1. Are you a captains club member? You can pay for a c3 and get a c2. Or pay for a c2 and get a c1.

Not sure if c3s are good for much anymore but first time cruisers and guarantees unless people really want them.

Concierge isn't good for much unless getting the points is important. I thought only Elite and above got the free upgrade. Am I confused?

  2. Yes, we were on her in December and had the experience you encountered on the Reflection. Perhaps someone can confirm this on a more recent Connie cruise. I would not ever attend this event, but my DW is disappointed with my reclusiveness, so I tag along. We'll be on the Silhouette in two weeks, the Connie in March and the Eclipse in April, so it's important for me to know the situation, as it will provide ammunition :)

  3. i spoke to this agent as i always pay my grats up front and take anytime dining they wouldnt give free grats but offered me 375 dollars obc and an extra 70 dollars for dining this was on top of the celebrity offer of free bev

    undecided

I have had trouble obtaining the $70 specialty dining credit. It didn't show up on my statement and when I checked with the purser, I was told Celebrity had no record of it. I was given the credit as a courtesy, but now I have the same situation on an upcoming cruise. The TA told me his company would honor the credit, if Celebrity doesn't but it seems like it's catch as catch can. Has anyone had similar experience?

  4. I used that feature on AA to beat the security line at LAX on a flight to Hawaii last year.

Delta has our names in their system and when we print our boarding pass it clearly states "TSA PRECHECK". Makes life a lot easier in major airports but it doesn't work as well in smaller venues which don't have the same capability. No more stickers, as someone has noted.

  5.
I like a balcony to be able to walk out into the open area any time of the day without having to go into a public place.

Sitting out there in the night just wearing a robe looking at the stars, islands and ships in the distance. Reading and maybe even falling asleep.

In the morning having room service for coffee and etc and enjoying it on the balcony watching the sunrise or motion of waves. Soemtimes seeing flying fish and birds diving into the water.

Lots of nice features that you wouldn't have.

Now you're talking!!! At night I go out there with my Kindle and usually fall asleep under the stars. Manys the night I get into bed at 2AM. It's actually become one of the great joys of cruising for me. There are other things that bring joy on a balcony, too !!!
  6. On a previous thread someone had posted the proper protocol for meals on Celebrity ships.

As I recall, one should attend the elite breakfast (aka Captains Club Coffee Break) following the early morning wakeup room service breakfast and breakfast in Blu (if appropriate), either preceding or following the obligatory stop at the waffle station to get the famous Celebrity waffles hot off the griddle with your favorite toppings. Then the traditional breakfast in the main dining room follows, preceding the late morning breakfast at the buffet.

After that pre-lunch brunch begins, but it is a topic best reserved for another thread.

It is very important to schedule your morning wakeup room service breakfast early enough each day to allow sufficient time to fit them all in because the late morning buffet breakfast is scheduled to close at 11:30, although sometimes you can get lucky and still have your last breakfast of the day there after that time.

Try not to get them out of order, but if you should occasionally miss one you should do your best to make up for it by doubling up the next day to avoid disappointing the staff who work so hard to prepare all that food for you.

I know you're kidding, at least, I think you're kidding, but what you describe is pretty much what I do. Get my poached eggs in Blu, mosey over to Elite and have a mimosa and a bit more to eat, and then wind up in the buffet primarily to get something for the Queen who waits in the stateroom but also to grab something for myself, as Royalty doesn't like to dine alone! I don't eat a lot in any one place but I do make the rounds.

Breakfast is the one meal which makes me feel I am on vacation.

  7. My cruise sails in just over 3 months. When I check My Celebrity it says I have no reservations.. I have already paid in full. I wouldn't like to be the person who tries to keep me off that ship! Celebrity's IT dept is nothing short of a complete disgrace and has been for a long time no matter what we all say.

Did you add your cruise info? This is one of my pet peeves. The customer has to put in his own information, though it's not a big deal

  8.

BTW- Does anyone staying in those AQ's near the aft and aft have trouble with hall traffic noise of those coming and going to the Sunset Bar?

We stayed in 1110 which has a sitting area in front of it. Thought we might have a problem if it was actually used. Well, it was used on occasion by as many as five people with no negative effect on us. Cabins further forward might have some traffic coming off the deck. We have 1117 coming up, a bit further aft. I did notice food odors coming up the stair well but there was no effect in the cabin.

  9. Would like to hear how you got all 3? Is it due to you being a long time cruiser? Were newbies so I presume we would not be offered something like that.

I think he's saying the third came courtesy of his TA, not from Celebrity.

Elites who are not heavy drinkers would probably benefit more from the gratuity offer, wouldn't they?

  10. X's website is not the place I go when researching cruises. I go to ANY TA's site and get much better information - including little flashy dots telling me which cabins are available.

I know X monitors these boards. They HAVE to know that we're frustrated with the website, yet they don't really seem to care. :(

Why should they care? The sheeple are filling their cabins regardless of the terrible web site. Now excuse me while I try once more to get luggage tags. ;(

  11. The best reason for carrying wine is that if they object to what you have, you'll know immediately and your bags will arrive at your stateroom with no problem. In re the box wine I was called to account for contraband (a can of Lysol) and the guy behind me was relieved of his box wine. He feigned ignorance but it did him no good. It really boils down to the luck of the draw.

  12. And last cruise, I saw Americans shouting to the crew and keeping their baseball hats in the MDR

Can we please refrain from Nationality bashing?!

Smoking on balconies is not allowed by Celebrity, and this for good safety reasons, It is however done by some passengers, not only Europeans. ( although we do have a lot of chain smokers, especially in Southern and Middle European countries.)
Too funny
