  1. I think she’s a great ship, I’ve said on her 3 times and reviewed her 2/3 times which are linked in my signature. Like all ships, she has her positives and negatives but never had a bad time at all so I would recommend the ship at least once.
  2. Time to share more brilliant cruises for 2026. CARNIVAL LUMINOSA and her special voyage from BRISBANE Australia to Tahiti and French Polynesia, Hawaii and arriving to her home port of SAN FRANCISCO. From there she will sail on some special Alaska cruises before a 18 day Alaskan and Japanese voyage. 3. I sailed on the Pride last year and loved it, she was also updated shortly after that as well. I felt there was still plenty to do, but I don’t mind old or newer ships. Have done Bermuda many times on various ships and it’s one of my favorite destinations with so much to do, especially if you’re there for three days or at least an overnight.
  4. Definitely on the bucket list to do a longer itinerary.
  5. Used be a 8 day with a stop in St. Maartin, St. Kitts and one other stop, though I don’t think they do it anymore, wish they would bring that back.
  6. Some 2026 has opened, Spirit and Miracle to Alaska from Seattle (and a Hawaii sailing on Spirit), Legend in Europe (with a 11 day Solar Eclipse cruise) and more Splendor was opened in Australia.
  7. The piping was cut down more or less, if you compare photos. But Golden/Star were never going to have their handles removed, theirs were made lighter than Grand’s with different materials used. Crown is the one currently based year round in the region and is even doing her first world cruise, so I do wonder if that extra deck makes a big difference. Not sure if they’d based one of the Gems their, they like to use Diamond for Japan and Sapphire seems to get bounced around.
  8. Disney has a new build for Japan in 2028 and Disney Adventure (Former Global Dream) is Singapore bound, the new class will probably be spread out among the US and could maybe replace Magic/Wonder?
  9. Depends, Adventure is modified specifically to sail under the bridge that’s in Sydney, not sure of the particular height required off the top of my head but does that pose an issue for any Carnival ships, assuming most? But eventually they’ll be rotated out, they aren’t that young anymore.
  10. Even if they place the order for say 4 ships for AIDA, the order can always be amended, Jubilee was supposed to go to AIDA after all.
  11. I would think make them full time Carnival ships, China is struggling to fill ships in that area. Not sure how the rest of the Asia market is, one could replace Serena which serves that area. I would think they would be returned if they get more new builds, that’s a good chunk of capacity to transfer back, plus undoing the Carnival additions. Costa ships compliment Carnival better (excluding the two Vistas), keep some and maybe sell off some but their fleet is pretty young for the most part.
  12. Is there anything pointing to P&O getting two ships? Only Aurora would be up for retirement, Arcadia would have another 5 years left. I also wouldn’t expect Costa to go anywhere at this point, unless something drastic happened.
  13. We might not see anything till 2028-2029 with those three having what could be their last dry docks in 2026 (but that doesn’t mean anything). Though I also wonder if they will send a bigger ship to Alaska and free up the Spirits and Luminosa for these pending retirements. I would think a port like Mobile gets cut again, Carnival sighed a five year contract from what I could find which puts them around 2028 or they pick up an older Conquest Class and Spirit moves to Jacksonville or Tampa year round.
  14. Elation, Paradise and Sunshine definitely have their days numbers by early 2030s, Sunrise and Radiance could last a tad longer but not much
  15. They order could also change if they feel the initial say first two were too small, kind of what NCL did with the Prima Class. Think these would be a good stepping stone for those who don’t want a big ship but still gives something modern to their aging ships. I also don’t expect Costa to be absorbed or lose any other vessels other than many Fortuna in the future. They seemed to have bounced back nicely but I wouldn’t expect Carnival to return the two Vistas either. Think we would have heard about it by now, any the overall Corp is shedding the one P&O brand.
  16. Her interiors are probably one of my favorites, definitely represents a different time from a more current cruising era, I would sail on her again and hope to sail on Paradise at some point as well.
  17. Elation, Sunshine and Pride. I would probably try Sunrise again during an off peak time.
  18. Love going to Bermuda, have gone almost once a year over the past few years. I did Venezia’s US inaugural last year, that review is linked in my signature. Theres plenty to do around the island, some fun stuff just at the dockyard, Hamilton is really nice as well.
  19. I think any ship can do a world cruise run, Princess has Crown Princess running the Australian World Cruise for the first time so a similar sized ship in Costa like say Pacifica could as well.
  20. MIAMI, July 23, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- With consumer demand for cruise vacations at historic levels, Carnival Corporation & plc(NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), the world's largest cruise company, today announced an order for three new ships for its namesake Carnival Cruise Line brand for a new class of vessel, at nearly 230,000 gross registered tonnes. The agreement with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri provides for the design, engineering, and construction of these liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered ships, which will be delivered in the summers of 2029, 2031 and 2033, respectively. "We are proud to be known as America's cruise line with tremendous guest loyalty and an outstanding team that has enabled us to deliver memorable vacations to over 100 million guests," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. "For this next generation ship, we are focused on creating innovative guest experiences that will take Carnival Cruise Lineinto the future with new FUN features and excitement that we know our guests will LOVE." With today's order, there have been five new ship orders for Carnival Cruise Line announced in 2024. Earlier this year, Carnival Corporation placed its first newbuild orders in five years for two more Excel-class ships that will join the Carnival Cruise Line fleet in 2027 and 2028. The company also recently announced a series of strategic shifts to further optimize the composition of its global brand portfolio and to increase guest capacity for Carnival Cruise Line, transferring a total of five vessels from sister brands to the Carnival Cruise Line fleet between 2023 and March 2025. "We are doubling down on the growth of Carnival Cruise Line – our highest-returning brand – to keep up with the incredibly strong demand we continue to see for the world's most popular cruise line," said Josh Weinstein, chief executive officer of Carnival Corporation & plc. "At this point, our newbuild pipeline is just one delivery in each of 2025, 2027, 2028, 2029, 2031 and 2033. We continue to take a disciplined approach to growth, strategically directing new capacity to the areas of highest demand at a rate of one to two new ships per year." According to Weinstein, this order will take the company's overall measured capacity growth between 2025 and 2033 to an average of approximately 1.5% per year. "This gives us the headroom to strategically provide new capacity to the brands in our portfolio like Carnival Cruise Line, which provide outsized returns while continuing to execute against our responsible capital strategy, using our strong free cash flow over the next several years to improve our balance sheet, significantly reduce our debt, and continue to transfer value from debt holders to shareholders," he said. With over 3,000 guest staterooms, the new ships will be the largest in the Carnival Corporation global fleet and will be able to deliver fun to more guests than any ship in the world when carrying almost 8,000 guests at full capacity. Once delivered in 2033, Carnival Corporation will have a total of 16 LNG-powered ships – including eight Carnival Cruise Line ships – making up almost 30% of Carnival Corporation's global capacity and delivering immediate greenhouse gas emission reductions. The new ships will also feature advanced energy efficiency, waste management, and emission reduction technologies to further reduce the company's environmental footprint. "We are excited to join forces with Carnival Cruise Line to debut a new class of ship, which will be the largest cruise ship ever constructed by Fincantieri and the largest ship ever built in Italy. We are proud of the role Fincantieri has played in helping Carnival Corporation secure its position as the world's largest cruise company and look forward to continuing this success story together," said Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO, Fincantieri. Design details and itinerary information for the new Carnival Cruise Line ships will be announced in the future. This order is contingent upon financing, which is expected to be completed later this year https://www.carnivalcorp.com/news-releases/news-release-details/carnival-corporation-orders-three-additional-ships-carnival
  21. Poster above said it did have a bridge so I would assume its close to what Baltimore was. What other ships could be moved besides the Spirits and Luminosa?
  22. Think NCL is trading Baltimore for Philly, they only have one more departure from Baltimore in September then after that there's nothing for the rest of the year, 2025 or even early 2026. I wouldn't expect them to move to Philly at all, there's really not a ship to move there, the four Spirits (not including Luminosa) occupy Baltimore, Alaska, Europe during the summer seasons.
