  1. Our house she who must be obeyed decides where everything goes. Sometimes I can even find it. 😅
  2. They are more involved in turnarounds and increasing the value of their businesses for future sale then running them into the ground. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sycamore_Partners
  3. Collared shirt for men is fine. Don't bring a sports jacket and save room in your luggage. I did the French Chef's Table on the last cruise and it was excellent with much better quality wines then served in any of the liquor packages. A very nice evening!
  4. Not any difference on excursions between a past cruiser with status and a first time cruiser. You can reserve any of the excursions in advance and use your OBC to pay for it. Basic differences are #33 post above. Dining room you are seated when you arrive. Specialty restaurants are first come first serve on making reservations. Just a few small discounts on wifi, drink packages and discount on future cruises when booking during your trip that vary based upon your member level. Pick your cruise line and trip based upon where you want to go. Azamara is a great competitively priced product.
  5. 3.3 pounds for an average bottle but some of the premium bottles weigh in at over 4.5 pounds. That is greater than 50 pounds for a dozen bottles.
  6. For anyone curious here are the loyalty benefits listed https://www.azamara.com/loyalty/azamara-circle/member-benefits While discounts are always appreciated nothing of great significance in my opinion. There have been lots of mistakes in the transition from RCL to Sycamore Partners, the biggest being the lack of timely responses to their customer base. This however seems to be across the entire cruise industry as well as others with the return from covid lockdown, finding qualified staff on shore , etc. I have only done one cruise on Azamara and was happy enough to book a back2back. Happy to be able to get out of the house and travel and experience the world again too.
  7. I would suggest when you reserve your boarding time choose the earliest (most likely 2PM). As soon as you board go to the table set for specialty dinner reservations so you will have a choice of date and cuisine before they fill up. They will also know when the White Night is scheduled so your dinner will not conflict if you choose to attend that event. In the past the reservation desk was in the entrance to the Discoveries restaurant.
  8. As a suggestion register on the website and then put in your booking number. That may be the missing link to getting emails . If you’ve already done that then …..oh well.🙄
  9. This is an old photo off the journey with US and EU outlets at the desk. Perhaps some one can update it if different.
  10. I am a past Celebrity cruiser that took my first Azamara cruise last year . The hook was the reciprocal benefits but we would have shifted to smaller ships anyway which meant Azamara and Oceana was our target. Azamara is not perfect but I'm not either (so says she who must be obeyed). Not cueing up to get off the boat is number one reason. Quality of food very similar. On board entertainment inferior but we aren't night owls so not really missed. I am in the gym before breakfast. Love the itineraries on the smaller ships to smaller ports. If any of the above sounds good you will be very happy with your choice.
  11. I booked a back to back on board and found the rates dropped saving me thousand of dollars after. I cancelled and rebooked with my travel agent. Also note you can book on board and then transfer the booking to your travel agent. I suggest you do the math and see if it makes sense. Note the benefits of booking on board are based upon your level in the loyalty program.
  12. Agreed. I am keeping track and will use much of my OBC for dinners, chefs table, internet, and covering corkage fees. On both my cruises I expect I will still need to add cash but will take some Azamara tours to burn through OBC.
  13. This is a great time to remind people to look for the roll call for your cruise and post there. On my last trip I found some excellent tours with a van for 8 at a price approx 30% less than similar offered by the Azamara. We had a great time with the smaller group. For my upcoming cruise and there is very little participation. Only 8 following the roll call is less than 2% cruising. If you don't find an existing roll call for your cruise start one.
  14. Hopefully you have documentation or a screen shot. Everything is slow with the changeover to the new website but best to be prepared. I suspect it won't be an issue.
  15. My standard especially when going to an unfamiliar restaurant is ask the waiter for their favorites. More likely than not to get the best dishes the menu offers.
  16. FYI my starting this post showing "check in Feb 8th" which doesn't work is 45 days prior to the cruise. I am fine with 30 days before too. The reason I posted here to see what others are seeing is to not waste time on the phone for myself or Azamara staff so appreciate all sharing their experiences. That is why the cruise critic board is valuable to all of us
  17. Today is Feb 9th. Seeing if others are seeing similar on their cruises or if I should be reaching out to Azamara's IT department. If I recall my last cruise I received an email telling me check-in was available.
  18. Azamara has a bid process for passengers to upgrade cabins. It is likely they will prefer the additional income in lieu of a free upgrade to you. The guarantee is you will get what is left in your category and the possibility of an upgrade . You may find the views, vibrations or noise, or motion of the ship under way not acceptable to you. On the last cruise one couple in our party did get a category upgrade to a cabin they didn't like and couldn't reject it and go back to the one of choice as that had been taken. Decide for yourself if it is worth the gamble for the savings. On the roll call you will find a link to a spreadsheet with reviews of the different cabins by room number which you might find helpful.
  19. Best to choose your cabin then leave it to chance. Same goes for bidding on upgrades where you might end up with a higher classification but inferior cabin to your original choice.
  20. Then booking on board is a benefit as you risk the initial deposit of 50% of the normal one.
  21. I apparently put my response on an old site. Cruise with Confidence appears to have ended last year.
  22. Here is the link https://boards.cruisecritic.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=445677
  23. About to embark on my second azamara cruise. My first in Iceland I formed a group of 8 off cruise critic, shopped and booked some fabulous small group tours. My upcoming back to back in the Med got little responses on the cruise critic roll calls. Taking the Azamara tours as a result. I estimate the Azamara cruise excursions about 1/3 more cost along with a larger group. Roll call followers were less than 1 dozen on both, 1-2% of the passengers. Not a complaint but an observation. I agree with the large OBC offered they need they be spent. I do feel there are some great private tour operators we are missing.
  24. Azamara is informal dress. We bring clothes that hang wrinkle free but there is an iron in the laundry area if you feel you need it. The worst that would happen is they would take the steamer from you and return it at the end of the cruise. I personally try to bring as little extra as possible on every trip as I become the porter and the misses tips poorly.😁
  25. Received in my email today. Not sure if it has been sent out globally so posting it. Better times ahead!!
