  1. I'm not surprised. I'm never a fan of extended stays off the ship, as being on the ship is why we book a cruise in the first place. We did greatly enjoy our Mekong river cruise which was with Viking. The local people in Cambodia were extremely friendly and helpful.
  2. We cruised from Hong Kong to Singapore via Vietnam and Thailand on Millennium. We loved Millennium in the Retreat, as she had been recently 'Revolutionized' when we sailed, not so sure it would be as good on 'M' class if not in the retreat due to limited speciality dining (only Tuscan and 'Sushi on 5') and loss of the forward upper deck to the Retreat sun deck. The destinations were great, but you do need to be flexible when it comes to Thailand as the current King can be somewhat capricious when it comes to closing down tourist access to temples and palaces at short or no notice... The tour guides keep a positive attitude but there literally do not know where they will be able to access until they get there on some days... We had done a Vietnam and Cambodia land/Mekong river cruise a couple of years before so we did not try to get to the more remote locations in Cambodia from the ship, just be aware that getting to Siem Reip is both expensive and time consuming if done as a ship tour.
  3. Yes you do, we did this last month and we got the current MSC web promotion as well as the onboard promotion. We actually had no idea that there even was a web promotion at the time so the additional £780 OBC was a pleasant surprise. Given you can't use it for anything before you board I have a feeling this will end up in my wife's handbag/jewellery budget 🙂
  4. Good to hear Gen Z is having a great time, for the future, the languages used seem to be itinerary dependent. Divina in Europe was making announcements in 5 languages, but I imagine that on those short 4 day cruises to Ocean Cay, English may be the only language needed...
  5. As far as I know, the only place that gets genuine freshly squeezed juice is Luminae, where one of the junior kitchen staff is tasked with squeezing the oranges by hand each morning. Everything else is, at best, from a frozen product. The equipment they used to have for preparing fresh juice was removed some time ago due to the time it takes to keep it properly cleaned and up to health codes.
  6. Celebrity do have a habit of describing the frozen OJ they serve as 'fresh' on the basis it was fresh when it was frozen...
  7. ... and in my case it is entirely a result of Charla's previous live thread that we ended up on Divina last month... ... and now have another Divina reservation for next Feb.
  8. That it is limited to offers advertised by MSC Cruises... Nothing else.
  9. That makes total sense, we spent a fair amount of time in the non-YC areas of Divina and even when it was busy there was always somewhere with empty seating, and plenty of variety in the live entertainment, so no shortage of choices...
  10. Unfortunately not, so I'm not much help with any comparisons.
  11. That sounds like our next cruise on Divina in February next year, it is a great itinerary for sure. Having sailed on Divina last month we had no hesitation in making another reservation while we were onboard.
  12. Ask again once you are onboard...
  13. When it comes to the payment screen, there is an option there to say how much OBC you wish to use for the payment...
  14. In January on Eclipse we were told that Murano were no longer doing a lunch... We would be happy to hear if that had changed since then...
  15. It is detailed at the foot of the Celebrity dining packages page...
  16. I do love that about MSC... while talking to the Yacht Club Director we learned that our assistant had been recently promoted from the cabin service team elsewhere on the ship. He really was 150% enthusiastic, and we were happy to pass on to the director that he was doing a fantastic job as of course was our butler.
  17. We were making notes to see if there was anything we missed to make sure we tried it next time. Only thing we didn't see was the formal afternoon tea service with cake stand etc. but not sure if that still happens? We will make more use of room service next time as we only used it once for a pizza delivery (... which was excellent! )
  18. Then yes, it should stack, we were specifically told by the onboard cruise person that it would stack with our OBC from the current web offer at the time... She did say that it doesn't appear on the booking straight away though, not sure if this is one that doesn't appear before final payment for example?
  19. It has already been proven that they have not been updating the date when making changes as the bottle of wine per person change went in a few weeks ago with no date change...
  20. The OBC requires you to book more than 9 months in advance. The 5% further discount only requires 6 months in advance
  21. I think we benefitted from the much smaller Yacht Club on Divina, but it sounds like you've had great service in Yacht Club in general, so perhaps next time it is worth talking to your butler over things like the 'treats', just let them know what you would appreciate, or just let them know you don't want anything at all.
  22. ... on our cruise last month it felt like we had two butlers as his assistant was not only taking care of our suite and producing those wonderful towel animals, but he was also volunteering to assist with anything and everything the butler does as well, so he was definitely keeping our butler on his toes 🙂 Just the right level of service though, with the little treats left in the suite in the evening and one or other of them always seeming to be around at all times.
  23. Diamond on RC will not get you Diamond on MSC...
  24. Emerald/Diamond/Diamond Plus all match to MSC Gold, so no point in waiting...
