  1. The way a charge is reversed on board is to credit your cabin folio with Refundable OBC.
  2. Just because you clicked on the mid-ship section on Princess.com when booking your cabin, if the same cabin type exists mid-fwd or mid-aft (as with DW), then you could be anywhere. If you have a GTY DW, you could be assigned that or any other higher category in Princess echelon of cabin categories. Those would be any of the unobstructed Deluxes, any Mini-Suite, or any Suite. All-in-all, things shouldn't turn out too badly if they upgrade you when assigning a cabin.
  3. If they are selling GTY's in "your" category, then it is okay, but cabin selection is not okay. Some risk involved in possibly losing the existing cabin choice. I think it is often more just the delay in that cabin re-appearing rather than it being snapped up a second after the cancel.
  4. Not all GTY's have Non-Ref deposits. In fact, most don't because you can book a GTY in most all categories and only the lead-ins have the Non-Ref deposit.
  5. Beg to differ. Why would someone buy glass(es) when they are available by request? Any they would be bulky to pack and get home safely. Easier to simply purchase at home in person or online.
  6. Yeah, they'd have to be offering me a WC for at least half-price in order to have to be Mr Dressup for 4 months.
  7. No - not in the context asked. The OP will already have a booking made with cash deposits on each leg. They would need to cancel and re-book new in order to use FCD's they plan to purchase in future. Otherwise, yes, a guest could be booking four voyages at once - whether separate voyages or B2B2B2B - and if they had sufficient FCD's on account, all could be covered with deposits for guest and travel partner and OBC's earned on all segments.
  8. I purchase every cruise - even if I have some on file - so that I have fresher dates. I then call in to Princess after the cruise and cancel any excess I don't want/need.
  9. For those using a TA, I would suggest when wanting to put a cruise on hold to first check into whether your agency has a self-serve booking engine instead of doing it on Princess.com. One other poster recommended this on page 1. If you do the booking on your agency website, your TA can easily pick up where you left off and no need to fuss with transfer form. I am not aware of a third-party booking engine that offers up FCD option for a deposit. This is because the booking engines are generic and cover multiple cruise lines and don't appear to have any specific features. If your agency booking process requires payment at the end, just put in fake credit card number (if you know how to alter some of your CC digits and get it accepted as a valid number). What happens is the booking gets made and you will have a booking in Princess system and get a confirmation number back. However, payment will have failed and the agency will be looking to you to provide a valid number. But that's NBD as you are going to follow up with your agent. The above is useful if agency is closed or your TA is off and you want to be sure to grab a price point or particular cabin.
  10. I have been able to have Riedel glass(es) in the DR. Once there, waiter kept at his/her station for the duration of the voyage. Last Fall, he needed to ask permission, but wasn't a problem (I gather supvr wanted to know).
  11. It's a new announcement and states implementing in late May. They didn't tell us when stopping the old one, but obviously it will end between now and late May.
  12. Sounds like it used to be ... and sounds good. Not every terminal has this setup. But at least should have the separate waiting area if checked in prior to boarding time.
  13. No problem, sir. That will be $240 for you!! BTW, I am not sure what you meant by confusion in earlier post mentioning the former WMD. You mentioned Silverado. I think the 2-3 times I was at one, it was Mondavi. Anyway, the $40 WMD is history - same as long cruiser OBC bonuses, internet minutes, etc. I don't see any confusion - they replaced the product and have made a feeble attempt to justify the new price.
  14. 1. You should make sure Princess - or your TA - cross-references the two bookings so that it is clear you all are travelling together. 2. You can add Travel Companions in the Princess App by sharing each other's booking confirmation number and add that. 3. Once that is done, ONE of you can make dining reservations and add the other two Travel Companions as Dining partners and then that person is booking for 4 people. Look for Private table space and system will place you in a 4-top. 4. If you don't get consistent dining, try not to sweat it too much and speak to DR Mgr on your first day aboard. Other than what Princess sells, you can investigate and book your own private excursions. Princess sometimes offers small group or private car experiences in port, but you will do much better to book your own independently. PS - Based on your sail date, you should be seeing all excursions now and they won't come up with more, but the popular ones will get booked up. We very rarely ever do a Princess excursion and always look to find a private provider in each port and seek to share with small number of fellow cruisers using the Roll Call forum.
  15. If it was "old school", perhaps the price lists were as well (in which case the old price limit would be fine)?
  16. Perhaps, but I recall us boarding a ship in Sydney pre-Covid and there was a designated area for Elites/Suites to wait for boarding as I recall. Princess doesn't likely have "lounges" in foreign ports. We are nowhere near the MTP's on Princess (or any other line for that matter), but have boarded in 4 different international ports and one port was like two different ports due to location. None had a "lounge", but did have priority waiting area prior to ship opening up for guests. I recall a couple of times being in Port Everglades and not in Princess' main terminal and again was just a sectioned off seating area (long time ago now).
  17. Okay. That's good for a larger group travelling. I am pretty sure nothing >10-top, other than the special table section for Chef Table Lumiere and WInemaker's Dinner.
  18. As someone else suggested, perhaps you arrived after general boarding had begun and then there is no need for a lounge nor priority waiting area as you just head right onto the ship after completing the check-in process.
  19. Yes, AFAIK. In fact, some of the older ones might be showing age.
  20. What terminal were you at? Something a-miss here. Most certainly there is as others attest.
  21. Cruising a lot about the Sun and the Sea, so it makes sense. IMO, many suggestions make sense except "Global", @JimmyVWine - I just don't think it has any romantic sound to it and I am thinking PCL wants to evoke something more along that line.
  22. I had to look it up. I don't have any lasting memories of whatever episodes I saw. Now I wonder if that episode was an inspiration for the Charlton Heston movie, Soylent Green. Anyway, I suppose we could discuss the new PCL menu items now?
