  1. HMC is a private island. You wont get haggled but locals trying to sell you things. everything on the island is owned by Carnival and is a cashless island...you use your sail and sign card for purchases on the island. its a very peaceful and quiet island. If you want a REALLY relaxed day....HMC is the way to go.

  2. Casual, Johnny Rockets...burgers and kid friendly food. Go in what you have on. If you want something a little nicer, head up to graycliff and have dinner there. great food but you would want to clean up. its pretty close to the cruise port.

  3. Another thing to keep in mind is that the water is chilly in the Bahamas in February

Not sure what your idea of chilly is lol. 73-75 degrees is the average water temps in the Bahamas in Feb lol. 75 degree ocean water is pretty warm if you ask me lol. I have been in the Bahamas/Caribbean waters year round and have never thought the water was cold. :)

  4. Carnival- more of a party crowd. You tend to get younger folks on these ships. no activities like zip line or rock climbing on Carnival. But they do tend to be the most affordable in the way of price for the actual cruise.

RCCL- they have the rock climbing as you mentioned

One you didnt mention- Disney. If you want high quality food, nice rooms, clean ships and NO CASINO....Disney is the answer. Disney has AMAZING dinning options...food quality is superb. Staff is on top of their game 110%. They make you feel like royalty. Though Disney tends to be a little more $$ than other cruise lines and during the days on the main deck there are a fair amount of kids....BUT the ships do have adult only areas and pools where kids are not allowed and they have plenty of adult clubs and lounges as well. Disney also stops on their private island which is really nice...and again has an adults ONLY beach that is secluded away from the family/kids beaches.

  5. we hired a private cab driver to tour us around for the day. I cant recall her name off the top of my head but the rate was very reasonable..we found her at the taxi stand just outside the terminal.

  6. considering discover scuba you will only dive to about 20-30' and you will spend more time learning then you will actually diving...id say go for the snorkel. Will the diving be more fun...yeah I think so. BUT is it worth the hassle to see pretty much the same thing, probably not.

  7. that is correct Mommy. You need to be Platinum and sail on that ship to get that ships pin from Carnival. Of coarse even being Platinum doesnt guarantee you will get a pin. On our last cruise they only gave us one for the cabin...instead of one for each my wife and I. And the cruise before that...we didnt get any.
