable price and then keep looking for better deals up to FP Date.

  21. OBC you purchase like the above is fully refundable if you don't use it all. It's your money until you use all of it.
  22. The poster was talking about contributing additional cash to the tip pool at the end of the voyage using left over OBC balance on account (they already paid the daily Crew Appreciation). I am not sure if this is possible or not. Anyone know? You can always ask GS desk.
