  1. other cruise lines have no issue going full speed between NYC and Puerto Plata. It seems like Norwegian is trying to spin this into a fuel saving thing by not running the ship at 22-24 knots. a lot of fuel can be saved by going around 16-18 knots
  2. they also have other monstrosity doing 3-4 day cruises out of Florida
  3. there is also no self service laundry facilities on the Venezia/Firenze class ships
  4. most likely the prima class lifeboats can not be used as tenders like what the breakaway class has
  5. i wonder where these mega monsters ships can go. They will be too big for ports that need to under a bridge like NYC and some ports is starting to come out with passenger caps like Bar Harbor, Juneau and other European ports Unfortunately it seems like Norwegian wants to complete with Royal Icon class ships
  6. us department of state website, the same agency that issues passports says your passport must be valid at the time of entry of going to bermuda: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Bermuda.html
  7. Moderno and Teppanyaki needs to be booked first before the a la carte
  8. they should be doors so that you can access the forward elevators from the pool area
  9. MDR reservations is not needed nor required. you can just show up whenever you want onboard the ship
  10. They are going to provision the ship in Port Canaveral for the long TA crossing instead of doing it in New York.. This is very common
  11. no, the ship sails empty with no passengers. it is a crew only sail and the crew will get a much needed days off it is very very common for ships to sail passenger-less between Florida and New York. that is the quickest way to reposition a ship
  12. For those on the breakaway Canada/new England cruises in the fall and want to go down the rabbit hole of itinerary changes and port time adjustment, you should check out the governmental site of St John and Halifax for their ship schedule St John: https://www.sjport.com/cruise-schedule Halifax: https://portcontrol.portofhalifax.ca/ ( click on the globe icon and then the calendar icon) Compare the port times that is on these sites to the norwegian website. most of the times on the norwegian website is incorrect. I am on the October 13 Breakaway sailing. Norwegian website shows the port time for St John to be 8am to 4pm, St John ship schedule shows 10am to 10pm. Norwegian website shows the port time for Halifax to be 10am to 8pm, Halifax ship schedule shows 3pm to 11pm. the excursions that are currently available for St John all have a 1045/11am start time and for Halifax all of the excursions have a 330/4pm start time. Clearly someone at Norwegian is aware of the port time difference. Why is Norwegian not notifying guests currently booked on this sailing about this changes and why is the website not updated with these changes? Which port time is correct? Most likely i think Norwegian is waiting until June when final payment is due and then send out of the itinerary changes notifications your convenience so you can not switch sail dates or make changes to the booking. this is what norwegian usually does from what i noticed
  13. 2025 schedule seems like placeholder like Norwegian is reservation specific dates for their ships on those dates. Its too early to tell what will happen eventfully happen. the full schedule for 2025 will not be released until this time next year. It was around late February when i noticed the portcall website had dates for 2024 and when i noticed most of all the breakaway October cruises were missing I wonder how long it will take for me to get the official itinerary change notice about the October 13 sailing
  14. NY is my homeport. on all of the cruise lines i sailed out of the terminal, no one checked or enforce the check in time what i do see most of the times is for better or worse, they just put everyone in one big long line and ignore whatever signs they put on. most likely that on time line was closed somewhere so they directed everyone to the other line
  15. This seems like the official ship schedule: https://maine.portcall.com/#!?tab=2&port=Bar Harbor it was found on https://www.barharbormaine.gov/190/Cruise-Ship-Information
  16. why is Norwegian canceling the ports on a few of the breakaway sailings in the fall? Both the October 13 and 20 cruise is effected with no longer calling on Bar Harbor and looking at the port schedule it looks like they will be another cruise in September with the port being canceled. Norwegian should of already made the reservations for these sailings last year when they open the booking for these sailings it looks like some reservations is not being honoring or it could be something else like new restrictions this with only have bar harbor only have 1 ship in port compare to the having multiple ships in port at the same time
  17. Is this for the breakaway? I am on the October 13 sailing. when i look at the bar harbor ship schedule, breakaway is not listed on the date Norwegian says we will be there
  18. depending on your sail date, it is might be toooo early for shore excursions to be added for that specific sailing. once carnival finish working with the excursions company's for that sail date, the excursions will be added to the website
  19. most likely you are accidentally clicking on one of many ads on the site
  20. they are lots of cruise ship schedules that can be found on google. a good site is cruisetimetables: https://www.cruisetimetables.com/cruises-to-coco-cay-bahamas.html
  21. usually it is a year and half in advance so maybe around November 2024 - February 2025
  22. it is still cheaper then other cruise line like royal and norwegian
  23. from what i noticed with my credit card, the pending authorization charge will say carnival then once the charged gets posted it will say carnival fun shop or some other carnival thing
