  1. ... a Premium Aurea suite can cost more than a YCI as well...
  2. Not sure the Butlers would agree, they were mostly unhappy last time their titles changed as they regarded the 'Butler' title as a distinction they had worked hard to achieve.
  3. Indeed, regardless of what time you are able to stay onboard, you will still need to vacate the cabin early in the morning.
  4. There was one line we used to sail on some years ago where the 'upgrade fairy' would just magically change your cabin on boarding day, I think in about 5 cruises we only sailed in the cabin we booked once...
  5. They will often solicit for bids on a range of cabin grades regardless of actual availability, in some cases when the chains are processed there will be no availability for the type they bid on so nobody wins. The bids all have a minimum level set so you can't just bid a token amount. They can then process the bids to see chains that generate the highest revenue. So for example if nobody has bid on your YC inside cabin, then someone with a lower bid than you, but currently in a more popular cabin type could get the YC Delux as the total revenue from that move is higher.
  6. It isn't quite that simple... They are looking to maximise the revenue from the entire chain of upgrades so it also matters what cabin type you have and if people are also bidding for that...
  7. ... and the World Class Bar... Agree with everything else though, the bartenders are usually very good at getting you what you want within the package you have if it is possible.
  8. I completely agree, it is always going to be undesirable to get moved from a cabin you've selected, especially with no notice. Celebrity have previously not been a major offender with this sort of behavior, but this year seems to have been very different for a lot of people.
  9. Celebrity has the same language in their contract, it really is quite normal to include these provisions in cruise contracts. In the past few months Celebrity has unilaterally cancelled cruises, moved ships planned to be in one location to a different one, double-booked hundreds of cabins and had to cancel cruises and move people to the following year... This stuff happens on pretty much every line. In the grand scheme of things, having one cabin moved to a different sub-category is not actually a huge event. Annoying for sure, but not the end of the world...
  10. I have a mental image of Ethel Merman with that description... 🙂 Glad the elevators are performing better this trip for you.
  11. You can contact the shoreside concierge as you are in the Penthouse, and they may be able to help you with this, but it really is a small thing to sort out once onboard... (... and I would always check that anything prearranged had been communicated to the ship once onboard anyway...)
  12. Then all you need to do is go visit the Maître d' at the MDR when you get onboard and they will sort things out for you, no need to do anything in advance. If you can agree on a set time it will greatly help them in making sure your table is available each night. As a courtesy, please do go see the Maître d' at Luminae and explain what you are doing, or they will be worried when they don't see you at dinner, and it avoids them trying to find out why...
  13. I assume you are trying to booking speciality dining? What level is the suite? If it is high enough then there may be an easier route... Which ship and which restaurants are you trying to book?
  14. So he is due a small credit. Yes it is annoying, but compared to some of the recent problems Celebrity have caused with overbooking, it is thankfully a relatively minor issue.
  15. You are allowed to bring your own, but I have seen other reports of problems using the Dyson due to power requirements.
  16. We should keep in mind that this has only been reported on two ships sailing out of the US at the moment, so we have no idea if this is a trial or something that has been rolled out fleet-wide. Also I don't think we've seen a report from anyone who has actually been charged the new fee yet either, so no idea if there is some latitude in the way the rule is being enforced to distinguish between replacement for a disliked entrée vs 'bring me one of everything' ...
  17. This and worse has happened to large numbers of Celebrity guests on the double and triple booked Japan cruises as a result of lift & shift errors from the Covid cancellations. No way to be sure if this is another one of those or just an unrelated error, but it does seems there are flaws in the internal processes that can result in two bookings being assigned to one cabin, in which case they will move or cancel the later booking it seems. Certainly should be a refund due if this is a downgrade, what class was the original cabin, and the one they were moved into...
  18. I would say it is, the sequence of cruises before this one are impossible as they cannot connect... Looks like they cut&pasted some of the earlier itineraries into the wrong dates.
  19. There is sensitivity on these groups about promoting other sites with similar cruise information so it is better not to name the source when it is considered to be a competitor. Similarly directly copying content from such sites can be a problem as well. Hopefully this thread will survive as it is only a mention not copy of content from that place...
  20. If you've been there before, you already know the menu, it hasn't changed...
  21. 100% correct. iPhones can't share WiFi as they lack the additional hardware required for that.
  22. Which would mean as I suggested, they were probably just unpacking the existing AI elements as they often have to do on regular reservations, rather than adding anything to the booking...
  23. ... and the buffet is still there as well for further calories if required... We tend to agree, there is more than enough without having to order multiple entrées, yet from observation it is not an uncommon practice it seems.
  24. Unusual for Celebrity to alter a TA booking, especially to add elements that have a cost to the TA without their approval... Hopefully they were just unpacking the inclusions from the bundle that was already there rather than actually adding them...
  25. Will be interested to hear feedback from those using the MDR as I would imagine that practice will have to stop...
