  1. Second day of cruise and we are at Sea. Our cabin Stewart brought us a bowl of fruit even though we did not request it and he’s bringing a cheese plate this afternoon. Just had lunch in Luminae. The service was outstanding, and the food was very good. my friend and I had a salad with chicken and a green goddess dressing. My husband had a Luminae burger which was outstanding. My husband’s friend had the shrimp Poboy. For dessert we had white chocolate mousse with strawberries and balsamic vinegar glaze. It is one of the most outstanding desserts we have ever had . Very satisfied. My husband is exploring the ship and I am going to nap. We are going to the porch for dinner. Should be interesting since my husband is allergic to seafood.
  2. For some reason my pictures are not showing up. We finally sailed around 530 They had a special where you can eat and eat, especially restaurants for half off. We chose our favorite, Tuscan Grill, that cost $30 each. For dinner, I had an appetizer of meatballs, half an order of carbonara, a filet mignon, that was perfectly cooked, and a pistachio crème brûlée for dessert. My husband had the arugula and goat cheese, salad and chicken Parmesan for dinner, and a lemon cello cheesecake. Our friend Liz, had a crabcake, arugula and goat cheese salad, lobster, rigatoni for dinner, and the lemon cello cheesecake for dessert. Her husband, Warren, had pork belly, filet mignon, garlic, mashed potatoes, and some kind of chocolate dessert. We all enjoyed our meal very much and the service was over-the-top as usual. My husband and I were tired so we went for a room and went to sleep. My husband is in the shower and then we are going to Café Bachio for coffee followed bu breakfast in Luminae. Then we are going to explore the ship. I am going to the solarium pool. Loving the suite life.
  3. Embarkation very smooth Had our own entrance Retreat lounge very nice with drinks and snacks they check you in individually. We went to the Retreat Lounge where we were able to make all of our dining reservations. We went to Luminae and had lunch. The food was outstanding. I had prawn ceviche and a lobster roll along with apple crumble. My husband had steak with béarnaise sauce and potatoes and it’s some kind of chocolate dessert. Very impressed so far. Our room is wonderful. Our cabin attendant stopped by and it’s going to get me a dozen more hangers.

  7. Vacation is finally here. Left our home around 930 and went to one of our favorite breakfast spots, Skillets. Drove three and a half hours to Fort Lauderdale. Checked into Marriott Courtyard Airport and Cruise Port. Nice hotel close to the airport and Cruise terminal. The have a shuttle that costs $40 round trip and they charge $10 a day to park. We have friends joining us who’s flight keeps getting delayed. Cannot wait for sail away on Monday.
  8. Looks good we are sailing in 5 days look forward to eating there
  9. One week from today, we leave for Ft Lauderdale. I am all packed. This afternoon, I will help my husband pack. It is hard to believe that we booked so long ago. my brother in law is watching our cats whilst we are gone.
  10. I know that it is a month, I am going to start this review early and update during my cruise and after. Today, is our 38th wedding anniversary. My husband only knew me five days before he asked me to marry him, surprisingly, I said yes. This cruise is to celebrate our mutual retirement. My husband retired almost 2 years ago and it will be a year for me coming up on Halloween. We moved from New Hampshire six years ago. We live on the west coast of Florida. I have three types of arthritis and could not stand being in the cold anymore. We took our first cruise on the celebrity millennium back 12 years ago. It is on the cruise where we renewed our vows after being married for 25 years. That cruise got us very spoiled. It will be our ninth cruise coming up and we have many more that we plan on doing in our lifetime. My husband was an IT specialist For a well-known company and I was a registered nurse. Looking forward to our cruise. Actually, we leave in 25 days for Fort Lauderdale. We are staying in Fort Lauderdale for two days prior to our cruise. Exciting Lee, friends from New Hampshire, are joining us on this cruise . My wonderful husband surprised me and booked a Sky Suite for this cruise. Probably our first and only time in a suite since we are both retired and live on a Social Security budget. Will continue my review in 25 days.
  11. Do not have to book shows they have self serve ice cream
  12. Looked at Virgin but found that they are too $$$
  13. My husband overpacks I streamline 14 day cruise 10 dresses 1 pair of slacks 1 pair of capris 4 blouses 1 pair of sandals underwear toiletries swimsuit hat wrap
  14. My husband and I are frequently Celebrity cruisers. Celebrity is getting expensive. We are looking at a March 2025 14 day leaving out of Tampa. The price is great. Thoughts? Any opinions on an ocean view cabin? What is included as far as drinks and specialty dining? Thanks.
  15. Love the Freedom. Took a 5 day to celebrate our 37th anniversary. Went on the Mardi Gras n April but liked the Freedom more.
  16. Our first cruise was on the Millennium 12 years ago where we renewed our wedding vows after 25 years. Celebrity is our favorite line. To celebrate our mutual retirements, my husband surprised me by booking a Sky Suite on the Silhouette in November, a 10 day Southern Caribbean. Since we both live on only social security, this was quite the stretch for us. With all of the negative comments lately, I am concerned. I would not use a butler to unpack, I was looking forward to other things. Such as, emptying ur mini refrigerator and filling it with sodas and water. Filling an ice bucket. Small requests. There are so many saying they will never sail again on Celebrity. We paid a good chunk of change for this cruise. Probably first and last time in a suite. Please reassure me that everything is going to be fine.
  17. We like to pay prior to cruising, then we do not to have to think about it.
