  1. Portland has a drydock facility that has been used before for other ships and other cruise lines. If the ship can not fit there, i wont be surprised if they use another heavy lift vessel like what they used for the vista many years ago
  2. noticed the same thing for my cruise next year. with this "sale" i am only saving only 10 dollars or less
  3. i am also sailing tomorrow on the escape too. Bermuda weather does not look that bad, some wind and some rain
  4. The website is very clear what happens when you cancel: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3401/~/i-need-to-cancel-my-booking%2C-is-there-a-penalty%3F
  5. in true royal fashion, royal raised the prices by about 15-20 dollars making the discounted black friday sale roughly the same price as yesterday, only difference is around 5-10 dollars. its a decent sale. there is only a few excursions that is truly 50% off
  6. there is no tax on bids. it could be currency exchange issue like from GBP to USD depending on your location and booking
  7. carnival does this with their mtd/your time dinning and its amazing. i wish all cruise lines have it
  8. here is the page: https://www.stockperks.com/carnivalcorp i can not find any information about this on carnival corporation website about this it seems all this app does it collects your info and then forwards it to carnival, kind of like a middle man
  9. yes it is available and yes you need to go to the shore excursion desk
  10. its not a deck chair, i noticed a few ships have two wooden benches to sit down
  11. yes. both Royal and Norwegian have a standby line for those that do not have a reservation.then about 15 minutes before the show they let you in
  12. on some ships i like deck 9/10 better since you can stand on top of the bridge and sometimes the bridge wing so you can look down the side of the ship
  13. this image been posted around on social media for over a decade now or longer. its not new
  14. off topic but Norwegian has the best carpet with the fishes on the carpet, the fish that is facing forward points to the forward end of the ship. very useful
  15. it seems random. when i was on the escape a few weeks ago i got the terminal at around 1230 and was given a group 32 boarding card which is strange as i had priority boarding due to my status. as i made my way down the terminal to the waiting/boarding area they had made announcement about priority guests and boarding group 28 or some other random group. I joined the line to board the ship and handed in the boarding group card. It seems like they didnt check the card at all
  16. my cruise next year only went down by about 10 dollars, no big price drop for me and for some odd reason a solo cabin is about 50 dollars more then a studio cabin
