It occurred to me that the very unhappy Regent critic could possibly have an easy excuse to never sail Regent again even if his wife or partner want Regent!

Each time I've seen Dead Sea over the years it's getting smaller and smaller.
From the news now I agree Israel will probably be skipped.

In specialty restaurants you need reservations .
In main dining room , Compass Rose, no reservations needed. At the door you tell how many people in your party and if you want to set alone or share a table.
Many passengers share a table to meet fellow passengers.

Last year when I had $1600 SBC I bought Citizen watches for my grandchildren and used some for laundry.
Others use it for spa treatments. I didn't do that because I'm beyond treatments!

Beautiful wood work in the cabins!

Voyager standard suites are about 50 sq. feet larger than standard Mariner suites - that extra space is very welcomed- larger head (nautical term for toilet) and walk-in closet - even the safe is larger!
I prefer Voyager but I always try to be low and amidships - less movement,

ATM linked to your bank or credit card Is the way to go!
WHY pay more when you can get cash free!?

I don't expect "coffou" on my next Regent cruise or any Regent cruise and I'm GLAD!
HE has every right to express his experience - I'm sure he can find a line that will suit him but I hope it isn't Regent!

It was Leningrad when we first visited and it was Soviet Union. Top floor of Hermitage has wonderful Impressionists including my favorite Monet, "The lady in White," I recall it was titled.
There were a lot of black cars with men in white shirts who seemed to be watching visitors closely!

Too bad about the Dali trip, The Dali museum in Figueres is a real hoot! Glad you had such a good substitute and nice weather. Barcelona is such a fun city. Thanks for the reports, Rachel.

Dali museum is a WINNER - there's always another time!

Sarah, take some deep breaths and luxuriate on Mariner where you will be pampered and there will be no more headaches!
Have a WONDERFUL and STRESSLESS CRUISE with Gramps!
BON VOYAGE!

Yes, umbrellas are available in your suite or possibly at gangplank. I always bring a rain jacket - then both hands are free - PLUS I'm waterproof and you are too!

Travelers Checks have almost gone like hoop skirts.
You can get $400 cash on your account or credit card with NO fee at Reception UNLESS they have changed that policy which was handy for tips for tour guides and drivers etc. off the ship.
All tips on board are INCLUDED !
I do not know about traveler checks

A purser on HAL told me the Park West guy made more a week than the Captain!
It doesn't bother me because it is revenue for Regent and hopefully that just might lower our fares a bit.
Every dollar helps!
Buyer Beware!

I'm on that cruise and NO line will put their ships or passengers in any danger. It is several months away but Regent could make itinerary changes. We all have to be flexible!
I'm going to pay my fare by June 24 - I need a BIG break!
Let's hope for the best!
There's a roll call on that forum - check it out.

I LIKE comparisons - I can always learn something - they are very helpful for all!

I checked Viking cruises out but I think I'll stick with Regent IF they are affordable.

A water=proof camera, like an underwater camera - might solve the problem and you can use it snorkeling TOO!

Often a lower price does NOT include air, taxes and fees so it really is not lower! Read the small print!

We rounded the Horn with mild seas around S. America on HAL. And later calm seas to and from Antarctica from Ushuaia on Regent. As usual we secure a cabin amidships and low - where least motion is on most if not all ships. But there are NO guarantees!
WE sailed around Lake Ontario in small to medium sailing craft for many years and sometimes had some rough water but checked the weather and conditions before we set sail.
-
We went to Antarctica BEFORE we went with family to Alaska - they all loved Alaska but it was anticlamactic for us.
SO enjoy Alaska FIRST then go to Antarctica.
Appropriate attire for ladies.

Everyone on Cruise Critic was a newbie at one time - some are more helpful
than others! That's life!
Happy Anniversary! And 50 MORE!
