So far you have one helpful post and one that was not at all helpful. Okgirl has some really good ideas. I would suggest ear plugs, download a sound machine app on your phone and ask for a fan. Leaving the balcony door open lets the cold out and might affect your neighbors air as well so I would not suggest that. Good luck. One year Carnival upgraded us to under the Lido. OMG it was horrible. The best sleep we had was one night we went up and slept by the pool. Seriously, the sound machine app should help.

Do you think the staterooms will get new, interactive televisions? We have been spoiled sailing on the newer ships.
-
I'm wondering if it is because of a Coast Guard or CDC inspection.
-
Exactly. Carnival may have different rules but travel agents can take over a booking pre-final payment. At least, the ones in the travel agency I work for can. :D
That's good to know. I always do it within 90 days just to be sure but just in case I count wrong, I would still be covered. Thanks for the info.
-
Actually, it is 90 days. They need your booking number and your pin.

Thanks to all of you for your help. I love this kind of stuff. Legal stealing. So much fun. I have been purchasing the AARP gift cards and my debit card says "Redemption Center" so it would not qualify for double points. I have one more question. Is there a minimum number of points that can be converted to statement cash? I am waiting for my card to arrive so I can get started.
-
I just got a Carnival Credit Card from Barclay's that offered a $75 gift card and $100 OBC. Not bad for 5 minutes work.
-
For example: They would say the current price for the balcony is $2000 and you already paid $800 for the interior so you would now owe $1200 if you want to upgrade.
-
I tried to apply on Friday for the email offer of $75 gift card and 10,000 points but I guess it was busy and I could not get through until Saturday evening. After I filled out the application, it told me that the instant approval was unavailable and they would let me know within 10 days. After 10 hours instead of 10 days, they sent me an approval by e-mail. After that I started doing some research here with you good folks and because I am blonde and over 50, I wanted to clarify something. I know it is better to build up the points but if I am not going to do that can I make a payment of $100 with my TA and then transfer the 10,000 for $100 credit on the balance? That way I would get double points, get my first purchase out of the way to get the 10,000, and be able to use the $100 sooner than later. And yes, the TA payment would say Carnival. Thanks for the advice.

Wow!! For once I have good timing. I ordered 3 days ago for $2.99.

They have a totally useless smoking policy in the casino. Non smoking machines mixed in with the smoking machines. If we could only train the smoke.
-
And according to JH, new hot tubs.
-
I checked mine and it doesn't have a spot for adjusted points.

First of all, take your mosquito repellent. In Aruba and Curacao, we walked through the shops at the port and found a tour on an air conditioned bus. They both lasted about 3 hours and cost $20. Perfect way to see the tourist stuff for a very reasonable cost. Be are going back to Aruba in October and definitely going to hit the beach. We will take the public bus for a couple of bucks. Curacao was my favorite and maybe my favorite island over all. Second only to Grand Turk.

I never ate a burger on a ship until Guy's came along. They're very good, lots of toppings to choose from & the fries are also good. I think they are laced with crack, so once you have one, you always want more.
OMG- Laced with crack. That is funny as hell and you may be right. You may have just put your finger on the addiction to Guy's. Crack and the SMC. I like the "Ringer". TOOOO Funny.............
-
BTW. The burgers are FANTASTIC. They are fresh, hot, juicy, with totally melted and oozy cheese, grilled onions................. I have to stop now.

On our 7 day cruise on the Valor last year we had at least one every day!
The Valor is being dry docked in April/ May and having a Guy's Burger's Joint and a BlueIguana Cantina installed at that time. Therefore, you did not have a Guy's Burger last year on the Valor. I hope you remember where you were. :D
-
It is easy to find the bed. Just keep walking forward and you'll run right into it. :D:eek::D
-
I just checked Carnival's website after getting a sales e-mail from them and under explore ships, it shows that a Blue Iguana Cantina is coming soon to the Valor. Also, Guy's Burger Joint which we already knew. So, yeah....... Arepas and Burritos for breakfast and hamburger's and tacos for lunch. :D:D:D
-
I went to http://www.cruisedeckplans.com and compared all of the conquest class ships. There is absolutely a place for the Blue Iguana Cantina. Maybe JH just didn't have all of the info and we will be surprised. JH did post that 2.0 upgrades will include Red Frog Rum Bar, Red Frog Pub, Alchemy Bar, Guy's Burger Joint, Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, new hot tubs, and I think a sports bar. We should know for sure soon.

I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist and an Cardiovascular Sonographer and my DH is a doctor. I have vaped for almost 6 years, no nicotine. Yes, it is a MUCH better choice. What you read on Yahoo home page is not the truth. I'm glad the OP was able to get the info they needed for their trip.

I have carried on batteries, juice, atomizers, chargers..... Everything we need with absolutely no problem. Last year on the Breeze, the year before on the Reflection, the year before on the Dream, the year before...... No problem at all in the carry on and I don't believe that you would have an issue on the checked luggage, either. Have fun and vape on.:D Congratulations on not smoking anymore to your husband. His heart and lungs are much happier and healthier.

I don't know about the Fascination, but in November the Breeze mid-ship restaurant was open for lunch the first day. It was either deck 2 or deck 3 right off of the atrium. We had just boarded and a waiter from the restaurant grabbed us and invited us in for lunch. Great way to start the cruise. This is the first time for me that a MDR was open on embarkation day. Limited menu but very relaxing with no chaos. We had a couple of drinks and a Caesar salad with chicken.

Anything I didn't have to cook or clean up after is fantastic to me. With that being said, I really like the Guys burgers and most items on the SeaDay Brunch. And the specialty steakhouse food is really delicious.

You're welcome. Have fun!! I doubt they can do anything about the noise from the galley so you are probably gonna have to embrace the suck.
