  1. No. The poster must have been thinking as a couple. Loungers are $40/day. $20/half-day. Higher charges for Panama Canal and Glacier Bay.
  2. Excellent list. I would add one more. Celebrity has long tossed away the requirement/request (whatever you want to call it) to dress formally. See it here: https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/onboard-dress-code All Princess need do is change a few words and what they post would more align with what they practice. Most certainly, the OP can dress the same on Princess as they would on Celebrity and have no concerns whether they go more or less casual/formal. It's just that Princess is not very clear about it and X delivers it up very elegantly without confusion. Translation: X wins on paper, but you don't need worry about much difference in practice.
  3. Was waiting for this. One of our best friends is a pescatarian - that is a vegetarian who also eats seafood (both fish and shellfish for him).
  4. @caribill explains it well above. I would add that on voyages I have looked at using another website booking engine which shows ALL eligible fares codes, I can still see and select a Refundable Deposit booking for Categories IF & BF (and presumably the others). So, Princess is presenting the Non-Ref on their website (deliberately I would say for the moment) and have not deleted the Ref fare codes. It still only allows GTY cabin selection, but at least the deposit is preserved. What I cannot say is whether, after a booking is made, the POLAR system rejects the booking and guest is notified "no-can-do" a day or so later. It would be useful to hear from anyone who posts on Princess forum here if they have had their TA attempt to book an IF or BF cabin with the "normal" fare codes (meaning the deposit is still refundable).
  5. In that case I would contact the Princess App support team and see if they can solve the problem. It reads like another corrupt data issue. And , YES, try web version if not done so already.
  6. They actually have ICE agents on west coast? Or was that just a slip of the keyboard and you meant CBP?
  7. It is possible to preserve EZ-Air booking. IDK the steps in POLAR, but awareness of a flight res is the first step and then either TA alone, or TA with PCL rep assistance can/should be able to make it so.
  8. Yes. Give the system a couple of days. NO. Don't mess with the App attempting to link the new booking number. The cancelled voyage will drop off and the new one will appear if guest patiently waits. (Or there is some big data issue, but don't bother trying to "link a booking").
  9. Nice for you I suppose, but another perk some of us are supposed to have that isn't working as promised/documented. I kept an eye of our DR reservations last year for last Fall. Things weren't being done wholesale like dropping, changes, etc, as it seems happening lately.
  10. It used to have some accessible items, but it's all behind the login now.
  11. The FCD is refundable as long as it is sitting in your account unused. However, once applied as a deposit, it is no different than making a deposit using your credit card. It turns to cash and is subject to rules of the booking. Even if the deposit is refundable and you cancel the booking, the FCD may not go back into your account as an FCD if it's expiry date has since passed - you will get a refund to original form of payment instead.
  12. It's a new pricing scheme. The extra $20/pp/day moves you up a category as well I think (example a BE Balcony instead of a BF). You did not mention the cabin category and it may not be $20/pp/day for all cabin types. It would have helped if you included ship/date/cabin category in the post. Savvy shoppers might want to check into all of the available Fare Codes being offered and still might find a Refundable Deposit on lowest category.
  13. And then check into it all day 1 on board because CG not likely fully sold out. Also, make sure what MDR res you have and adjust as necessary. Talk to DR mgmt if necessary.
  14. Except they shouldn't be booking anything other than SD because they have CC dining in the MDR.
  15. Read of this happening before and I'd like to know if it is intentional on Princess part now or yet another bug in the DMW App.
  16. I forget - did you do the land tour through PCL or did you do it independently or with another provider?
  17. In truth, the 35% "upcharge" is avoided. However, one could also say that $350 off a fare that would otherwise be $1,350 is saving $350/$1,350 or 25.926%. Perspective is everything - looking from bottom up or top down.
  18. The last sentence is true, but Princess.com only shows one of the possible fare codes that can be available to a guest. It may not always be the best one or the one the guest wants/needs. At least a CVP or TA can see all eligible codes and discuss with the guest.
  19. It would appear that "way back when" I was informed that the new price for 4-device plan was going to be $40/day, that it was since changed to $30/day, so it remains 2X the single-device plan. This is great for couples as you just get the 4-device plan for the same cost as two 1-device plans and you gain extra connections (such as for both phone and laptop at once). This is about the 3rd time I have read that the 4-device plan is being charged at $30/day and not $40/day. Or, a mistake was made informing me. I like $30 better than $40.
  20. ETA: I did some poking and investigation. My normal booking engine "go to" doesn't indicate combinability of various Fare Codes, but does caution that the Fare Code in question I am looking at (and I looked at multiple) MAY not be combinable with other offers. This is something a TA or Princess CVP would be able to tell on their system (POLAR direct). But what I did see was both CAD at par offer for Canadian residents and the current Princess promo with $150 OBC/pp on the same voyage. The CAD at par was coming out within pennies of the USD current promo fare converted at Princess rate of 1.35. Note that Princess often doesn't do an exact conversion of 1.35, but plays with the end result and adjusts a few cents. Anyway, the outstanding unknowns for your situation are: What did you pay versus friends? Was/Is the CAD At Par promotion combinable with current sales promo (or the former B.S.E. promo).
  21. You mentioned you and friends booked same cruise on the same day. But likely with two different agents at Princess, so that might explain something. Did you book the same cabin type and category? How much did they pay versus what you paid? If it was exactly the same, then it would seem you were both booked under the same Fare Code and should have received same benefits. If your fare was somewhat lower, then perhaps the CAD at par theory has merit? Unfortunately, the time has gone by and I don't have any way to look into fares and see the situation and don't recall if those fare codes were combinable. The Canadian only fare codes are special codes and may not be. Most certainly, someone at Princess should have been able to explain the situation clearly to you and also confirm what Fare Code you were booked under. In fact, you should still be able to find that out (and your friends), by simply calling and asking. Nevertheless, the 35% discount exceeds $100 OBC if indeed you were not supposed to get both.
  22. I suppose you might say it depends how you look at it, but math is math. A $1,000 USD cruise costs a Canadian booking in CAD $1,350 these days - 35% higher. If you can get the cruise at virtually par, you are paying CAD $1,000. That indeed is a 35% discount. What Princess does is reduce the USD fare down to something close to $740.74 (which you won't see unless using a US-based booking site that shows all fares in USD). Therefore, when a Canadian is shopping that cruise on Princess.com, the fare shows as ~$1,000 CAD and thus showing "at par".
