The fridge will be mostly full of items to purchase, none of which are included in any package.
No cans available in any package.
On Celebrity I get them to empty the fridge so I can fill it with the package drinks but it sounds like the only thing I will be putting in the fridge in water!

We are going back a lot of years. Independence was only 3 nights in 2010 and Allure was a competition win before official launch so everything was free and I have no idea what we would have paid for and not! :o
I remember liking the Park café on Allure so that is good.
This will be our first proper cruise on Royal Caribbean and we are much more familiar with Celebrity and Princess. Fortunately our Celebrity points give us Platinum status on Royal Caribbean!!

I've got the full non alcoholic package. Is the fridge on Royal Caribbean empty on arrival or will I need to get the steward to empty it to make space.
Are there any cans at all I can get on my package? Also the water, is that large or small bottles?
Where would I go on Anthem to get my included in the package coffee?

Hot dog is complementary
JOhnny rocket is extra.
cafe 270 complementary
sorrento is complementary
ila pastrisere is extra however there is a cafe promenade on the other side and it free
Does cafe promenade serve cakes?
-
We were really impressed with the Windjammer on Allure of the Seas and wondered if the buffet on Anthem is up to the same standard. Are there any must go to areas? Do they have an Asian section and a someone tossing fresh salads?
Do they have burgers and pizza in the buffet?
Is there an afternoon tea served in the buffet? Is it ever served in any of the restaurants?
Apart from the buffet which dining venues would you recommend for lunch that are complementary?
many thanks

I notice on the deck plans on deck 15 there is a doghouse cart at the seaplex. Are these hotdogs complementary? Also can you get a proper sausage as opposed to a frankfurter sausage?
I notice that Johnny Rockets is on the pool deck. Does this mean that pool burgers are not complementary? This would be very strange and the first time on any ship we would pay for a pool burger.
The cafe @270 is that complementary for sandwiches and burgers at lunchtime?
Sorrentos - is this complementary pizza
La pâtisserie - are the cakes complementary?
many thanks

Excellent that is really good to know!

I would like to know how much the internet on Anthem is please.
Is there a discount for Platinum Tier members?
What is the speed like.
many thanks!

Hi, I'm new to Royal Caribbean and am hoping that many of you can share any tips that would help ensure an even better cruise experience. Things that you found out while cruising and thought "oh, I wish I would have known" or "I'll have to remember that for next time!" Things that we should pack that might help in the cabin or onboard (example: over the door hooks?). There are 8 in our family, all of adult age, sailing in June 2016!! I'm trying to learn the RCI website and it looks like I can book shows in advance?? Can you bring your own soda? Or maybe RCI has a decent (not outrageously priced) soda purchase plan we could use? Any of these or anything you may have learned during your time on RCI would be greatly appreciated. :):):)
Here is our video of Allure of the Seas. It's all about the ship so should be of interest.

Is there not enough to explore with heading to the island beach?
I am considering the turtle and beach tour. Do you get to swim with the turtles?
How far is the town from the cruise terminal please?
-
I'm also interested in this. On a previous Caribbean port we were able to swim with the turtles and wondered whether it was possible with this excursion. Please come back and post your thoughts after the excursion on this thread. I will get an alert then and am keen to find out your thoughts.

We are doing dynamic dining but now there is also traditional dining does that mean there will be formal nights?
How many people wear DJs in the Grande?
If there are formal nights how does that work for dynamic diners?
-
Thank you for the replies so far. I'm really interested about the self serve machines. What diet drinks are available? Diet Sprite? Diet Fanta? On Princess the only diet fountain soda is Coke which gets rather repetitive! If I go for a non alcoholic package can I still use the self serve soda?
-
I'm considering asking for a drinks package for Christmas and just wanted to check exactly what is included.
Have I imagined it or do they have a wine dispensing machine that can be used on the package? How much would a glass cost from the machine without the package? Is there a time limit from one glass to another (If you knock it over for example is there a delay?)
Can you get americanos anywhere or is there a Starbucks where you can't?
I love a cosmopolitan martini, is that included? How much would that be? Can you get any sparkling wine included?
I love mudslides, how much are they without the package?
What about diet drinks?

Which hotel are you considering at Newark Airport? You should plan to self disembark. Any transfer could eat up a lot of the morning.
Can you call the States? These folks could accommodate your group, but they don't have a web site and they take reservations 4-6 weeks out. Independent driver - 888-816-0973
Marriott Hotel which is literally at the airport. Do you have an email address for your friend?
-
Could you provide more details about what you're thinking? What exact date are you doing this? How many pieces of luggage do you need to store? Are you actually going to stay overnight in the hotel or are you just booking it to get luggage storage for the day? What hotels are you looking at and what prices including tax are you seeing? If you're flying out the same day, what time is your flight?
Right now you're looking at $28.50/pp for transport to Newark Airport. To get to NYC by train you're looking at another $26/pp round trip unless the children are under 12. You do realize that if you book a hotel room, you'd essentially be leaving your luggage all day in some hotel storage area because you won't be able to check into the room early in the morning.
At first we were going to use left luggage in New York but with 6 of us and all the luggage in tow the hotel at Newark airport works out much cheaper, plus we don't have to queue up to collect it at left luggage in New York. We fully appreciate that the luggage will be in a store room for most of the day but the flight isn't until 10:30pm so we will still freshen up in the room and probably grab a bite to eat there too. The price of the hotel including tax is less than the quote for a large van from Carmel Limo and then the cost of checking in at least 10 items to left luggage. Instead we will catch the train to Penn station luggage free.
We don't want to waste time waiting to disembark on 8th April as we want to get the most out of the day. We will buy the New York Pass (gutted the Beast doesn't run until May).
Do you know how many cases you can put in a New York taxi? I'm wondering if we might just get two taxis at the taxi rank from the cruise terminal.
How long do you think we would have to wait for a transfer bus to the airport to go?
Also can we get the transfer refunded once on board the ship if we decide to go under our own steam?
-
Hi
We are keen to get to New York as soon as possible and have decided to book an airport hotel to leave our luggage before going into New York on the train.
Our question is would it be worth waiting for the included transfer or will we waste too much time?
Also would we be able to get our money back on the transfer if we go independently?
Do they have mini buses waiting for passengers are is it a case of needing to book one in advance (we are six, with four adults)
Any hints on how to get a really early disembarkation time?
many thanks :)

I'm assuming that this is a location for cakes? Do you have to pay for them? Any photos?
-
I only have one problem with white night:they usually do a mini buffet on the Pool deck with messy foods like chocolate fondue. It would be better if they had brown night instead.
So true!!! If you are anything like me it always seems to be the first mouthful too!
-
Do you take it off and give it to the bar tenders or do they have a device for scanning?
It truly never ceases to amaze me on a daily basis, how many people don't seem to know how this service works...Leisuretraveler 223 I enjoy getting cruisers' insights, their opinions and experiences. Cruise critic is a superb forum for that and although I have broad shoulders a comment such as yours could put off others from asking innocent questions which would be a great shame.
-
I agree. I do not think I would wear this...maybe to the beach, but I think it would be GREAT for little ones. They seem to lose everything..:)
I agree for children it is a good idea but I'm not sure I would wear it.
-
Can you take it on and off? It would look pretty rubbish on formal photos! If you have a drinks package is it on the wow band? What do the different colours mean?
-
I have come across this a couple of times in threads and have no idea what it is!
-
Thank you for posting the pictures, unfortunately I can't read the text as it is small (Ironically I'm getting my eyes tested in an hour!)
Is regular coffee free at the coffee shop or just the buffet?
Thank you for the cocktail prices, do you know the non-alcoholic cocktail prices?
Is there fountain soda at Labadee?
Tips on getting the most out of my non alcoholic drinks package please

Which non alcoholic frozen cocktails would you recommend?
