  1. Great fotos but I am afraid it can’t be the Nieuw Statendam. She left Copenhagen on 16th July for a TA to Boston. Rosalyn
  2. Just back to topic and wanted to report that most on our roll call had got their cases and arrived safely in Copenhagen. One case is still in Munich and will not arrive before the ship sails this afternoon. One case that did not arrive has been located and they hope to collect it this morning. I rest my case! Bring your carry ons. Rosalyn
  3. Well right from the horses mouth so to speak, we had flights booked for this morning to travel from Schiphol to Copenhagen before boarding our cruise ship on Saturday. We decided to change our flights to last night, canceled flights SAS and booked new ones with KLM. We paid $$$$$$ and one ended up in economy one in business (its not but just an empty seat in the middle). Changed parking, booked an extra night in hotel, added an extra carry on and made sure if we missed our cases we would survive. We decided this way there would be more chance to arrive on time if there were cancellations/delays/strikes.! Yesterday we went to the airport and it was total mayhem queues of people everywhere, we managed to get through (via business class) and spent some time relaxing in the Aspire lounge. Going to the plane there were piles of luggage everywhere, baggage carts full. Flight was uneventful and in Copenhagen there were also piles of luggage/buggy’s everywhere, when I saw our cases on the baggage band I cheered and we were in our hotel in less than 1/2 hour. There are plenty of horror stories on our roll call of cancelled flights, and missing luggage, many were on SAS as they fly directly from US to Copenhagen. How to avoid this I really don’t know, will it get better no idea but the stress this last week was no fun and I definitely want to avoid this sort of thing in future. The foto is at Schiphol yesterday Rosalyn
  4. I suggest you follow this link to the airport. https://www.schiphol.nl/en/my-travel-day/?date=09072022 good luck Rosalyn
  5. I am so glad that you have managed to get your flights sorted. Our SAS flight on 15th July to Copenhagen is with a SAS subsidiary company and we have been assured that it will not be cancelled. Otherwise plan B is driving from the NL which leaves the problem when returning to Schiphol but hope we won’t have to go down that route. Loved following you on your travels and made us really look forward to our Copenhagen to Boston cruise next week. Rosalyn
  6. We were there in May, asked the kind volunteers at the port the best way into town and were told to take the number 11 bus, they accepts credit cards. Make sure you walk through the group selling the HOHO bus tours, the stop is on the other side of the road just left from the zebra crossing. The stop you need is Princes Street near the Scots monument, you can see the castle from there its a nice uphill. Have a nice day the Royal Mile is amazing. Happy planning Rosalyn
