How About "Friends of Nana"?
-
I think it is "Dorothy" as in "Wizard of OZ", apparently a gay icon!
I remember a post on Cruise Critic when a poster said his mother's name was Dorothy and she went to the meeting and had a great time! (No one hit on her!)
-
Many moons ago on QE 2 we kept seeing "Friends of Bill" on the daily program
and felt left out - we never were invited.
MUCH LATER I figured out that "Bill" was Bill Wilson!
-
Opera House in Manaus rivals Vienna's Opera house! That was worth the trip, along with the villages and the parting of the waters and the pink dolphins!
-
I'm wary of excursions that state "free time"! Often that translates to a shopping stop.
Buyer Beware!
-
DO NOT EAT the Hemlock!
-
Many of us dislike the misleading and odious marketing gimmick! But it is what it is! BUT we still like Regent.
-
"Mickey Mouse" reviews - don't take them seriously! It's a whole different cruising world!
-
Last cruise I had $1600 onboard credit - use it or lose it! I bought all my grandchildren watches for Xmas and still had some left despite sending out laundry. I was in an "E"
Upcoming cruise I have a measly $200

Had yellow fever shot prior to safari in Kenya many moons ago. No aftereffect. Had malaria pills but didn't use them because guide and two MDs on safari did NOT use them so we didn't. (Also on Amazon recently on Regent but missed Devil's Islands - disappointed!)
And lived to tell the story!
BUT CHECK with your MD

I REMEMBER when past cruisers got a 10 percent discount for next cruise! While researching a cruise to Antarctica it came down to Radisson, now Regent, or National Geography Lindblad ship.
What swayed us to Radisson was the discount and the wonderful blogs Petlover (Marcie) wrote on her world cruise.
Of course when we booked a Radisson cruise the discount had disappeared!
Despite that we've been happy on Regent since.

I like Tivoli at evening - but last time we were there with family had to go during day because of tides. Still wonderful.

So SAD to learn the BAD news. I was so saddened when I heard Tom had that TERRIBLE cancer . Tom and Barbara had to cancel a recent cruise I was on and so wanted to see Tom and Barbara.
In retrospect, I'm quite sure we met Tom and Barbara on a Regent ship a few years ago. My wife was having problems and I asked Tom and Barbara how they were doing with the wheelchair. We had a very beneficial conversation.
Sincere condolences to Barbara and family.

I "think" if you have a discounted fare for a child - or third person in your suite - is not paying the full fare doesn't get "included" excursions. Also it might not include air fare for third passenger.
I Hope this is clearer than mud!

While on cruise I can have a "vacation" from the internet - it is very relaxing. I love to be at sea and at the ports - that's what cruising is!
ALSO, the internet is a slave to the satellite - the ship can't always be in the correct position.
Relax and enjoy the cruise!

The extra days alone are VERY nice.
Mariner Penthouse A is 376 sq ft not including a 73 sq ft balcony. Voyager A penthouse is 320 sq ft and balcony 50 sq ft! Navigator A is 356 sq ft plus 55 sq ft balcony
ALL suites should be VERY comfortable and come with perks from concierge-level amenities.
I think you will be happy in any acommodations
Congratulations!
Have a wonderful cruise.

Remember: Many cruise directors always claim you board as passengers and leave as cargo! (muttering in German)

Kathy, have your TA check what airlines Regent are using and work with the TA to get best routing.
Regent obviously uses most economical airlines depending on fares for areas of the world they sail to and from. Regent often uses Star Alliance - depends on contracts Regent has at any time.
Many of us look for best routing and deviate when it makes sense for our convenience.
-
Have your TA try to get you the same cabin for the B to B! BUT, if TA strikes out Regent staff will help with help with the move, they're used to it.
There is a certain euphoria that will come over you as you watch others disembarking while you're staying on the ship for another cruise!
Have a wonderful journey!

Mr. Rumor, thank you so much for your valuable reports.
The jazz event for upper grades "sounds" like BEST EVER event in my experience.
Roatan is a problem - missed that port one year because of wind and waves.
-
Thank you for sharing the letter for us - we want to know the good, the bad and the ugly.
Rio is a great city but the Sheraton has been a SORE SPOT!
Please take a few minutes to read the Fodors review down from your post to get another look at Regent.

Over many years NO ONE got sick on any of my sailboats - not seasick nor food illness!
I had an RN on board just in case - she also was the cook. (all inclusive.)
(Never failed an inspection - possibly because there were NO inspections.)
-
Probably Cuban or possibly Haitian!
So glad they were rescued and I am sure they had very good care on Mariner. However, it's likely they could be sent back to their home land.
-
Glad you had a wonderful cruise !
BUT could you drink the water?
( Who drinks much water on a Regent cruise?)
Another question about deviation

Regent makes money on business class upgrade - ergo no problem!
