  1. PCL just raised the Plus from $40 to $50 when adding the new Premier ($75). Perhaps it was due for an increase, but they certainly did not add value. In fact, they dumbed down the wines (by glass) offered. Now, they want an additional $10 for it. Per Day. And you don't get those extra smoothies and ice cream sundaes PER DAY. Nope, it's a total for the voyage, so a lot of bucks to spend for longer voyages IMO. If I go to the gym, I just do my own thing and not interested in a class I wouldn't be carrying on with at home. As for shipping Medallions, the devil will be in the details, because PCL doesn't ship Medallions today to anyone outside USA - even for a fee. Are they now going to include Canada, UK, Australia, NZ? Are they going to stop sending Medallions to US residents? That has been a big selling point or "wow factor" for guests to receive Medallions just ahead of their cruise. It doesn't seem to be causing a big delay at port, so maybe not a big deal, but I imagine long-time US customers won't be happy if they have to pay to get a Medallion. The way I see it, for a 10-night Caribbean voyage, they want another $100 for each of us ($200 total), and for that we would get a couple of ice cream sundaes and a couple of smoothies. Whoop-de-doo. Yes, we are Standard fare bookers and each move Princess makes in upping the cost for all-inclusive, just cements our decision more. Crew Incentive = $29/day total. MedallionNet 4-device plan = $10/day total. Leaves $81 for drinks and treats PER DAY. Not for us. Hope they sell lots of it because my stock is on life support.
  2. Well done. Pretty exactly echoes my sentiments since day one of this App. It is very clear that there was a lack of true SME's and end users involved. It was old school "build a system and the users will get used to it". Clearly no thorough testing, not regression testing as stuff kept coming out buggy with obvious issues.
  3. I certainly agree that the WMD is a great value and enjoyable event. My wife doesn't like to go anymore since she drinks very little wine. Since we had a rare (for us) balcony on the Island earlier in November, I decided to go for the UBD (just $10 more pp) and it was excellent as well. A nice treat even though we actually ate inside the door instead of outside due to the cool temperature and breeze. (The WMD is only on the Royal and Sphere Class ships).
  4. With FP at a typical 90-day mark, there is about 45 days where flight can be changed if Flexible Fare chosen. You can also request early ticketing. I did this earlier this year because I knew I had the rock-bottom fare and didn't want to leave it to Princess/EZ-Air because many reports indicated people were not being ticketed and were also reports of cancelled bookings due to lack of payment.
  5. Correct - if you mean fees/svc charges. But the actual airfare for the earlier flight could be higher, lower, or the same as the flight the OP is booked on. Guest has to pay any fare difference, or receive back a refund.
  6. Not aimed at you, but I really get tired with Princess calling major system faults, bugs, and data corruption as glitches. Seems to me an attempt to minimize. Reminds me of an IT project I was on a long time ago where project issues were termed opportunities.
  7. You need to self-service this to stop the delays and aggravation. Login to your Cruise Personalizer. In the travel section, pull up your current flight information. Check to see if you are ticketed. It is early to be ticketed for FEB 2023 travel, but check it anyway (or did you request early ticketing?). It is important since once your are ticketed, you are subject to airline rules for changes and cancellations. EZ-Air may offer you alternate flight choices (I could the same for a time after I was ticketed for our Europe flights this fall). If you can, simply use the EZ-Air booking pages to CHANGE FLIGHT. Put in your selection parameters and see what comes back. You will see new price quotes and can tell if any difference to what you paid already. Either accept the change or cancel out. No risk to losing what you have by shopping around. As others have mentioned, you may not see a good price via EZ-Air for the new flight you want. Keep checking. If ticketed, why not ask the airline if they can switch you out? If you are ticketed, you won't be able to refund and take money to book directly with the airline (most likely that is the answer). If not ticketed, you can cancel out of EZ-Air up to the 45 day mark for a refund. Then, you can book direct wit your airline.
  8. I am glad this worked out for you. When I saw the post title, I was looking to see if you booked with a TA, but appears not. In the interest of others who might end up with this glitch, it happened to me. We were paid in full as well and all of a sudden, I received an email and invoice from Princess that I owed a few dollars on one cruise and more on another. After calling and looking into the numbers, I could pretty much figure out what was going on. When you book through a TA that gives a cruise fare discount, Princess still expects the full invoice to be paid. Let's say the cruise invoice is $1,000 if you had booked directly. But your TA is selling to you for $900. Your credit card is billed $900 through the TA, but should appear as Princess Cruises on your credit card bill (never pay the Agency - only PCL). Unseen to you, the Agency has to make up the other $100 either in a direct payment or from their commission credits. If something goes off-kilter in the System, some of those Agency credits may "come undone" - similar to what you mentioned. In my case, once I realized the situation, I got the TA involved and it got sorted out. Now that I think back, I had made an inquiry about an OBC amount that had suddenly decreased and someone at Princess corrected that after I made inquiry. It could be that change triggered the payment issue. Something else to be on the watch for as the Princess systems can certainly cause guest issues when technical bugs and glitches strike.
  9. This should be asked on the port page for Fort Lauderdale.
  10. Agree. This post doesn't belong here. I do agree that driving on Oahu is no big deal.
  11. It depends on the port and if there are overhead gangways that can be adjusted to align with an upper deck, such a 6 or 7.
  12. You need to call into Princess CVP line and ask for someone new. It will be random. If you run into interference, contact customer relations and ask them.
  13. Using the Internet Cafe is free. But, you must purchase MedallionNet access in order to use internet features. This is sold by the day or by the cruise (for a per/day charge).
  14. I don't trust a TA to know more than I do. I don't trust the MC App either. I doubt they have any intelligence in the code to analyze what type of ID is required. It does seem like they did a reasonable amount of due diligence - just not enough unfortunately.
  15. Okay, but why not book the Plus package and just pay any differential if some drinks exceed $12? It would be beneficial to review the package info and understand the offering before making a decision. Yes, the Premier has some extras, but only have value if you want photos and think you will win prizes. The SD credits may make a difference, depending on your situation. As I understand from other posters, most bar drinks are covered by Plus and Premier just gives access to more wine choices without an upcharge. Of course, there are going to be wines > $18/glass.
  16. I do believe there has been a cut-down on ingredient quality and variety of choice from my Regal experience in October. That said, I found the meals and food items better prepared on Island immediately following the Regal voyages. Portions have not bothered me too much as you can always ask for more. Sounds bad for Thanksgiving if they didn't provide the "real thing". Even pre-Covid, the turkey meal offered on American Night (final night of America-based voyages), was just ordinary and nothing approaching gourmet.
  17. They have self-service machine you tap Medallion at and can review or print account. They are emailing accounts post-cruise instead of printing paper now. Not much point in covering Internet benefit as that has been beat to death when it first was announced long ago. I will just say that I much prefer paying 50% for unlimited service, but doesn't suit all folks. Things have changed and we either accept it or see if grass is any greener over the fence.
  18. Typical of Princess not to update PDF or other details in online docs after things have changed. Originally, they had no way in the App to sell for less than full cost. Eventually, they updated MC App to apply 50% discount based on recognizing CC Member Level. To be accurate, they blew that with some other update and briefly pulled it back before reimplementing the change. So, it works now.... as long as CC Member Level is correct. Still the Refindable OBC option also exists.
  19. I will just add that Princess is pretty clear about this process on the ships - that guests need to be able to self-disembark if using this option. Otherwise, get an early option with assistance.
  20. Not quite everything true. In the earlier discussion I quoted, you had replied the following to the point that PLUS and PREMIER cruise fare options have gratuities (crew appreciation) baked in >> "There are other packages for drinks and wifi, that do not include gratuities.". Continuing on the topic of drinks, every drink package sold has bar gratuity of 18% baked in to the total cost paid. I was just clarifying in my post above that there is no way to dodge the baked in bar gratuity whether Plus/Premier cruise fare or separate beverage package. Internet (MedallionNet) has never been a tippable service.
  21. Login and tap on your icon at the top left and a pop-out panel appears from the left with a menu. Your photo/icon will be larger now and there is a Princess SeaWitch colored to match your Captain's Circle Level. Many people on here have reported over the past year, that they are colored blue (newbie). This means that the MC App is not recognizing your true member level. Since this has been on-going for many months, it is clear the IT Team is either ignoring it or is incapable of fixing it. You can call in for an OCEAN Medallion team member help with MC App and see if they can fix it for you. Another option is to have your cruise partner sign in and see what they see and maybe they are correctly represented and can order MedallionNet with the discount. If what I suggested for you is true and they cannot fix it, you will have to pay full price and then get Refundable OBC for the 50% on board.
  22. Not true. If one is silly enough to purchase the separate - and very expensive - alcohol beverage packages via the Cruise Personalizer, the 18% bar gratuity is baked into the price, so no way to dodge that one.
  23. Once we had "our table" arranged, there was no need to wait in line as it was ready and allocated to us. So, we could just walk in, acknowledge and say "HI" to door staff and walk to the table. This is the way it should work if you have arranged same table and waiters for full voyage.
