Obviously it will be tough to predict the weather...especially in the Bahamas. It does tend to rain later afternoons over early afternoons from all my experiences and typically when it rains it comes and goes and is rarely a downpour. Its warm and very humid...nothing like CA (I grew up in Orange County CA).

may run into some issues if safety of your child is a concern...which I assume it would be :) There is a Hilton walking distance from the cruise ship port...about 10-15 mins walk. You can purchase a day pass there and use their beach and pool. They may be a nice option for your situation.

It was fun but it was costly. For me...it was enjoyable but not worth the cost vs the time spent. If you dont vacation often...go for it, spend the money and enjoy your vacation

3mm full is what I would dive with this time of year. come Jan/Feb I would go into a 5mm.

lower will be closer. i dont have any photos of the play area but I am sure a google search will turn up 100s.

piece of mind and safety is worth ponying up a little extra cash for the day pass at one of the resorts. I am out there often and if i plan to spend the day at a beach id pay for the day pass.

no one that I am aware of but I have never had any issues bringing back bottles in my checked luggage...just wrap them up nicely in your clothing.

personally I wouldnt rent one again after the first time. while its nice having your own space to store your stuff and sit in the shade...its in the middle of the cruise complex/margaritaville. When I vacation I like to get out and see where I am at....visit the island. the cabanas feel like they are on the cruise ship...all the same people you see on the ship are right in front of you. The beach isnt right there...the pool is. I would rather get a chair and umbrella on the beach for a lot less money and actually enjoy what the island has to offer.

been out diving with them as well. great outfit.

Nachi Cocum. I have been there 4 times...and will without a doubt go back for more. nice beach. nice pool. good drinks and great food.

tourist trap. some neat stuff but some HIGH priced neat stuff.

used capt marvins a handful of times on trips to Cayman. They have always been fantastic.

Ive used X-streme cave tubing 6 times now and every time has been a great experience with them. Plus they serve you lunch included in the price and have the smallest groups on the river

yes...cave tubing! its amazing! Been to Belize 6 times...have gone cave tubing every single time :D

Cabbage is my personal fav beach in Nassau. Always respect the ocean as it can be unforgiving. If you are not a strong swimmer then I would avoid entering an ocean that appears to be rough. If you have any doubts...go with your gut and stick to a beach chair instead

you guys and thinking the water is chilly...its the Bahamas  water temps rarely dip below about 72-75 degrees. Sure its colder than say mid summer but still plenty bearable to swim in. Now if you are diving....a 5mm suit would be ideal.
Junkanoo beach is so so. its close...maybe 15-20 min walk if you don't stop anywhere along the way. If you only plan to spend an hour or 2 on the beach, its not a bad choice. If you plan to make a day on the beach your game plan then I would choose Cabbage over Junkanoo

My experiences at Senior frogs is if you walk up to the bar and ask them for a wifi code they will give you one...its good for an hour and it was free. I opted to buy a drink and sit down at a table by the water the last time I was there...walked up to the bar and then asked for a code. No one hassled me here and wifi worked fine to check my email and FB account.
great useful post for first timers thats for sure :)

I like your thinking Tutontow. :D

I have personally seen prices go both ways. You need to know what you are looking for...price it out on the ship and then when in port price it there. I have seen it a few bucks cheaper in port and then I have seen a better deal on the ship. And with most cruise lines...keep in mind you will not be allowed to take the bottle back to your room to enjoy while on the cruise, it will be stored by ship security until the final evening of your cruise when they will return it to your cabin after dinner sometime.

If the ships are in port...they will be open.
-
as stated...McDonalds has wifi. Also right near the cruise port is Senior Frogs. If you buy a drink or food you can request a coupon code to use free wifi there as well. If you sit on their outside patio near the water your skype viewer will have a pretty view of the water and the cruise ships behind you.
