  1. I am planning on returning to NCL in November/December from NYC after a 5 year absence (I had May 2020 planned and paid for ). I am planning on a 5 day just to get away and not sure how picky I would be- (i.e cold weather, etc...) I guess I'll see.
  2. lol Cardboard discs- reminds me ordering Dominos in college and never learning not to
  3. I only wish i could be on a cruise right now where someone cut in front of line to take some pizza. Sad that dominated your vacation.
  4. After reading this I found myself ordering a pizza (online of course)
  5. To this day my Epic 2011 Cruise from Miami was my favorite- I normally go from NYC but felt more away and on vacation being on that route. I liked everything the ship stood for - totally outside of the box- Fat Cats, Blue Man Group, 2 bowling alleys, Legends In Concert, Howl at The Moon , the Hydraulic swimming pool in H20. While I realize they made changes over the years, in my opinion they had something really special there- was also the beginning of studio cabins.
  6. I heard they will be rolling out a fee for the freetsyles. $29.95 for Color, $19.95 black and white. One only $4.95.
  7. With all the cuts in service I am not prepaying mine and will have it removed. Its pure profit for the line. Unless they can show me spreadsheets with cost allocations showing how it is directly paid out to the employees I want no part of it. I am paying enough to go on a cruise. Cruising was much simpler in the 90's. You would just get on the boat, show up to eat when you were told, and didn't have a rulebook as to specialty dining limits. You simply said you wanted 3 or 4 filet minions and extra lobster and they gave it to you. When you brought your own rum to a bar, they were nice and gave you free coke and ice to water it down.
  8. I could see them charging for reserved VIP tables at Howl at the Moon and Syd Normans/ I heard they were also updating the thermostats and will charge guests for heating and air conditioning! Also they will have a silverware fee in all dining rooms. Great list!
  9. I stay at a hotel quite often, and am pleased they have returned to daily service
  10. I heard they will also be removing toasters from the buffet to save on electric costs. This is ridiclous. I will be sure to wave my DSC. I'll then have to turn down the bed myself. Will the fancy people in haven still get turn down service though? I would hate it if the fortunate ones were affected in anyway. I guess I'll hand out notes to everyone saying I have to cut down on manual tipping. I'll just say I don't travel with cash its not safe and that due to the economy I had to make cutbacks myself. Not going to be guilted into handing any extra cash out. Anyway, looking forward to my 5 day cruise in November! First one in 5 years! My cousin Dave from Dayton heard they were removing some of the more expensive ice cream flavors like pistachio and might go to vanilla chocolate only. Also, at the shareholders meeting I think they decided to cut chocolate syrup due to the increase in coca costs.
  11. An instrument is not a pacifier. Successful people with talent know that.
  12. My uncle Ray was on the same cruise and I think he got some money back - wrote to the right people I can ask him. OT- I loved the Epic it was my favorite cruise-
  13. I am sure it would TOTALLY ruin someones cruise. I mean, they would probably have to call their butler about it.
  14. I would be all for someone bringing a guitar/keyboard. When you are a successful musician, it is important to not go a week without playing, also is something really important to you. I mean, there are always people that like going on cruises just to have something to complain about, maybe its jealousy or whatever. Someone on the balcony next to me had to practice some choral arrangements, I said go for it- I understood how important music was to them.
  15. I often would ask for a time where I could use a piano and was granted one. One time a bar worker unplugged a piano I was using (it was a digital electric) and I politely called the front desk and explained I would cancel my next two cruises if it wasnt plugged in. Problem solved.
  16. OP- I am sorry you had to go through this is sounds horrible. - I am wondering how come NCL doesn't offer flights that are a few days before for people that might want to a) either come early and stay for a few days in NYC etc or b) avoid the risk of a missed flight?
  17. I agree- it was more important before having the UBP. I noticed when I drank something they got 2 more- sometimes it was a sales pitch for future cruises- but in good taste.
  18. The Hilton Times Square was my favorite, but it closed. Do you know if something opened in its place? I would take the bus up from South Jersey, and it was right near the port authority.
  19. I concur had to get one for all 3 planets and both universes I visited last weekend.
