There were waterfalls everywhere, and a lot of dry waterfalls also. Our pilot said that it hasn’t rained much in the last 3 weeks so some are currently dried up. It must be amazing after a heavy rain.

Wow. Just got back from our helicopter tour. Wow…just…wow. I need to arrange the way too many photos and videos that we took, but here’s a few quick pics.

The hotel is just stunning. Open, airy feel with breezes blowing through the hotel. Water and lush vegetation everywhere. Here’s the breakfast buffet area. A little different from Windjammer. 🤣 How is your cruise going so far?

Thanks Mark. No Kodachrome for me, but I’m again wishing that I’d brought my full DSLR kit. I guess it’s better if I’m actually watching the real world instead of my viewfinder.

I think there are two styles, an up flow and a horizontal flow. Depends where in the world you go…pun intended.

I had a similar thought about the bathroom phone in our Ovation GS. It was mounted on the wall in a corner, not near the toilet or either sink? Why? Even if it rang and scared the crap out of you, there’s no way you could answer it. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Thanks for another great review. I’m looking forward to reading about your holiday experience onboard.

I’m not dead yet! Still 4 glorious days (and 4 sunsets) on Kauai left. We’re doing a helicopter tour today and a Na Pali Coast sunset boat tour tomorrow. Great sunset a couple of nights ago in Kaanapali. Have I mentioned sunsets? 😁

Good morning from beautiful Kauai. Another day in paradise. Today is helicopter day. This is one of the things that I’ve most looked forward to this entire trip. We have a 1 hour flight at 1:40. We chose a small helicopter where we can fly without doors for completely unimpeded views (and photographs). Micheline has not made her final decision about whether to fly with or without doors on her side. She can make that decision at the last minute. No decision at all for me…nothing between me and Waimea Canyon or the Na Pali coast. Our flight from Honolulu to Lihue airport on Kauai was quick and easy. Also easy to pick up our rental car, although the cars all have some miles on them and show it. No big deal. We stopped at Duke’s for lunch before headed to the hotel. Very good. I just love the open building design for many places in Hawaii. Covered but with a full view and a nice breeze. No Hula pie yet…we’ll probably be back there for dinner We continued on to our hotel, the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa. Beautiful property. I’ll have many more pics of the hotel grounds later, but here’s the view from our balcony. I can live with this.

Sorry for the late reply but I kept forgetting to post. I asked Carlington about how full they would be for your cruises. He does not get that info until a couple weeks before each cruise, so he couldn’t provide an answer. Sorry.

I didn’t hear about any cases, but not sure that I would have. I didn’t hear about cases when we were on Quantum either though.

My advice…press the X in the upper right corner of Andrew’s picture. Press it really hard and over and over again just to be safe. Unless of course you prefer to take the @Yorkvillain route and make it your wallpaper. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

VERY easy disembarkation process. One of the easiest that I’ve ever had. Carlington, the Suite Concierge, met us in Wonderland for a suite walkoff. Left the restaurant at 8:10. Walked straight down to the luggage area where we quickly found our bags. No customs since we cleared customs in Vancouver and didn’t visit any foreign countries. Walked to the taxi line and straight onto a taxi. Quick drive to the airport. We’re flying first class on Hawaiian so while the check in area was very busy, no wait in the first class line. TSA pre check line was also empty. We were sitting at our gate at 8:40. Thirty minutes total from Wonderland to gate.

Weird starting at 7:00. I’ve not been able to watch on TV but have been following updates on my phone. Thought maybe it was a mistake when it said that Josh threw a 98 yard TD on the first drive🤣🤣. Currently up 31-3 with Josh throwing about 350 yards and 4 TDs in the first half alone. I’m comfortable not being able to see this game, they seem to be able to win without me. Although it would be fun to watch (unless you’re a Steelers fan).

We are close to Popui Beach. We’ll definitely spend time there.

5 nights at the Grand Hyatt. Should be great.
