  1. Thank you for the review. Good information. We sail the exact same itinerary in October. Have already booked the Steakhouse and Chef's Table. It will be our first time for the Chef's Table. Have Windwood Snorkeling booked, too. Sounds like we think alike!! You have spurred me to go ahead and get the golf cart. How was the food and how smokey was the casino?

  2. We drive to the ports (most of the time) so I can bring as much as I want or think I will need. Lets see. One suitcase for the kitchen sink... Just kidding. We each have one check in because it is too big for the scanner and we have one check in that carries our memory foam mattress topper and our snorkeling gear. Yes, we absolutely have to have the mattress topper if we want to walk erect for the week. Then one small wheeled carry on for our wine and a few personal things like bathing suits. So that is 3 large wheeled check in's and one small wheeled for carry on for a week cruise. I shall want for nothing. :o

  3. I would like to see children supervised by their parents and not running around the ship carefree and occasionally annoying. I would like to see no chair hogs allowed. And it is my understanding that the Paradise did not stay smoke free because they could not keep adequate non smoking personnel. FYI- Less than 15% of the population now smoke for for heaven's sake make the casino SMOKE FREE.

  4. So many questions. Let's see......Yes your daughter can use them. You can buy them for people through your account with their credit card information. They take about 7 to 10 days to arrive for the $100 cards because they come regular mail. No, there is no sales tax.

  5. Nice job. Sounds like you had a good time. We are still trying to decide about the Chef's Table. I'm kinda picky and my husband will eat anything so he doesn't think it will be worth it for me. Also, I think the menu is changing to the menu on the Vista and it doesn't look as good to me. Did you enjoy the new dining venues - Blue Iguana Cantina and Guy's Burgers?

  6. I don't remember seeing which ports you will be visiting. That would be important to me in making my decision. We are set to sail the Valor for the first time in October so I have no experience with that ship. But, we sailed the Breeze last November for an 8 night southern. It was by far my favorite Carnival ship. We had a blast and there was a lot to do. With that being said, I would probably choose the Valor and make it a nice vacation for the family and maybe a little less stressful for you. Mostly because it looks like you have some really nice cruises already scheduled. Really, either decision will be perfect!! :)

  7. Well, I'm a little disappointed. We are doing this same cruise in October on the Valor. We had similar complaints on the Breeze in November regarding the MDR. We usually just ate in the buffet because of the slow, inattentive service. Not because of a wait to get a table. We have never had to wait that long on a ship to be seated. Question- How was the casino? Was it smoky?

  8. Does this only apply to people who booked directly through carnival? we booked through a 3rd party because it got on free on-board credit, and the price was the same as booking through carnival. I *think* that at this point our cruise may have come down around $40pp, but i'm not 100% sure. I won't bother checking if fare reductions are only for people who booked directly with the cruise line.

All you have to do is contact your TA while the price reduction is active, and if you qualify, they will get you the price reduction. IF- it is not past final payment unless you are early saver. And if you have paid your full deposit. It gets confusing with the price reductions and all of the different programs but you should always ask. It may very well result in some extra $$ in your pocket through either a lower final payment or some OBC. :D
