  1. I also check pricing on a fairly regular basis. Yesterday, pricing for 4 of our 5 future cruises (MA mini-suite with Princess Plus) were anywhere from $500 to $3000 more than when we initially booked in the spring. But our cruise from Los Angeles to Auckland in 2023 dropped by $3000 and gave us another $200 OBC. I rebooked at the lower price at noon, and at 4 it had dropped another $200. This morning, it is back up $200. Advice - take the lowest price you can get as long as you are getting the same amenities, location, OBC, etc. Then continue to check pricing prior to the cruise.
  2. Looking forward to your impressions once you board and sail. Pricing isn't an issue regarding your review as far as I am concerned - each person can make that determination for themselves based on what their preferences and wants are. I am more interested in the boarding experience, food, entertainment, clientele, atmosphere, and public spaces. Enjoy and hopefully report back.
  3. Friends just did it and it was a very nice but quick renewal. Afterwards though, a ship's photographer spent an hour taking them all over the ship for photos. At no time was pricing discussed. Later they found that the price for photos was ridiculous!!!!! Ask questions first or be prepared to have your time wasted.
  4. Mario let us know a couple of months ago that he is retiring after this contract.
  5. Thanks both to Eddy and Masterly. Eddy - I looked at the Anchorage Garage a while ago but it doesn't have the greatest of reviews. Not sure about how safe it is to leave our vehicle. Masterly - Have put in a request for 80 Francisco. I take it you haven't had any issues with vehicle security/break-ins when you have parked there? Ray
  6. PandaBear62 - maybe I missed your response to my earlier query. We are also driving to San Francisco next month prior to boarding the Ruby - could you please let me know where you parked and how you reserved your parking? Was the parking garage secure? Any current information would be appreciated. Thanks Ray

  8. Yes it is a coffee machine that grinds the beans. You can get various different drinks - Americano, Cappuccino, Hot Chocolate, etc. They usually have a staff member there to make it for you. They also have a fridge full of soft drinks and water if you rather those.
  9. The Suite Concierge will also make reservations for you and deal with the front desk if need be. The Suite Lounge also has snacks throughout the day including a coffee station. Along with wine and spirits they also have beer. When they didn't have my favorites they brought them in once they knew. It is a great perk on the Royal Class ships that have it.
  10. Two things - we also sail on the Ruby in August. The first, did anyone park near the port of San Francisco? If so where, and was your vehicle safe and sound when you returned? The second - sounds like Princess is doing the same thing with their older ships - we just got off the Emerald and while the staff were great, the ship's exterior condition is less than desirable. The hull is all rust stained, the pool deck is lifting and peeling, and some of the outside railings need varnish. Lots of comments from the "new to Princess cruisers" that it would be their first and last cruise with Princess. We are looking at other lines as well for the future but will also do Princess, albeit only on the newer ships.
  11. We have used Park N Go in Ft Lauderdale. Easy to use and they have a safe compound. Option is the port garage but it is more expensive.
  12. We totally agree with Skynight. While NZ and South American fiords are great, the ones in Norway have the added bonus of places to visit instead of just sailing through. Either way, enjoy.
  13. Other comments are valid plus the Sapphire was in better condition pre-pandemic. Another vote for the Sapphire.
