  1. I am 'down with the kids', it's the getting back up again that's the problem.
  2. Plain black trainers with formal will be fine. If anyone comments just mumble about " foot problems ".
  3. I've tried five or six times today. Got engaged tone for about five seconds and then call ended. Better than being on hold for 20 minutes!
  4. Not always there though are they? Seen staff pouring drinks maybe half the time. Particularly in the outside eating areas.
  5. But, Eavesway don't provide the included transfers for P&O. And, don't pickup anywhere near me.
  6. That option didn't come up when I did a dummy booking on their website.
  7. Not all ships have it on the tv. Anyway, you need to be your cabin. On the 'app' you can check at any time ie in the shop when contemplating a purchase.
  8. I can only repeat, there is no turndown service (unless in a suite) since covid. Turndown used to happen in the evening, the steward came into your cabin, changed towels, tidied up, turned the bed down and left chocolate on your pillow. In the dim and distant past even made a towel animal.
  9. Why would they do that? Both are concerning. No advantage in saying chickenpox rather than covid. Only a huge disadvantage if found to be lying.
  10. What turndown? Unless you are in a suite turndown hasn't happened since covid.
  11. National Express only has one service per day. It leaves at 0.50. Arrives at Birmingham at 6.30 with a three hour wait for the connection. It does arrive in Southampton at 12.30 though. A 5am start wipes me out for a day, it would take me week to recover from that journey!
  12. So have I! But you can't persevere when they won't talk to you!
  13. Just checked alternatives. Eavesway doesn't pick up locally anymore so will involve taxi, train, taxi, hotel then Eavesway. Same on return. Train involves two changes plus London Tube. Then taxis at either end. Plus a hotel. I am struggling to find any other feasible way! May have to cancel.
  14. How! I'm not quibbling about the government (or EU rules), but if P&O don't want to take someone on board (for whatever reason) they don't have to.
  15. That is irrelevant. The Government say you CAN travel with three moths left. They don't say P&O HAVE to let you travel with only three months left. If you want to cruise with P&O you abide with their rules. One employee, who gives the wrong information, cannot change the whole company's T&Cs. P&Os 'help' centre is notorious for giving out duff info.
  16. As I said above cruise ships don't always end up where they aim for. Therefore, to avoid stranding passengers in a country for which they don't have the proper paperwork, cruiselines enforce the stricter protocols.
  17. So it is only valid (for cruising purposes) until 9th March 23. Which has passed. As I said above, you may intend on going to Amsterdam but may not end up there.
  18. Ignore the expiry date on your passport. Look at the issue date, and add 10 years, then take off six months. That is the latest valid date. P&O (and most other cruise lines) insist on this because even though the ship might not intend on entering a port where it is required, it might end up there anyway. And in case of a medical emergency you might be taken to a country where the rules apply.
  19. Went through a dummy booking online. The deck plans in this process do not have symbols or a legend. Hence my query. I have since found deck plans on the site, but those are not the ones you see when booking online.
