  1. The Shuttle works fine. Very convenient. Runs frequently. He took off with just us in it on Regent last summer.
  2. I just booked a concierge cabin for a Caribbean cruise for the bigger balcony. We enjoy spending time out there. Maybe have a drink while gazing at the sea.
  3. My guess is that she will help open Grandeur. She is probably on vacation. We last saw her in the spring on Splendor.
  4. Sounds like a lovely cruise. It is wonderful that you are experiencing it with your grandson. We loved doing that. Continue to enjoy!
  5. Thanks again to everyone for all your help. I will make the chief housekeeper my new best buddy.
  6. CWN, you nailed it. I worry way too much! Poor emotional skills. I shall follow your complete instructions to the letter. I am officially prepared. Thanks one and all. You would think this is my first Regent cruise. We became Titanium on our last cruise but I still need Cruise Critic by my side!
  7. I was hoping for a vacation from staying on top of things but if I want it to go smoothly that is what I better do. It sounds like you had things ready to go. I will do the same. I really appreciate the extra advice. I still am a little unclear about the drawers outside the closet. Do we need to empty those?
  8. Did you have to do anything ahead to have the team of three guys show up? That sounds perfect. Did you know what time they were going to appear? I agree that Regent could be a little more reassuring about this situation.. Thanks for the help.
  9. That is good to know they will provide bags. I was thinking I would need to pack something.
  10. Hi Jim We also would like to be able to get off ship early and do something. As I remember the port area from previous stops there isn’t much immediately there. Sayhello to Mary. I still remember our Prime 7 dinner on your first Regent cruise.
  11. Thanks again. I think I have the full picture. I will plan on dumping the extra stuff into our carry on suitcase. You all have been a bid help. I do wish Regent had more to offer than all seven day cruises to Alaska this year. However, we wouldn’t want to miss making the trip on Regent. They have us spoiled for anything else
  12. Many thanks to my Cruise Critic family for walking me through the process. We now know what happens and feel relaxed about the move. Being me, I have yet one more question. It was mentioned that they move everything in the closet drawers. Does that mean we should pack what is in all the wonderful drawers outside the closet?
  13. Chat Kat, thank you so much for that information. I wondered how it worked and I didn’t want to start stressing about about it which is my style.
  14. We are on a back to back cruise in July and couldn’t get the same cabin for second leg. Our TA is not being especially helpful with this. We were hoping to do an excursion on turnaround day. Can anyone tell me their experience with this as we don’t want to have to pack everything in order to make the move.
  15. That tops customer service. Good for you Anchorbouy
  16. I would suggest picking up the phone and calling Regent customer service. They are very helpful especially if you hit the selection for questions about booking a cruise. No obligation in doing that.
  17. Thanks. It has been awhile since we have been on the Voyager.
  18. I watched the video and like others I was left with many questions. I kept trying to figure out where on the ship this was happening and was it really Regent. It wasn’t obvious but I did recognize the carpet. There does appear to be a very tight lid on information or comment from other passengers onboard.
  19. Thank you for all of your posts. I appreciated every single one and the effort it took to produce them. I certainly hope to find you on a bar stool on one of our cruises.
  20. We are doing Alaska in late July. It is our fifth trip there. I plan to take one dressier outfit and the rest more causal. Dressy sweater tops pack easy and work well. I dress them up or down for variety.. You will see a little bit of everything. For the daytime jeans and long sleeve t shirts work well because the excursions can be a little wet and muddy. We love the wild life excursions. I bring a waterproof jacket and a hat. We like to be outside during the boat excursions . Enjoy your cruise. We love anywhere with Regent. Any other questions ask away.
  21. Thanks 2012 Alaska. and RC,DKC. I don’t know where my head was with the Juneau instead of Anchorage. No wonder I couldn’t find flights. The 14 day you are on next year sounds ideal but we are wanting to do something this year. It also probably has less children onboard. I don’t know why Regent choose to only do 7 days this year. Seabourn has 14 days but we prefer Regent. We did the flight back from anchorage once and that was enough. I think we will just do the back to back with duplicate ports and loads of kids.
  22. Thank you for your replies. They are greatly appreciated. We weren’t worried about about embarking or dis embarking in foreign ports. We were more concerned with easy flights. Vancouver is non stop. It turns out Juneau is only one change of planes in Seattle. Our concern was the repeating of ports which papa Flamingo addressed. We are looking to go this summer otherwise the 14 day in 2024 would be perfect. At this stage of life we try not to delay anything worthwhile. I think we will do it using your advice.
  23. We need some help. We are thinking about doing a back to back cruise in Alaska. Vancouver is not a long flight and air travel is wearing thin Part of our reasoning is to avoid the Juneau flight home. The second is a seven day cruise feels very short for us. The third is we enjoy being on Regent. The ports are almost identical. Has anyone done an Alaskan back to back? Did it feel too repetitious? Did it feel too long with no sitting out on deck and the same ports? We have been to Alaska several times while taking grandchildren so it is not new to us, we appreciate any input.
  24. Thank you for providing this to me. Helpful knowing she is currently on Explorer. This medical claim business is definitely a stressor.
  25. For some reason this address isn’t working for me. I will try calling Regent tomorrow. It is too late today.
