  1. Really happy with the 2lb weight loss this week.  I see others of you doing your weights in tenths of pounds and am wondering if I should start.  I usually just round up no matter if it is 1/10th of a pound.

JennyB1977 sorry no weight loss, but staying the same is great.

CarolinaGirl2010 2lb is a great way to start.  Good luck on the 21 day fix.  Let us know how it goes.

retiring soon you'll get it this next week.  Keep at it.

RobinCruiser one pound is good for a week where you aren't exercise like you planned.  Think it's great you are able to look back and see what you've done / weighed in the past.  Bet it helps.

Jan_In_Maine staying the same is so much better than gaining.

JessandLevi I know most of us here understand how disheartening a plateau can be.  That's some pretty hefty goals you have there.  I'm wishing you nothing but the best of luck.

Would still love to be under 200lb by Sept 29th cruise, but with trip to my brothers a few weeks ago, I don't think I'll make it.  Going to give it my best, but even if I loose 2lb each and every week (which we all know is hard) I'll fall 14lb short.  Why oh why did I go to my brother's.  Oh yea, to enjoy myself.

We always tip the bartenders, and if I happen to use the "public restroom" (which I try to avoid but once or twice it usually happens on a cruise) if there is a crew member in there cleaning I tip her, they are the behind the scenes crew that rarely get recognition.

Never thought of tipping them.  Can't say I've seen them much.

I tip waiters.  Usually it takes a bit to realize that this water drinker, sitting at the cheap blackjack table, does tip. Am awaiting 1st cruise with beverage package this September.

I never see anyone tipping the porters anymore.  Has that gone away?

It's just marketing what's working for them.   Are you really counting the days?   🙂

I was just going through old posts I started and saw this one.  So I counted up from there.  Although it is amazing to me that I only booked 47 days ago.  Seems longer than that, but only 49 days to go.

  4.

Our experience with the Free / Reduced Air so far is great.  We only had to pay $199 for the 3 of us (1st two were free and 3rd person was $199).  That is about a $800-$1000 savings.  We just got our flights and although not exactly what I would have booked, they are good.  Found out flights about 55 days out and was able to move our seats together.

Here's hoping nothing changes and everything continues to go our way.

I live in a small midwestern city not known for its food.  There is no item of food served by NCL that I can't find better within a mile or two of my home (escargot might be the exception--have not seen it on a menu here).  That said, I cruise for the  pleasant overall experience rather than the fine dining.  I find more than enough acceptable and satisfying food choices to keep me full.

I'm from southern WV.  We have a decent steak house.  No good seafood - so we will go to Ocean Blue.  Absolutely nothing like Le Bistro so we will go there.  I'd like to go to Moderno because absolutely nothing like that around, but I've read so many people saying the only thing they really enjoyed was the salad bar and I don't want to spend that much (we have had to pay for 3rd person in room) for a meal where best part is salad (or use one of meal plan perk meals).  Might go to Ocean Blue twice, but will keep away from Fisherman's Platter if we are hungry.

    From reading your other posts...

Don't stress about what your brother will do. Just go and enjoy the cruise.  If he does something stupid, it's his fault.  He made his bed let him lie in it.  You should be enjoying your precruise planning, not stressing out if your brother will miss the ship.  Plan on being back an hour before and you don't have to worry about what is or isn't in the safe.  You made a joke about your brother, but I think your joke is more indicative of what kind of person you think your brother is...  It not your job to take care of your brother, if he missed the ship, he is an adult he will figure it out. You can't control what others do, so don't try to.

I recommend you do fun research instead of worst case scenario research.

    Happy planning!

I think my brother is a wonderful person who has a zest for life that I wish I did.  If something happened to him while on the cruise you had better believe that I would stay with him.  That's just the type of person I am.

I can't help worrying.  I'm 99% sure he wouldn't do something stupid, but that 1%...........  He isn't worrying about it; thus I wish I was more like him.

  7. I think you made the right decision.  I've been having neurological issues for about 1 1/2 years now and if you are like me I think it's hard to move on to the new normal.  I have to have the shower chair and use the cane.  Hoping I won't need a scooter for a long time (or ever).  But I do know once you accept you need something, come to terms with it, life gets better.

  8. It's been my experience that flights mostly go up in price so I would go ahead and book flights.

You might want to check with some of the surrounding airports.  When will you be going?  Check out JetBlue prices (saw prices in $200s in Sept). You could also take flight to orlando (can be cheap from CLT) and then jump on Allegiant Air (prices in $100s  in Sept when I just looked).  Guess it would all depend on whether you are game to fly budget airlines.  If so, don't just do a Google/Expedia type search.

    Good luck

Unless you go behind the scenes or have an eagle eye for detail, you will never notice anything different.  I was on the BA right after the "failed" inspection and did not see one thing which would have concerned me.  I seen more violations in my local favorite restaurant than I seen on any cruise ship.

Yea, I'm sure you ate right. I was just kinda joking really.

We do NOT like Moderno. Meat is salty, undercooked, or overcooked. We usually do Le Bistro twice. We also like the Mexican restaurant. I don't like spicy food. and its not spicy to me.

It really stinks about the meat in Moderno.  I think my Mom and Brother would get a kick out of a Brazilian restaurant.  I went to one once that was excellent.

Mom does not want to go to Mexican restaurant and me and my Brother plan to get off ship in Mexico and have a more authentic Mexican meal.  But thanks
