  1. Sounds like an odd experience to me. Which ship? They are still taking walk-ups and other reports have indicated they ask people (encouragingly I believe) if they want to share. I believe they are still putting together folks like that. Just realize it is going to most likely be a different group of folks in a different location each night - unless the entire table agrees wants to continue at the same time and the DR staff can actually block it in.
  2. In theory, you can do it self-serve. Just connect and look at the offers. Hopefully, single day is there.
  3. Maybe he said nothing directly, but there was an announcement about him. About a year ago, he was taking on a "brand champion" role, but I never heard about him publicly since then (not that I try to keep on PCL exec's). He appears to have landed his former role with NCL and the incumbent promoted to another role. I don't have any interest in NCL myself, but hope he does well.
  4. By the 2nd or 3rd one, did you just respond "ditto"? 😁
  5. That Shoreside issue is very old. Seen it myself at least a year ago. My advice to anyone is to ignore the shoreside option completely. Sorry, I don't recall how I got it clean out to fix the issue.
  6. Not sure what data you entered here, but I do see that you eventually figured out how to get into the web version of the App from the link in Cruise Personalizer. Princess offers two ways to access your booking: 1. Your Princess.com Userid and Password (these are sync'd with the App). 2. Your Booking Nbr + Your Name + Your Birthdate On Princess.com, the login process lets you access the Cruise Personalizer where you can find summarized booking information, the Passage Contract, make Princess excursion bookings, pre-order some things for on board (Onboard Services), check your Credits, check what Onboard Services you have, and also check payments due if you booked direct (otherwise that is hidden if you book with a TA). And you can pre-pay Crew Appreciation if not included in your fare and if desired (but not necessary). Closer to sail date, you can download luggage tags to print for any bags to be left pier-side for porters to load onto the ship (crew delivers to cabins). There is a web version of the App you can link to from within the Cruise Personalizer (or save the URL after). You have to login in again using one of the same two options above. In the Princess App, you do registration type things for the voyage such as photos, passport info, etc. Once the required items are completed, you will be indicated as in the "Green Lane" (a fictional sort of designation meaning you have completed everything necessary for check-in at the port). Additional functionality provided in the web version is booking dining reservations. Supposedly, these were only to be available after final payment made for all guests below Platinum level in Captain's Circle membership. Lately, reports are indicating others can make dining bookings (DineMyWay). Once on the ship, the Princess App has a lot more functionality than you see pre-cruise. Pre-Cruise, there are some more things you can see and do in the actual App versus the web version. Note that any change to your cruise booking take a couple of days to be sync'd to the Princess App.
  7. I can confirm that when looking at Princess voyages on 3rd party booking engine, the Canadian-At-Par Fare Codes are still active for an unknown number of sailings. That said, I am not sure if one elects that option, that available perks are included. For example, right now PCL is offering $150/pp in OBC when doing "normal" booking in North America. If you elect the C-A-P offer, I don't think you get the OBC. OTOH, the C-A-P can save much more than $150.
  8. Change your password on Princess.com. Wait a day and then login to the App. Well, try log in the App right away, but don't be surprised if new pswd doesn't "take" right away.
  9. Some voyages have multiple CT's is all I can say.
  10. Because he assembled a full table of guests who "know" each other via the Roll Call?
  11. Nope - not what they are saying. The new restaurant will have the same cover charge as the CG and Sur La Mer before it. As you may know, guests who book the top Cruise Fare Package (Premier) receive two free SD covers per person during their voyage. Naturally, the new restaurant will be eligible for a free dinner in that situation.
  12. Cancel the soda package - and anything else ordered and paid for in Cruise Personalizer - and then cancel the cruise booking after those have processed (like next business day).
  13. News to me. Was this on some other social media platform?
  14. It doesn't cost PCL $80 to provide $135 retail worth of product.
  15. Were both of you on single voyages? The recent reports I have read where guests are receiving back less than expected were in situations of multiple B2B and had OBC on all voyages.
  16. This isn't directed at you personally. But, folks, we should not be letting Princess employees get away with this nonsense. A "glitch" is something temporary, unexpected, and that resolves itself due to something unusual occurring. A "bug" is a systemic problem that continually results in incorrect system processing and extends over time until it is resolved. Princess has very few - if any - "glitches". They do have plenty of "bugs". From Wikipedia: A glitch, which is slight and often temporary, differs from a more serious bug which is a genuine functionality-breaking problem.
  17. I wouldn't bother pre-ordering MedallionNet any longer. Here's why: 1. There is no longer any benefit to this as the pricing is now the same on board as pre-cruise (used to be more if you waited). 2. If you order on board, it is charged to your on-board account and any OBC you have pays for it. 3. There have been multiple reports on this forum that guests are finding the 4-device charge on board is $30, instead of the reported $40 (or presumably it is $40 in the Princess App???). No guarantee this will last and could be a mistake, but you could get just one 4-device package instead of two single-device packages for same dollar cost and have more flexibility. 4. No worries about the App bug that doesn't recognize correct CC Member Level. To sum up, there is nothing to lose by waiting and perhaps benefits to you to wait until day 1 on the ship.
  18. In ON, anything like that (prepared) or quick-service item is subject to HST unless under $4. Been like that for years and of course, successive gov'ts have never adjusted the original amount for inflation, so there isn't much left that fall under the limit. (At Tim's, you would have to order 1 donut at a time - LOL).
  19. A fall-back for sure. I wonder if they get that from approx value of 20 waters? I get more value from 10 beer and 10 Perrier.
  20. You forgot Hawaii. Emerald going to HI in May.
  21. I do not believe the App can book anytime for more than 8 people in a dining party.
  22. Yes, but that was related strictly to Southampton departures. The OP is sailing from west coast USA on Hawaiian voyage and that is a completely different situation for the answer to the percentage question. I couldn't give an answer, having never done a cruise from the west coast of North America, but I would bet my next final payment that the percentage dressed in suit or tux wouldn't get within a parsec of 90%.
  23. ?? I never travel without long pants - as well as shorts if the climate makes sense for them.
  24. He mentioned more than once about 90%, so I would infer that about 10% elected something in the smart casual realm.
